  1. Absolutely depressing that Perth will host 60,000 to a footy game in mid July, while 1 million Victorians face a potential lock down at the same time.
  2. You should get a gig with the MFC list management department with that kind of foresight. Finlayson was a revelation last year and would’ve been one of the biggest bargain trades of all time.
  3. You might be right. Played a good game against the Dogs last year with 3 goals and then showed bits and pieces in the following 4 games before getting injured. I don’t think you could conclude that he was going to be a gun off the back of 4 games.
  4. That's actually a good out for us, if the good Stanley was planning on turning up.
  5. First player ever to be dropped despite not playing a game??
  6. Assuming there are no more impacted games, why can't they do a split round later in the year to cater for the postponed game. Melbourne and Essendon won't have to play on a 4 day break and all clubs can get a mid season break in replacement of that stupid bye before the finals which is one of the worst initiatives the AFL has brought to the game recently.
  7. Except when he plays against us. Last year he missed 10 weeks through injury except for a game against us during that period. And what do you know, he was BOG with 3 goals.
  8. Hogan’s been worse than putrid in this one. Just 3 handballs into the 3rd qtr.
  9. Ironic that the player that wants to play AFL the least out of all players and can’t wait to get out of the country once his contract expires is the first player to test positive. Easendon supporters ought to be seething with McKenna as they’ll likely lose their next 2 games without Hooker, Hurley and their other defenders.
  10. May’s kicking was garbage last week as well.
  11. Let’s not get too carried away with GC. They always start the season hot and then fall in a heap by round 8 as injuries and fatigue mount. They’ll probably get out of the bottom 4 for the first time in 6-7 years though.
  12. Good to see Fritsch’s radar back on track with 2 or 3 set shots nailed (unless he also kicked 5 behinds with it...)
  13. If the Essendon players are tested on Tuesday and cleared, then why can’t we play them on Tuesday night rather than having to worry about a make-up game later in the season?
  14. Absolutely he did. He feels desperately sorry for Essendon and had the arrogance to say that they were basically a certainly to beat us today. One of the panellist felt for us being caught up in the situation. Can’t remember who?
  15. “I feel for Essendon, they can’t take a trick. They were on track for a 3-0 start as they were going to be Melbourne today.” Kind words from M Lloyd on the Sunday footy show today.
  16. Because he’s a rich, privileged, pampered sooky footballer.
  17. Can someone tell me why Dwayne Russell implied a couple of times tonight that the Melbourne v Geelong (in addition to the Essendon V Carlton game) game next week is in doubt? What’s McKenna’s positive test got to with us, in terms of next week, considering all other games are going ahead for the time being.
  18. Any chance they play this game Tuesday or Wed night and then push our Geelong game back a day later to Monday night? The shorter quarters will mitigate shorter breaks. Or are Essendon out of business for 2 weeks?
  19. Got a reprimand under the ‘good bloke’ ruling, ala Burgoyne. If it were the other way around Sicily would’ve got 4 weeks. Can’t stand the AFL’s boys club.
  20. I’d play him every week regardless of form because we don’t have anyone else. He’ll build into the year. He needs to play closer to goals to utilise his elite set shot for goals.
  21. I hope they’ve planned for the potential of Hooker and Hurley to take a bunch of intercept marks. Hope they’ve also factored in playing a bunch of undercooked blokes in Bennell, VDB and Hannan.
  22. Heppell's a good out for them. He's a good presence in the middle of the ground. FYI - Gareth Lyon on SEN this morning - "I've got a feeling the Dees will get up and you know I hardly ever tip them"
  23. Yeah I thought they would've brought in Lockhardt for that reason to take on the Fantasias, Tippas, Smiths, Mckennas etc...
  24. In - Pickett out - ANB If the club had any integrity of selection, Jones, Melksham and Jackson should all be dropped. Jones had his career worst game and was a liability. Melksham needs a reality check. Seems to be coasting since returning from injury late last year. Jackson wasn’t ready. I liked how he won a couple of free kicks because his height troubled the opposition last week, however we’re playing for wins right now. Weird should be in and if he doesn’t cut it, then revert to Brown. Jackson to play if/when we’re out of the finals race. T Mac must be on thin ice as well.
