  1. Has the Brisbane captain finished her speech yet?
  2. A trade up for George would be handy. We can wait for 12 mths for his knee to heal. Amazing potential Question: is it possible for us to trade up, select George knowing he'll be put on long term injury list, keep 37 and use that pick? Would have us with one too many on the list, however, George goes on LTIL
  3. Geez, 5 mins of speeches by Brisbane players before a single Melbourne player gets near the stage. Think the AFL and Ch 7 forgot who actually won
  4. That's what she said!
  5. I guess both have a high water content an ripen around the same time of year... You might be onto something
  6. He looks like an annoying little p rick. I 100% dislike Charlie Clarke already Let's get him!

Interesting what might happen if there were two players we liked available after selection 11 or 12. Would we deal then on the night for two picks in the later teens if we thought they might be available around 18 or 19? I love that we've kept our cards close, most draft watchers have no idea what we will do
  8. Your post is conjecture in entirety. Runs second to the title of this thread in the sweeping statement stakes You cannot compare where we were when Watts was drafted with where we are now. Might as well compare zucchinis with watermelons. How's that for a sweeping statement!

I believe they got you and Bitter but optimistic mixed up at customs. Easy mistake
  11. Do you think the standard of footy in the clips on his thread do justice to showing his ability for us to take him at 37? Its easy to get sucked into a flashy prospect playing in a lower standard Can you show a table of his stats? HST, I have not seen him live or watched more than his highlights, but I consider him a late pick or rookie. I trust Lamb and Taylor to be all over it and make the right call based upon best available at 37, regardless of whose NGA he is tied to

The difference between the life where he comes from and a chilly winter in a city of 5 million could not be more stark. Its tough for anyone to deal with The standard of footy in all of these clips is pedestrian at best. It is not a true reflection of his ability, be it good or otherwise He won't be used for our 13 or 37. IMO he's a late pick or rookie, in which case Essendon will be in the best position to judge due to him being tied to their academy. Sorry @Supreme_Demon, but he's a pass
  13. To not draft from interstate any more is to wave the white flag and say we don't back our system, player welfare, development or future success. We might as well pack up shop. Seriously. This is amongst the silliest things I've ever heard suggested

  15. They are a rabble. Would love to have the saints 2023 1st round pick (or Hawks for that matter)
  16. Didn't the AFL require clubs to put in a clause for coaching contracts that there would only be a 6 month payout should they part ways? I believe it was for clubs that agreed to have the AFL bankroll them during the pandemic. Anyone recall this? Would make it far easier for clubs to sack coaches
  17. Harley Reid looks amazing too in 2023. Remember that he just turned 17yo in these clips https://twitter.com/AFL/status/1580084493138132993?s=20&t=1stiangZvCh474rusvlyAQ
  18. Agreed, but doubt he'll be there at 13 (14). Fingers crossed. Classy left footer with great composure and decision making Bottom age, only just slipped into this year's draft Go the Poo!
  19. One of the beauties of 37 (even if it ends up being 39) is it puts us just before the NGA 40 cut off. So if Lamb and Taylor think an NGA from another club has been somewhat tucked away, they have a chance to select them
  20. I was under the impression that clubs couldn't offload early picks for multiple later picks for points to get f/s nominees. Clubs could only hold the number of picks for the number of vacancies they had. How were the Bears given the green light to get rid of their 1st rounder for 2nd and 3rd rounders? They now have 7 picks in this draft to cover for Will Ashcroft (possible #1) and Jaspa Fletcher (late 1st or early 2nd). Doubt they have 7 vacancies Having said that, we have young Brown next year and there's a #40 plus chance for NGA Riak Andrew, brother of Mac
  21. In this case we are the 'Love Schache'
  22. I thought Gunston was a certainty to come to us as FA? Or did GNF mean this fellow:
  23. So... Met directly with Freo mid year in-contract with MFC ❌ Said later in the year he hadn't thought too much about a new contract and was focused on footy ❌ Once Dogga indicated he was returning to WA was open to either club ❌ MFC said during trade time the Dogga hadn't indicated which club ❌ Honestly, what a dumb [censored] Dogga is. Surely his manager would've told him emphatically to not say anything too revealing, just thank MFC and the fans, say he's happy to be home and that he looks forward to playing footy next year. Amongst the most stupid things he could've said was that he met with Freo mid year and decided then that he was leaving to go there
  24. Plenty of AFL players change state and stay. A lot of posters assume they know the situation with Dogga, especially those calling him a "mummy's boy" (which really say more about the poster). He may well have extenuating circumstances we do not know of We also need to get better at poaching interstate players originally from Vic, though we did bloody well with Lever and Langdon I'm with those who say this topic is an overreaction
