  1. Do not play James Harmes again. Casey beckons. Momentum killer
  2. Wise choice Maple. Going to down a Yukon Jack or two?
  3. 3 first rounders for pick 1??? JT would want to be extreeeeeemely confident Reid is a unicorn Mind you, our three first round picks will not be high end. About 10, 16 in 2023 and next year around 16. Can't see it happening
  4. With a training ground named like that, Freo supporters should be quiet and remain a small target

Is HH a FA this year? Would def have a crack if so
  6. As a volunteer goal umpire at U14 level, I've twice in the last 3 weeks I've had to tell parents on the boundary to STFU due to them gobbing off at the umpires, their kid and even the coaches (who are parents!). It's a blight on the game at junior level. If jules7's post is accurate, Nathan should shut up and let the kid play in peace
  7. Could be. Brown might be matched in the 20s, so might be wise to bundle our 1st and Freo 2nd to move up. Reckon we'll use Freo's 1st (10ish) and a trade up to low teens. 10 + 13 + Kynan Brown Will be interesting to see if we do something with our future 1st
  8. No, no reason to boo But I will do this if we play poorly

    An opening for Ooze?

Clarry out with hammy, Tracc playing with proppy ankle. This will be a massive test of Goodwin's coaching

Means Coll are now 2 games ahead of us. Hate them with a passion

Or to the pokies to prop up their club coffers
  16. The best list we've had in nearly 60 years not being optimized due to a stubborn fd. Easier to stick with the brand and underperform than blow up our anxiety, make some bold decisions and take risks. During the Brisbane game, the lights coming back on flicked a switch for us too. We played daring, fast footy, took some skillful risks and came out a whisker from winning the game. All this after 3.5 quarters of stubborn 'brand' that saw us 5 goals down (and should've been 8-10). Goody would've been cacking his dacks for that last 10 mins The 2023 Melbourne brand is sooooo 2021
  17. Good word to describe where we are currently at. Do they want it enough.
  18. Absolutely agree. Just mentioned the same in another thread. Viney not as quick as Butters, but his physicality would've countered him

Should've put Viney on Butters after quarter or half time. Viney wasn't on fire anyway, a shut down role would bring him into the game. Not as quick as Butters, but his physicality would prevent him getting another million disposals.
  20. Great season so far. But I have only half my hair left watching his clangers
  21. The best answer to that is: almost certainly Hinkley would've played those guys missing from last night's game if they were fit/available. They make Port a better side
  22. Interesting in Goody's presser he said they chose to not make Butters accountable after half time once we hit our purple patch in the 3rd. Yet Butters still had 18 in the 2nd half, incl 9 contested, and kicked 2 goals Had he been shut down we would've won Dumb, stubborn coaching

That we've kicked the most points by last round (pointed out by Goody during the week) is fools gold to those thinking our forward game is working at all. Too many go missing too often, we have no tall forwards (not rucks) deserving of a game. We beat up on lower teams and get found out against top 8 sides This year we won against WB in R1, that's it for top 8. Yet to play Coll, Geel St K or Adelaide. Our saving grace is more games against Norf and Hawthorn I have no doubt that without Tracc and Oliver we'd be in the bottom 8. We are rooted if they go down
  24. Port had a bunch of best 22 out (Marshall, Duursma, Dixon, Jnr Rioli, Fantasia) and Boak subbed off with half his ribs still stuck in Viney's shoulder. Short of Petty, that was arguably our best side 20 mins of good footy out of 100 Wasting the best list we've had in nearly 60 years.
