  1. Ben Guthrie‏Verified account @BenGuthrie_ 2h2 hours ago Based on Melbourne match practice at training this morning, Dom Tyson, Joel Smith and Josh Wagner are all in the selection mix for the clash against the Cats. Dees match committee to meet later today.
  2. Who's due back this week.
  3. I'm guessing Matthews gave McCrae 5 votes, Hunter 4 votes and Wallis 3 votes. If we're lucky Brayshaw and Oliver may have scrounged the 2 and 1 votes.
  4. Clearly you missed my point. We have the midfield options to possibly absorb the Viney loss. We didn't and still don't have the defensive options to cover the Lever loss, as evidenced by conceding cricket scores against St Kilda and Collingwood.
  5. Is it just me or is anyone not as stressed about this than the Lever loss?
  6. Yeah it's clear now more than ever that they assess the outcome rather than the incident itself. If the Geelong player didn't return to the field, Walker wouldn't be playing Melbourne in 2 weeks.
  7. I'd say the latter. There's no tougher assignment in footy than Geelong in Geelong (unless your Sydney). We'll be doing extremely well to beat Geelong next week,
  8. I reckon Walker will just get the 1 week. Incident will be deemed as medium impact as the Geelong bloke came back on and didn't have concussion.
  9. Well, after night Geelong V Melbourne just became an '8 point' game.
  10. Request list for this weekend aside from the obvious win we want: Adelaide to beat Geelong Brisbane to beat Hawthorn Richmond to beat GWS West Coast to beat Collingwood (I want Collingwood to finish outside the top 4) Sydney to beat North
  11. If North won 2 of the 4 possible losses I listed, they'll end up on 14-8 assuming they win their remaining easy games, and likely take our spot in the 8.
  12. We make it with 12 wins if the following happens and we keep our percentage intact and Essendon and Adelaide both lose at least a game which they will: MELBOURNE WIN THE FOLLOWING GAMES: Bulldogs GC GWS NORTH LOSE THE FOLLOWING: Sydney (Etihad) Collingwood (MCG) West Coast (Hobart) Adelaide (Adelaide Oval) GWS LOSE THE FOLLOWING: Richmond (Spotless) Port (Adelaide Oval) Sydney (Spotless) Melbourne (MCG) The bottom line is it's critcal that GWS and North lose as many games as possible. We also probably won't make it with 12 wins if we lose to GWS in round 23. The GWS game is going to be the biggest game of our MFC supporting lives since the 2016 finals series.
  13. We usually reward solid form in the VFL so it will either be Tyson or the former US president in this week for Stretch.
  14. That's a shame for him and us as we need outside run at the G. He was much improved Vs Freo compared to his form earlier this year and late last year. Apparantly Oskar Baker's not ready, so who comes in to replace that outside run that Stretch provides? JFK? Tyson?
  15. As much as a disaster it would be to be knocked out of finals due to losing another round 23 game, at least this time we'd be playing a semi decent side in GWS who would probably still be in finals contention. Unlike last year when we got beaten by an 8-13 rabble who had 9 of their best 22 out and had nothing to play for except for McGuire's vindication of keeping Buckley.
  16. Freo now $9.00 to win at the TAB. We couldn’t possibly...could we??
  17. Who do we hope wins out of Essendon and Collingwood (in the hopeful event we win): Do we want Essendon to win and therefore only be a game and a better percentage behind Collingwood? With the knowledge that Collingwood have a quite difficult draw with lots of injuries? Or do we want Collingwood to win and virtually put Essendon out of business, and therefore one less side to worry about taking our spot.
  18. LOL. I'd be concerned if opposition coaches earning $1 million per year would lurk around Demonland for tactics and team selection ides.
  19. Lucky Goodwin doesn't coach in the MLB, NFL, or NBA as he'd be sacked on the spot if they lose to 2 sides that are over $7 to win in consecutive weeks.
  20. If we lose to a Fyfe and Sandi- Less Freo (coming off a 9 goal loss to Brisbane), I don't think we could possibly blame anyone but the umpires.
  21. Hardwick, Clarkson, Longmire, Chris Scott, Bomber Thompson, Matthews and Sheedy all coached the teams they played for right?
  22. Now that Wagner’s been taken off the market, clubs can now re-focus their pursuits of Tom Lynch, Sloane and Jeremy McGovern.
  23. If we lose to Freo it’s season over. And then I want to know what the implications are of missing the finals 2 years in a row, especially after being 8-3 this year. Head coach sacked? New president? At the very least they can punt that assistant coach that wore his Richmond scarf to every final last year, and was seen actively supporting a rival club.
  24. I would say no after last week's debutante. However his pace must be tempting. On a side note, lucky for Salem he's a good kick as I'm trying to work figure what else he provides the side, particularly given that he was a top 10 draft pick. He's been coasting this year.
  25. In retrospect I can't think of a player more critical to our structure and success than Jake Lever. And that includes Gawn, as we got away with Pedo and T Mac sharing the ruck last year. And it's not as if we're shooting the lights out anyway with Gawn rucking, he's just killing it with contested marking and overall effort..
