NON MFC: Round 17
HAWKS goal! 14-48

NON MFC: Round 17
Might be the only way in for us. A 5 goal win by GWS will make things interesting.

NON MFC: Round 17
This is one of the worst performances of any side this year thus far - by Hawthron.

NON MFC: Round 17
My oath it does. And theyโll overtake us by half time at this rate.

NON MFC: Round 17
Geez the Dogs are annoying me at the moment. Firstly, they play the game of their season against us. Secondly, they upset WC which was the game that will come back to haunt us. Thirdly, unlike us they look switched on against a bottom side and are likely heading for a 10 goal win.

My 3 word player analysis V GWS
14/22 got a fail mark according to you in a very good win. Interesting.

If we make finals I will ...
Will celebrate long and hard until I realise weโre off to Optus Stadium in week 1. The Dogs beating WC last week was so costly in terms of our finals chances (as well as our stuff ups)

TEAMS: Rd 17 vs GWS
Unless Bennell has had his kicking foot amputated since the Adelaide game, he shouldโve got a game this weekend. Iโm damn well sick of the atrocious kicking and decision making of this side at the moment.

Shorter Qtrs & 28 Rounds in 2021?
I donโt care if the games are reduced to 2 minute quarters next year, I just want to see footy back in Victoria for 2021.

NON MFC: Round 17
A couple of 20 point wins for the Dees and a 20 point St Kilda loss would see us play finals. Time for Goodwin to pull out a coaching master class over the last fortnight.

NON MFC: Round 17
Extraordinarily poor loss by St Kilda. Were gifted the win at the selection table with all those West Coast outs, AND McGovern pulling a hammy before half time. St Kilda, Essendon and Melbourne kind of remind me of each other.

NON MFC: Round 17
Kent - 1 handball in 3 qtrs of footy.

Shorter Qtrs & 28 Rounds in 2021?
I hate the shorter quarters too but at least 18 minute quarters are an improvement on this year. (I assume the proposal is 18 minutes + time on)

THE RUN HOME 2020
I was confident WC would beat St Kilda until I found out West Coast were missing their entire 2018 premiership midfield.

THE RUN HOME 2020
The Dogs beating West Coast was the major set back IMO. I was surprised Demonlanders didn't make a song and dance about it, and a couple were here were even happy they won. Knowing us we'll beat GWS and then be down by 7 goals at qtr time against Essendon.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs GWS
The club needs to take a deep breath with selections, stop out smarting themselves and pick a best 22 on paper. That means: No Wagners, Bedfords, Bakers or ANB's. They are not good enough to take us anywhere. No Preuss if Gawn is in the side. I thought Goodwin and Co get paid enough to realise that this hasn't worked in the 5 or 6 times they've played together. This is entry level selection that a 12 year old could see. Get rid of Joel Smith. We have a 1-4 record when he's in the side and our defence doesn't seem to gel when he's in the side. Play T Mac who is a professional goal kicker in a team that's crying out for one. Play Lockhart or Jetta. We have been absolutely destroyed by small forwards this year. Play Harmes if he's available and give him a big job.

The Travel Factor
100% spot on. We drew the short straw because we hadn't yet played Sydney and Freo. It's all to do with bad luck with respect to the scheduling. But we can't blame the AFL for the slop we've dished in Cairns. As you said, in a perfect world we would've stayed in Manly and played our home games at Giants Stadium where we played very well in July. Goody made it clear that the club was happy in Manly, prior to being shipped out again after only 2 weeks. I'm done with this season. Let me know when the games are proper length and most of us around here can actually attend the games.

Gary Pert on The Deebrief
That is absolutely incorrect from Pert. Unless he considers St Kilda or an injury depleted Collingwood a top side?

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs GWS
If the most unskilled club in the league can't fit in a highly talented (albeit not at peak fitness) player such as Bennell this week, then I suspect that club and player have unofficially parted ways.
- POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Fremantle

Tom McDonald
Has to come in this week. Is 10 times the player that Preuss and Smith are who have no business being in the side. T Mac's form has been down this year, but should come in for the last fortnight to try and build some confidence into next year. Plus, he's a professional goal kicker. We have bugger all of that ilk.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Are you suggesting WC will throw tomorrow nights game just so they finish outside the top 4? Its that kind of year.
-
Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
I chop and change: I want him back when we're playing like a dumpster fire and battling to kick 4 goals a game against bottom 5 garbage sides. I don't want him when we're up and about and look like a half decent side with a bit of forward potency - eg - 100 points V's Collingwood.

THE RUN HOME 2020
We're cooked fellas. We can throw the "St Kilda losing two games option" out the window. Eagles missing pretty much their entire midfield tomorrow night including Shuey, Yeo, Sheed and Redden. https://www.afl.com.au/news/498217/decimated-eagles-make-five-forced-changes-but-no-excuses
