I'd say our ranking is inflated by our big wins over some really bad sides this year.

Surely Sloane, with Matt Crouch being an outside chance. -

^^^^ Righto guys, if you're still happy and comfortable with O Mac taking the opposition's premier number 1 forward then I am too.... (I concede we don't really have any other options besides Frost and Pedo) -

Off memory didn't Frost play his best ever game against Walker in our win over there last year. Perhaps he takes Walker. I've lost all faith in O Mac taking the number 1 forward. Mind you Jenkins ain't a mug either which is the match up you suggested above.. -
Congrats Jordan Lewis on 300 games

Probably because most of us hated him at Hawthorn. -

Congrats to him. I reckon the criticism of Lewis has been over the top around here. He does makes 1 bad blue a game, whether it be a turnover or an undisciplined act. However, he ends up playing a solid game week in week out and is always in out best 6-8 players. And he can't help it that he's 32 and lost whatever pace he once had (which from memory wasn't much). He'd be of massive value to us if and when we ever play a final. While I'd imagine most of our blokes would be running around like headless chooks in the first qtr, he''d provide a massive calming influence to the side. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19

Massive implications this week. Lose and we're probably back in good old 9th. Beat Adelaide and we're in home final territory. Then beat GC and we could be half a game out of the top 4 behind GWS at the end of round 20. We've had some heartbreak this year, however all of that can be forgiven with a statement win on Saturday night. Time for this club to step up and control it's own destiny. -

Was ill yesterday and today but will train later in the week and play Saturday night. Also, Harmes will be given to the last minute on game day. -

Apparently he's been outstanding as a key defender for Casey the last few weeks. Do we bring him in to take a Walker, Jenkins or Lynch? -

I think we should ban training on Wednesdays. Last Wednesday Hibberd. Today Oliver Next Wednesday ?? -

Hopefully just resting up that knee in the back he copped. Although, given Hogan's track record in crunch games...... -
Who takes Walker? Frost?? Who takes Lynch? Vince?? Who takes Jenkins? O Mac?? Who takes McGovern? Smith (who quite frankly is not up to it) Severely miss Hibberd and it's not even worth talking about Lever. The result will totally rest on the above match ups. And i fear our defence won't be able to contain their potency up front. We can win all the clearances, contested possessions, inside 50's, score 100 points, but yet another forward line could get a hold of us.

We will play finals with 12 wins if the following happens due to our excellent percentage. None of these results are outrageous either: ADELAIDE (12 wins): Melbourne W Port L GWS L North W Carlt W ESSENDON (12 wins) Sydney W Hawks W St Kilda W Richmond L Port L HAWTHORN (12 wins) Freo W Essendon L Geelong L St Kilda W Sydney L NORTH MELB (12 Wins) West Coast L Brisbane W WB W Adelaide L St Kilda W

If we are to lose tomorrow night, it's essential that North lose, as they're clearly one of the sides trying to take our spot in the 8. Same with Hawthorn but they'll smack Carlton. A Brisbane win over Adelaide would also be massive as it would effectively kill Adelaide's season at 8-9 and they might not be in a great head space when we play them next week.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18

Caddy was a top 10 pick for GC in 2010. For a former pick 3 of the 2011 draft, Tyson has seriously been underwhelming of late. He seems to be going backwards by the year for a bloke that was touted to be a star of the comp in his early days of GWS and then Melbourne in 2014. Perhaps yet another change of club might reinvigorate him? Hopefully tomorrow night is a turning point for him and the opportunity certainly presents given Viney will be out for weeks. -
Yes I was referring to Adelaide playing GWS in Canberra.
-
Adelaide pose as a serious threat from here, particularly if we lose to them next week. Could feasibly win 13, but are near certainties to lose to GWS in Canberra who are unbeatable at Manuka.
-
Look you’re probably right in that 13 wins is required, but it’s going to require one of Hawthorn or North to win 4/6 games for us to need 13 wins. I’d like to think neither side has the consistency to do it and they both have some tough fixtures.

Jarred knee sounds like the most minor injury going around. I’d say Hannan was dropped and they were just being polite. -
I’m staggered that most of you blokes are writing off 12 wins as not enough. Refer to post 5 of this thread and you’ll see how highly possible it is with 12. As long as Hawks and North go 3-3 at the most while Adelaide and Essendon don’t exceed 4-2, then we’re playing finals footy with 12 wins. Heck even if Collingwood go 1-5, we’ll go ahead of them with 12 wins.
-
I had us sneaking into 8th on 12-10 due to our great percentage. I also had Hawthorn and North at 12-10 but missing. Adelaide and Essendon winning 11 each. Hawthorn Carlton W Freo W Ess L Geel L St K W Syd L NORTH MELB Collingwood L West Coast L Bris W WB W Adel L StK W MELBOURNE Geelong L Adelaide W GC W Syd L WCE L GWS L

Hope that is true. He’s kicked 12 goals in the last 3 games we’ve played Geelong. Menzel has absolutely owned us! -

His kicking last week was atrocious. I wonder if there is a connection. Unless your Richmond, multiple injuries will always catch up on a side, whether it be at the start, middle or end.
