  1. Better to go phonetically rather than spelling, or both. Craig I. Eburn sounds wrong
  2. Club President: Craig E. Burn
  3. They are always going to put the whistle away on contentious decisions last quarter in close games. Always. Reckon it's an AFL decision, not individual umpires making the call And then afterwards, 'nothing to see here' I could bet my left πŸ₯œ on it every time
  4. At the time, I said to the guy sitting next to me in the stand that they would not change the umpires call no matter where the ball was, as they no longer change decisions or make contentious decisions in close games. It's real 'head in the sand' stuff from the umpires dept. The JVR trip is absolute proof of that. What I was more disappointed by was the insipid attempt at goal line shepherding by the Melbourne players. They were out of position and made feeble efforts too late. Doent matter that the ball came in fast from Trac, someone, anyone should've been on the goal line ready to shepherd. And don't get me started about Salem's shot on goal from 48m out when Kossie was in front of him running clear for the pass 20m out, 45 deg angle. Easy set shot. Do they put horse blinkers on when they get the ball inside 50??? Arghhh!
  5. Anyone know much about this fella? From AFL site: SANDRINGHAM Dragons prospect Charlie Edwards has clubs watching him as the big-bodied midfielder makes a late dash up the draft board. "He had that breakout game against Dandenong and he just controlled the ball. He can play as inside and outside midfielder and is a very good athlete," said Mark Wheeler, Sandringham's talent manager. Edwards played for the Dragons at the start of the year but had limited pre-season given his strong cricket talents, however, he has taken the eye of scouts in recent weeks.
  6. If the AFL had any skerrick of credibility or transparency they'd call this out as a breach of salary cap and fine them to the firey depths of hell. Alas....
  7. Is this a Gary Sidebottom thread?
  8. A gutsy, body on the line player. Vale
  9. Would've thought the place kick was your go to
  10. Me too Really want Joel Smith to keep to improving. Build confidence, take a few big marks, show the wider football community he's more than just a VFL player Go get em, young man!
  11. You must be the only Melbourne supporter on earth that doesn’t wish Nick Daicos was a Demon. Who do you support Pickett? 🀣
  12. Gee... imagine if we traded up and landed Curtain and Duursma, as well as Kynan Brown... maybe Freo's 2nd rounder (24) in there as well Our 2023 1st (18) and 2024 1st (18) for GC Pick 7. Maybe our 2nd if need be (36). These will be pushed back with bid matches 4 + 7 + 24 + Brown Archer Reid with 24 Wowee, oh boy!!!
  13. Rubbish. He's still a pup and his contested game will continue to get better. He put his body on the line, broke his leg and continued to play, that's not soft. If he played for us you'd be turning, and leaving Mrs Fence for him
  14. I actually really like watching Toby Greene, even against us. Would like him even more if Roos has spent that packet of chips on him when he was coach Tex would've been great in red and blue (no yellow). Didn't someone here say he was a certainty to join us? Or have I got that mixed up?? I dislike Jordan DeGoey immensely, but acknowledge his prodigious talent and wish he was a Dee
  15. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1003332 "FORMER Gold Coast rookie Luke Towey is keen to reignite his AFL career after heading back to Ireland. Towey was a category B rookie for the Suns before he was delisted at the end of 2021 after two COVID-interrupted seasons and list cuts across the competition. The speedy 24-year-old went back to Ireland to play Gaelic football, but is working with leading player agent Colin Young to explore his options back in Australia on an AFL list. With the AFL looking to expand its footprint again with Irish recruits, Towey said he was keen to explore another chance at the level. "
  16. The Richmond guy identifies as a cat
  17. I want, in order 1. Reid, or 2. Another highly skilled mid eg. the Tassie kid, or 3. High class med sized forward who can push into the midfield eg. Duursma
  18. Reckon you are right, but they might also be burnt by the Horne Francis home sickness saga. Curtain might be open to moving interstate
  19. Weren't you the guy who used to request other posters meet for "a coffee" when you were angry with them? Hmmmm....
  20. I did have a chuckle when Viney came off with the blood rule after a cut on his face and Gerard Healey commentated that the only surprising thing was that it was Viney's blood and not his opponent's!
  21. The optimist in me says the path is clearing for us to bring home our 14th πŸ† Many things are going right (despite Petty's injury) and a bunch of teams around us look shakey Long may it continue into September!
  22. Dont know, Kent. But i highly doubt Grundy wants to remain a back up ruck. Hence why he's now a Casey forward I remember thinking Preuss could be our long term back up ruck, but he too seemed to want the no 1 job. Not that Preuss and Grundy are of equal standing, but IMO a past AA ruck on ~$1mill won't be happy as a back up ruck We'll know soon after we win our 14thπŸ† in a couple of months!
  23. You dont know that, just another bombastic shut down
  24. Think you might be right, dazzle. Maybe I got my wires crossed
  25. FMD! Hes a brute Lets do it WCE need to rebuild with multiple top picks. We need to extend our window with the best high end class there is. You know it makes sense
