  1. Anyone give the Blues a sniff this evening? Would be a handy result. If we miss out on top 2 we can 100% blame the Adelaide loss. It should never have come down to an umpiring decision in the final 20 seconds. They are a terrible footy club who are in full rebuild.
  2. 30 seconds into the game last night and JB opened up his mistake account by calling Kyle Langdon instead of Kyle Langford. No time to waste there.
  3. I hope you’re right and we didn’t just get sent there on a whim without any financial benefit. Ofcourse they wouldn’t dream of sending the Dogs to play GC in Darwin which is instead next week at Metricon. Burgess will earn his bucks for this one in terms of recovery. We’ve never had a 6 day break after Darwin. Having said all that, the AFL have an infactuation with Essendon at the moment and their game against Sydney could very well be the Friday night that weekend and the Dees V Dogs in a stand alone Saturday night game.
  4. That genuinely sucks for you. I had fares booked for this one but will put it towards a travel bank and use it if we have to play Brisbane in the finals up there. I highly recommend Star City Casino (formerly Jupiters). They have a bunch of screens in the sports bar and also a few tv screens in a nice outdoor balcony area to enjoy the footy with a frothie. Most of the pubs in Surfers and Broadbeach are NRL centric.
  5. I wonder if Pert was consulted about this or if we were simply the bunnies that have copped the trip to Darwin to satisfy a GC Suns contract? The only thing worse about playing in Darwin (from a recovery perspective) is playing as the away team and not receiving a cent in return. As for Alice Springs, they couldn’t possibly play the Adelaide game there later in the year. That would be Darwin, Melbourne,, Perth, Alice Springs and Geelong to end the season. We have way bigger fish to fry than taking a tour all around Australia just before finals.
  6. In 2018 we played and beat the Dogs off a 7 day break after Darwin.
  7. A bit unlucky if we’re being honest. We’ll have a likely 6 day break into the Bulldogs Friday night game the following round, and we don’t get the luxury of the NT home gate. (Plus I and many other Dee supporters would’ve already booked airfares to GC, where this game was originally scheduled)
  8. I honestly don’t know if you’re being serious or funny/sarcastic (been a long week) but the Crows are getting worse as the season goes on at a great rate of knots.
  9. BT at it again: ”Adelaide gradually getting better as the season goes on” Adelaide after round 4: 3 wins / 1 loss Adelaide from round 5-16: 2 wins/9 losses
  10. Why wouldn’t they put Carlton V Geelong on Friday night as opposed to this garbage? Surely a good team vs a mediocre team is better than a mediocre team vs a bottom team. The AFLPA said no to Dogs V Sydney.
  11. All the buzz these days is coaching succession planning but channel 7 have clearly neglected a commentary succession plan post Bruce and Dennis who were the best in the business. The fact the Friday night footy is headed up by 2 commentators that used to call the Sunday Channel 9 off broadway game in the early 2000's is a clear reflection of not planning for the future. Channel 7 need to have a nibble at Anthony Hudson.
  12. Clearly Brisbane losing is the desired result for every remaining week. Would rather avoid them at the GABBA in week 1.
  13. I can kind of understand Essendon being on Friday night as they'll be entertaining and free flowing on a dry Marvel deck, but playing a dog ordinary Adelaide?? Really? Carlton V Geelong probably could've been a better option given neither side is coming off a 5 day break...if nothing else but to give us Demon fans someone to barrack for. We know the reasons as to why Dogs V Sydney isn't on Friday night.
  14. BT often says things that either don't make sense or are simply out of context. For example, earlier in the year a team was coming from way behind and had a set shot for goal to put themselves within only a couple of goals down. BT in commentary said "this shot could blow the game wide open". Isn't that phrase reserved for teams that have banged on a few goal in a row to put the game beyond doubt? BT's that irritating, I'd actually rather a 78 year old Peter Landy heading up the Friday night call than BT. Bruce has been a shocking loss IMO. He was irritating but he didn't make the sloppy errors that BT, Darcy, JB and co make.
  15. I mentioned this last night but Jobe Watson was praising our off season recruitment of Ed Langdon last summer. I will say though that Justin Leppitsch has been a good appointment and is light yeas ahead of the other special commentators in the Ch 7 stable.
  16. Without hesitation I would say BBB's performance last night was better than Weid's performance against Brisbane.
  17. We’re 6-0 when we got in as outsiders. Any chance Hawthorn can go in as favourites next week?
  18. “Langdon’s been a great recruit this year for Melbourne” - insightful comments from Jobe Watson.
  19. Three of T Macs best games this year have come when BBB has been in the side.
  20. It’s 35-21 marks Port’s way.
  21. The first bounce was Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and Pickett. Pickett and Hopper were manned up on each other.
  22. Mollison umpired the Adelaide V Melbourne debacle but unsure whether he was the one that paid the incorrect call.
  23. I can handle getting done if tonight if we lose fair and square and Port outscore us by 8-10 scoring shots, as disappointing as that would be. What I can't handle is if they win say 12.6 to 8.15 and we've literally kicked ourselves out of another game. We need to respect our set shots way more than we have of late, eg - Fritsch missing a set shot around the body from 15-20 out last week as well as Pertacca missing a 40 mtr shot directly in front. I think the winner scores no more than 12 goals tonight.
  24. Strong possibility it will be Darcy or JB. Probably Hamish as the other. We'll also be blessed with Timmy Watson's young son in the special comments booth.
