  1. Any chance they play this game Tuesday or Wed night and then push our Geelong game back a day later to Monday night? The shorter quarters will mitigate shorter breaks. Or are Essendon out of business for 2 weeks?
  2. Got a reprimand under the ‘good bloke’ ruling, ala Burgoyne. If it were the other way around Sicily would’ve got 4 weeks. Can’t stand the AFL’s boys club.
  3. I’d play him every week regardless of form because we don’t have anyone else. He’ll build into the year. He needs to play closer to goals to utilise his elite set shot for goals.
  4. I hope they’ve planned for the potential of Hooker and Hurley to take a bunch of intercept marks. Hope they’ve also factored in playing a bunch of undercooked blokes in Bennell, VDB and Hannan.
  5. Heppell's a good out for them. He's a good presence in the middle of the ground. FYI - Gareth Lyon on SEN this morning - "I've got a feeling the Dees will get up and you know I hardly ever tip them"
  6. Yeah I thought they would've brought in Lockhardt for that reason to take on the Fantasias, Tippas, Smiths, Mckennas etc...
  7. In - Pickett out - ANB If the club had any integrity of selection, Jones, Melksham and Jackson should all be dropped. Jones had his career worst game and was a liability. Melksham needs a reality check. Seems to be coasting since returning from injury late last year. Jackson wasn’t ready. I liked how he won a couple of free kicks because his height troubled the opposition last week, however we’re playing for wins right now. Weird should be in and if he doesn’t cut it, then revert to Brown. Jackson to play if/when we’re out of the finals race. T Mac must be on thin ice as well.
  8. Can someone please explain to me why Frost was a mistake riddled disaster at times for the MFC, but as soon as he puts on an HFC jumper he turns into a slick, skilful and reliable defender?
  9. He once turned a game around against GC in 2017 with 3 sausages up forward. Not as silly as it sounds.
  10. What’s the equivalent of the Coleman leader board for behinds because Fritta would be leading that comfortably with 6. Hopefully it’s just a phase but he’s not a pure set shot sort of player unfortunately.
  11. I’ve fallen for the wet conditions so many times. Trust me we’re even worse in the wet weather and I can’t recall us winning a game in recent years on a genuine wet day. At this stage they’re only predicting a shower or 2 on Sunday so it might not even rain during the game.
  12. Our next 3 game will be on the channel 7 3:20 timeslot.
  13. How did you watch training? Behind the fence? Or are you allowed into the stadium? As for Zac Jones, yes we should've gone for him irrespective of Nate. I wanted him last off season because of his pace and us having a sever lack of it. St Kilda's trades really paid off the other night, but it's just one night.
  14. I wonder if any MFC members would be entitled to a ticket for this one?
  15. I can't believe people have suggested Hunt to be dropped. Carlton would've killed for forward to bang home 3 goals on the weekend.
  16. I picked up on that too. All winning clubs don't leave the ground until the last player has been interviewed - particularly the captain!
  17. Not an overly big issue but I can't imagine a professional organisation such as Richmond or Collingwood accidentally allowing this to happen. It was cringe worthy watching the song on live TV with the knowledge that the skipper was still on the ground. #Melbourne
  18. May was horrid on the weekend. We’re entitled to expect much better from him. His kicking was way off and a costly marking attempt resulted in a Carlton goal.
  19. I don't think I've ever come across a game where both sets of supporters were ropeable with the result - including the winners.
  20. Some of the above questions and claims are valid, however dropping Hunt next week has been one of the more perplexing suggestions over the last couple of years.
  21. What happened to the player that once managed a 37 possession/3 goal game in 2018? How does someone go from potential stardom to an average plodder? Is he being played out of position, is he being poorly coached or did he peak as a player way before his prime years.
  22. On form Melksham should be dropped. Hasn't fired a shot since the Gold Coast game last year. Disappointing as I really rate him. Jones had his career worst game on the weekend. Not good signs for an old player such as him. Having said that, ANB didn't do much in the second half. Both Jones and Melksham have far more upside than ANB by way of contributing to a win. ABN's stiff but he was the player to replace Pickett, and will likely make way for him unless they want to make an early season statement like they did with Hibberd.
  23. Essendon's win over Freo was as poor as our win on Saturday. They fell to pieces in the last quarter and only the siren saved them. I can recall their supporters were as savage as ours after that win over Freo They played pretty good footy yesterday against Sydney, but unlike the premier sides, they kept on giving Sydney a sniff right to the end. Essendon are a 7th-10th side this year, but will be had to beat with their pace and run.
  24. Agree with that. Their only tall is McKernan who I rate and killed us last year with 4 goals despite playing out the game with a pinged hammy. Certainly a lot shorter than Carlton's fwd line, but Stringer, McDonald-Tippa, Smith and Fantasia (if selected) will provide a handful. Therefore next week might not be the week to bring back O Mac because they ain't dropping Lever or May. On the flip side, we may need to go for some height up forward as Hooker and Hurley could mark everything given our sub-parinside 50 entries. Maybe bring in Weed and retain Jackson or drop Jackson to also include Brown.
