  1. As long as Rivers gets the 4th or 5th forward he'll go half ok. Lyon forgot to add that in the recent Geelong v Adelaide game, River was solely responsible for Adelaide two first qtr goals. The first one he dropped a mark which resulted in Dangerfield mopping up the mess. In the second goal, Rivers gave away a blatant free in the goal square. I'm not all that fussed to see him succeed at Geelong.
  2. Sounds like the Melbourne v saints nab cup game when we folded like a deck of cards in the second qtr. I hope Clarks done enough for rd 1. Will be disappointed if he and Dawes don't make it next week.
  3. It's fair to say our NAB cup form has been a concern. An 8 goal to 1 second qtr against the saints and a poor loss to Gold Coast is not an endorcement for the year ahead. But, ill give them the benefit of the doubt. We were missing quite a few in each game, including our two key forwards. I struggle to see us winning more than 4 games because we have the worst midfield in the AFL.
  4. Not sticking up for bailey what so ever as he was proven to be a rubbish AFL head coach, but it was a fair effort belting the likes of Adelaide and Fremantle by 90 odd points, and beating a final 8 side in Essendon , with grossly inferior fitness. That awful fitness base also somehow saw them tie with the 2010 premiers.
  5. I bet he has a stinker of a year, does a Moloney by throwing the toys out of the cot and switching clubs, and have a blinder of a 2014.
  6. And if he's not in the 22 he won't be at the club next year.I can see a repeat of Moloney, where the minute he gets dropped, he throws the toys out of the cot and wants out. Sylvia should be one of the first 5 players picked on talent alone, but lacks consistency from week to week.
  7. Geez I hope T McDonald is available. Will help our defensive structure no end. I know it won't happen but it wouldn't shock me if Howe doesn't make the cut. Apart from the North mini game, has done nothing this pre season.
  8. I actually reckon Port have a better list than us. They certainly have a better midfield.
  9. And people wonder why we haven't a round 1 game since 2005.We always go into the season with atrocious form.
  10. Everyone still rapt to see the back of Moloney?
  11. Lets invite him for pre season training next year!
  12. Can anyone see a bit of Pendlebury in him?
  13. Wouldn't be the worst option in the world. Gets a fair bit of it, but disposal lets him down.
  14. Thought Matt Jones showed a little on the weekend. Certainly knows how to get it, which is probably the starting point on being a good midfielder. Has a bit of pace and moves ok. I know I'm clutching at straws with our poor midfield, but you never know with this bloke. Wouldn't surprise if he plays 16+ games in the midfield.
  15. RR, on what basis do you expect an emphatic win against Port in rd 1? Port have been bloody impressive this pre season. Knocked off West coast and St Kilda. Have a bunch of very classy midfielders in Boak, Hartlett and Ebert and a gun full forward in Schultz. We on the other hand put on second qtr display against the Aints that had a very slight whiff of 186. I wish I shared your confidence, but expect that Port will be too dominant, classy and professional for us in rd 1. Gee I hope I'm wrong.
  16. Very underrated around here. His kicking skills are elite compared to most of his colleagues. Has been our best player in the NAB Cup.
  17. Knowing our luck, Wines will be the greatest player of all time. Meanwhile, we'll be forever bemoaning Viney's disposal, Toumpas ends up being a poor mans Cale Morton, and Hogan becomes a 4 time All Australian centre half forward....... For Fremantle.
  18. Put him on the wing. Our disposal into inside 50 is vfl 2's standard. The bloke has a beautiful shoe, and his defensive weaknesses won't be as exposed on the wing.
  19. Two very talented players who are capable of a speccy and 55 meter goal. But both fade in and out of games and barely ever get in our best, and are low possession getters. These 2 boys could seriously help us rise up the ladder with their potential 'a' grade talent, but just can't put it together for 4 quarters. What are their best positions? Can they take their game to a higher level, or is this as good as it gets? Two players who could give a lot more IMO
  20. At this rate it will actually be Dawes (mystery injury of the month) missing round 1 and not Clark Wouldn't surprise me if they rushed Trengove in for round 1.
  21. Surely we have a practice match next weekend, otherwise we'll have 2 weeks off. Last year we played port at Aami, the week of the nab cup grand final.
  22. Neeld reckons Clark is a chance for round 1, provided he has no set backs.
