  1. I firmly believe that if JT plays again it will be for another club. Either that or he retires. The poor bloke desperately needs a change of scenery and hopefully for his sake (not ours) he gets a change of luck elsewhere. After all the crap he's been through at the MFC, something tells me that the aborted trade to Richmond was the last straw for JT. If he gets himself right by the end of the season, I can see a goodwill trade that will see JT move to the club of his choice for a 5th or 6th round pick or a swap of 4th or 5th round picks.
  2. Those 5000 members obviously haven't seen much of us over the last 8 seasons.I don't need the CEO stating that we're aiming for finals this year when I fully know we won't make it.
  3. Agree we should be aiming for finals, but a hell of a lot of things are going to have to change over the next 2 years for us to have a 12 or 13 win season.I guess I'm just so accustomed to watching a rabble.
  4. If we win 8 games in 2015 I'll be doing cartwheels down Bourke Street.
  5. A final by 2016 eh? Tell him he's dreaming.
  6. Bernie Vince should also get this golden ticket you speak of. Has he actually had a session out of the rehab group yet?
  7. What will be the impact on us if Essendon are banned from the NAB Challenge? We play them on Mar 20 at Etihad. Options that I can think of in substitute of the cancelled game: 1) Intra-club game 2) Most players play a VFL game for Casey 3) Arrange a trial game on Fri Mar 27 against St Kilda (who will also miss out on game due to Essendon)
  8. At the start of the season, I just assumed Kelly would end up the better player than Tyson, simply due to MFC's trading and drafting mistakes and/or bad luck. But from what I saw of Tyson in 2014, I think there's every chance Tyson could be the equal of Kelly - maybe even better. That being said, Kelly is an amazing user of the footy and looks like he's going to be an elite A grader over the next decade.
  9. Anyone watch his game against port in round 18 at the Adelaide oval? He actually showed a point of difference that day and perhaps another year of perseverance warranted. i can recall him kicking a 55 mtr set shot goal, then follow it up with a bone crunching bump at the following centre bounce, which directly resulted in a JKH goal. His field kicking was good and provided a decent high half forward target. Compare that to Blease who ran around like a headless chook. We could've kept Tappscott and got rid of Terlich and I don't think anyone would've noticed. I do concede though that his long history of injuries probably cost him though and fair enough.
  10. So if Hogan is on a modified program, would round 1 be in doubt for him?
  11. Agree. In the goals of the year segment on Brownlow night, neither Tyson or Kent's amazing goal vs Essendon didn't feature.
  12. Go and re-watch our 2 Port Adel games last year.4 of the classiest goals you'll see from a midfielder, and I'm pretty sure he snagged 6 Brownlow votes from the 2 games. I'm going to make a bold prediction that he'll be the best out of his former GWS midfield vintage of Treloar, Shiel, Coniglio and Greene.
  13. I really hope that if the players get suspended, it's for the entire season, not for only part of the season. If the players are suspended for say half the season, you'll have some teams playing Essendon at full strength, while other teams could play them with a bunch of state leaguers which would mean an automatic 4 points just for showing up. The entire season will be compromised, even ruined.
  14. Perhaps 'nomination' was the wrong word. The point I was getting across was - if you have an interrupted pre-season it generally has an adverse impact on the season ahead. Vince has certainly had an interrupted pre-season and I wouldn't be surprised if his season (overall) isn't as good as 2014. You only have to look at Garland and Viney's form in 2014 compared to their excellent 2013 seasons. Both had interrupted pre-seasons, both had mediocre 2014 seasons by their standards.
  15. Well done Rb on your reports! Gee Vince has had a poor pre season. Jan 21 and he's still not training consistently. Not his fault of course. He's my early nomination for a down year, just like Garland last year due to his interrupted pre season.
  16. I see us being 3-8 with wins over GWS, Bulldogs and St Kilda. That's no improvement on the same time last year. However I see us having a much better second half of the season than last year and our draw is much easier. We should be aiming for 7 wins this year. Anymore is Disneyland stuff.
  17. Yeah I'm not as bullish on Frost as some are. GWS's asking price of pick 23 was very surprising. He didn't impress me much at GWS and I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a chunk of games for Casey, which could leave a hole for us in defence. If Frost makes it it may not be until 2016 or 17.
  18. That is just plain bizzare. A very average mature aged player coming off a poor year, getting a 2 year extension??? Surely a 1 year extension would have sufficed. If anyone deserved 2 years out of that lot, it should've been Bail.
  19. Another Barry Prendergast gem
  20. I most certainly do not want him anywhere near the team. If you can't a kick a football, you can't be play AFL, and he certainly cannot.
  21. I'm not convinced. He had a poor end to the year (mind you most of our players did)
  22. Reminds me of boxing day 2012. Tom McDonald was working hard in the gym. Rivers, Frawley and Howe were creating a long snake out of beer cups at the cricket. Spot the difference in professionalism.
  23. Believe it or not I think we feature on Saturday arvo just as much as any other vic team.Off memory I think we play against gc, Hawks, bombers and pies at the g on Saturday.
  24. Excellent write up. Really hoping our best period of footy between rounds 7-10 wasn't a false economy.
