  1. Joel Smith deserved to retain his spot. Can’t remember how he went in the second half Vs Geelong but his first half was really good. His athleticism and pace to go with his opponent was evident. A massive step up from rd 2. Infact our defence of May, Lever, Smith and Hibberd functioned very well for most of the game. All things going well, Smith could potentially be a productive and versatile staple in our defence going forward.
  2. This year can go and get stuffed.
  3. Kent’s been excellent tonight. Our list management is a joke.
  4. I thought we was missed last week.
  5. Instead he plays VDB who could barley move on Sunday, had a whopping 1 kick and had the awareness of someone who'd been plucked off the street that morning and played their first ever game of football. We're losing games on Thursday nights.
  6. Richmond have been one of the sides affected by the lock down, so they may be a bit off their tucker on Sunday. Clutching at straws I know.
  7. Can they please pick Weideman this week? T Mac will play better with only 1 bloke contesting with him and Fristch can play as more of a small forward rather than being our full forward which didn't work on the weekend. (in fact nothing about our forward line worked last week)
  8. If we have back-back bottom 4 finishes, his position is surely under question. He's ultimately responsible as head of football for our shambolic forward line which will cost us so many games this year. He paid a fortune for a good and a BOG average defender and subsequently neglected our forward line, which was dynamic for a lot of 2018.
  9. Not impressed with his start to the season. 2.7 as our designated full forward is a poor effort, as well as dropping a sitter in the first quarter which would've gotten us on the scoreboard. And why does he always have his shots on an angle, which doesn't help his accuracy? Maybe he needs to roam up to the wings and have a Brown or Weideman come in to play deep at full forward. Melkham has also been diabolical this year with 1 goal in 3 games and a severe lack of defensive pressure (at least Fritsch provided this in rd 2) We all got excited with this duo after a 9 goal combined pre-season performance V's Hawthorn but both have been symptomatic of our dysfunctional fwd line.
  10. We desperately need another genuine key forward, even if it's a B grader such as Casboult. We lost on Sunday because of our dysfunctional forward line and we will lose the majority of our games this year because of our dysfunctional forward line. I was deeply concerned about our forward line over summer and it appears as though my fears have been realised. The head coach, head of football and list manager all have to be held severely accountable for this.
  11. AFL website reporting Carlton and St Kilda could play Thursday night.
  12. Melksham has to go. 3/3 horrid performances. How does Goody get the best out of who I thought was our best field kick in the side??
  13. The board will sell this as a re-build (we’re tons younger and inexperienced than Geelong ) as they can’t possibly sack Goodwin given the financial plight.
  14. Who was the genius that decided to experiment Harmes as a midfielder today?
  15. Seems like we’ve been the younger side in pretty much every games since 2008...
  16. Agreed. It hurts watching the game at home.
  17. They’re saying low grade at this stage so he’ll be borderline to play us in 2 weeks.
  18. I know you mean that in jest but it bugs me that whilst 99.999% of Victorians have done the right thing and made all the sacrifices these past few month, just like you Queenslanders, we are the ones that miss on going to the footy. I heard one of your politicians say that Queenslanders have all done the right thing and now deserve to go to the footy. Well so sure as hell have Victorians despite a minority spoiling it for all.
  19. Perhaps ring the club and they may assist? I doubt tickets will be sold to Victorians for obvious reasons. Edit - checked your profile and you’re from the GC, so you might be in with a chance.
  20. They’ve been a disgrace since COVID-19 became an issue and I note that they’re the only state that isn’t assisting Victoria in their current testing blitz.
  21. I was calling for a stand alone weekend while other sides have their mid season break and this article suggests it might happen. Hopefully we avoid a mid week game.
  22. Howe to miss 2-16 weeks.
  23. Probably the same thoughts about other states copping a COVID outbreak like we’ve got (given the rest of Australia’s lack of empathy and sympathy towards us) You obviously wouldn’t be happy if Howe’s our for weeks but at the same time you wouldn’t be upset for him either.
  24. Might be one of those injuries where it looks worse than it actually is.
  25. I thought Jetta was a bit stiff. The only time he lowered his colours in rd 2 was when he was on McKay who’s about 38 centimetres taller than him. I’m open minded about the changes, but it does seem very experimental at this stage. I hope the small forward line pays off. Hannan hasn’t fired a shot since late 2018 so he’ll need to perform on Sunday.
