Misson has played this beautifully in his interview. He played the optimistic card by saying that the injury is very minor, in order to appease the supporters. On the other hand he never said he'd miss just 1 week so he's covered himself there in the event Melksham misses 3 which is probably the worst case scenario for a minor hamstring strain.
-
Dangerfield missed 2 weeks (the week after JLT and round 1 this year) with a very minor strain so I''m using that as a guide. So he'll surely miss the crucial Sydney game which is a pity. Unless Smiley Misson is bull crapping about it only being 'minor', expect him back for round 22 V's WCE.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 20
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm predicting an inefficient 45 point win , where we blow them away in 1 qtr. Still haven't played a 4 quarter game at the G. Hopefully that changes this week. -
Exactly. We've had many a loss get away from us at the death, but Queens Birthday was not one of them. We were utterly schooled that day by Collingwood.
-
That's great but hopefully they actually give us a Friday night game in VIC, rather than just the one in Adelaide per this year.
-
I'd rather Pies win and further dent Sydney's finals hopes. While top 4 would be awesome, I think it's just important to make the finals this year reagardless. We can worry about top 4 next year. And anyway, if we did sneak into top 4 we'd probably have to face Richmond which would be a bloody tough task first up.

Yeah I’ve been adamant that the loss of Lever has hurt so much more than the loss of Viney. Though I concede we badly missed his leadership against Geelong.
-
Is it just me or do Oliver and Brayshaw go to the next level when Viney doesn’t play??
-
We need to play the best possible side this week and if it means Hogan is 75-80% fit, then he plays. Apparently no AFL player is 95%-100% fit and healthy at this stage of the year anyway. We need to take this game as seriously as any other on the run home. We need to win by at least 10 goals to: 1) Negate Hawthorn's 10 goal win yesterday; 2) Ward off Geelong as they have 2 very easy games at kardina Park the last 2 weeks.
-
Wow! The AFL actually gave us some consideration by not giving us a 6 day break after Perth.
-
It's a scenario, not a given. I still think Sydney have some bullets left. Write them off at your own peril.
-
A disastrous and heart breaking scenario which sees us missing the finals on 13 wins: MELBOURNE: GG W Sydney L WCE L GWS W GEELONG: Richmond W Hawthorn L Freo W GC W HAWTHORN Essendon W Geelong W St Kilda W Sydney L SYDNEY: Collingwood W Melbourne W GWS L Hawthorn W 5. GWS 14-7-1 6. Hawthorn 14-8 7. Geelong 14-8 8. Sydney 14-8 9. Melbourne 13-9

Next week, probably early. AFL website are guessing we've got the Saturday arvo timeslot. But given we're coming back from Perth, surely the league would give us Sunday to enjoy the extra day's break??
-
First year in a long time we're higher than fellow minnows North, St Kilda and Bulldogs.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19

Stevic and Meredith are some of the best in the business I think?? -
Chaplin lost me last year when he was seen wearing his Richmond scarf, beanie, jumper and duffel coat to every Richmond final last year despite being a paid MFC employer. Whether he can coach or not is another story. And it's questionable given he's the coach of our worst unit on the field.
-
It's critical that Freo beat Hawthorn on Sunday night if we're any hope of sneaking in with 12 wins. I can see a lot of sides including us finishing on 12 wins and we all know who has the best percentage at the moment. Whilst Adelaide and Essendon are paying elimination finals every week, they'll eventually come tumbling down in the last couple of weeks.
-
Agreed, his 2014 season was outstanding. Off memory he jagged 12 brownlow votes including 2 BOG's in losses to Port and North. Fair to say that the 21 year old Tyson was a far better player than the current 25 year old Tyson.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19

Why are people saying Hogan might be a late out? Wasn’t it established that he was ill and ordered to stay home? Then he’d train on Friday and play Saturday night. -

Goodwin obviously sees something in JFK than approx 44,100 can’t. He failed in last weeks pressure cooker game. What makes this weekend any different? -

I don't even know why JFK kept his sport after the Doggies game. Surely the easy dropped chest mark against the Dogs was a dead giveaway that he wouldn't have been able to handle the heat against Geelong in hostile territory. And sure enough he cost us dearly with that miss late in the game. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19

Given it's a Saturday game the finalised 22 will be announced tonight. -
3aw last night. Interviewed by Dwayne Russell and Richo. They asked him who aside from Richmond is the best club in the league and he was quick to nominate Melbourne. He also then went onto nominate Collingwood (no mention of West Coast) but the fact that without hesitation he picked us was interesting.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hopefully this time around the umpires can accurately measure a 50 metre penalty. Still having nightmares about the 70 metre penalty and goal that was awarded to Westhoff in the last qtr of round 14. -

Sooner rather than later it's all going to all come crushing down on Adelaide if they're playing elimination finals every week to the rest of the year. Same as Essendon.
