Would be peak Melbourne to lose this game if the Suns had to bring their home game to us.
-
Channel 7 reckon we’ll have the 3:10 timeslot this Saturday afternoon. Venue not confirmed. Marvel available on Saturday. Just saying….

Round 2 2014. We lost a tight one by 93 points. I don't think we've been fixtured as the home team since mid 2015 when we played them in Darwin. Your idea sounds awesome but we'd never be this lucky.

There's clearly economic benefits for the NRL to move up to QLD, just like the AFL last year. Conversely Brisbane flying down to VIC provides no benefit to QLD. Their chief health officer showed her hand last year when she admitted that Hollywood superstars would be given priority over the run of the mill nothing special Australian who applied for special consideration to come into that state.

If Geelong are a little off their tucker I can see North rolling them down in Hobart. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for us, Geelong are way too mature to drop this sort of game this late in the season. I'd expect the Dees to get clearance to play GC at Metricon on Saturday twilight.
-
I assume they've made a typo with the GC V Melbourne game being at the GABBA. Would probably prefer it at the GABBA given that we had a winning record at the GABBA and a losing record at Metricon last year. I'm sure we'll play this game in QLD. That state will always provide exemptions where there's possible economic benefits to suit them.

I think we need to cop 1 or 2 of Melksham's half hearted defensive efforts in exchange for the offensive rewards he can provide going the other way. Yes, if he fails to impact then he's gone for good, but we need to mix things up a bit. The Dogs are the best side in the league and they make 4 changes a week.
-
Agree with all that. I like your ins in Melksham and Jones. Bring in some veterans to help us get to the rd 23 finish line. LJ and JJ to be rested completely from footy. Jackson has had 3 kicks in 2 weeks and one of them went straight to his opponent in Tim English. Jordon looked off the boil on the weekend and was a far cry from the cool and composed player we've seen this year. Harmes was just plain bad.

It's not at all confirmed. It may well be 3:20pm as the poster has suggested, but certainly not confirmed.
-
I'm fine with that. As long as they don't implement this stance in September 2021 which would shut out the cohort of people that are ineligible to get the recommended vaccine until further notice.
-
Assuming this will be the stock standard Saturday 4:35pm Metricon game? In - Melksham, Weid Out - Harmes, Jackson
-
You don’t want to play Essendon week 1 finals? Assuming we fall out of the Top 4, Essendon would be the side I’d most want to play against. More so than GWS.
-
This is a massively different Geelong side to the one we took care of in round 4 (and dare I say it’s also a different MFC side of late)
-
Smith turning us down was a bit of a disaster for us IMO. He’s exactly what we need. 25 touches and a goal a week on the non Langdon wing.

POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs

There must be 2-3 changes next week or Goodwin’s asleep at the wheel. -
Jackson (3 kicks in 2 weeks), ANB Jordon and Harmes should be under pressure. Time to make some changes when we’re just 2 wins since the Brisbane win, way back in early June. Melksham and Jones probably need to come into the side.

A bloke who’s 164 cm is dominating this game. -
I reckon we’ll get crowds back in VIC by round 22, assuming lockdown is lifted on schedule. Hopefully we’re still scheduled to play Adelaide that weekend, and it’s not brought forward for any reason.

Any chance we could kick more goals than behinds tonight? -
Like the look of Henry from Collingwood.
-
Port love an easy kill. And why do the bottom teams play out of their skins against us but turn to water against the other contenders?
-
Can someone tell Abbey Holmes to tone down on the dramatics? Pendles has got a minor knock to the leg, not a career ending fractured leg in 8 pieces.
-
Pert will be tipped over the edge if the Adelaide game is brought forward to next week. That’s our last home game (on around 15 Aug) for the year and a chance for a crowd if we come out of lock down next week. No chance we’re having crowds next week in VIC, I wouldn’t think.

Whateley is leading the brigade that if the capacity isn't around 55K it shouldn't be at the G.
