  1. Spot on. I was watching him too and felt that he was looked very reactive to every situation. No early body work, no early leads. Just watching the ball and getting pushed out of the contest. Allowed for his defender to go uncontested and BB to get blocked by his.
  2. I’m in Perth today and have a few hours to watch the footy. Anyone recommend a great pub in the CBD to watch?
  3. Can the title of this thread be replaced as “Non-Narrm: Round 10, 2022”?
  4. If Swans back ended Dusty’s contract, could definitely see them in premiership contention with Buddy, Dusty and Heeney up forward and their pretty strong midfield. Meanwhile, with the oldest average age list in the AFL (27.1?) we wouldn’t be hearing from Richmond for a while.
  5. Martin is no doubt the GOAT for big game matches. But GOAT of all time? Please. Surely Ablett Jnr would get a look in with 2x premierships, 2x Brownlow, 3x AFL Coaches Association player of the year, 5x AFL Players Association player of the year, 8x All Australian, 4x club leading goal kicker^, 6x club B&F*, 357 games… and carried a whole team on his back for 6 years! ^1x Geelong 3x GCS, *2x Geelong 4x GCS
  6. So many courageous acts tonight - particularly from Brayshaw and Gawn. It’s amazing to think how normalised this has become. The thing I’m struggling is, is determining how good we are. We’re clinical and efficient, which sometimes hides things. All commentators claimed how good Saints were to get close to us last week even though we completely dominated. Even tonight the commentators were carrying on about West Coast and we pumped them by 12 goals! For once I would like us to get out of second gear… guess we can look forward to seeing how bloody good we are in finals!!!!
  7. Regulation win - how good is that!
  8. I think the drafting under the Bailey period was horrible, and I don’t think many great coaches could make success from that list. Notwithstanding, I think Neeld was a very, very bad coach. I hope we can all move on at some stage, and I take a lot of solace knowing we got here from there, but bloody hell that was tough. I like the way Noble takes the game on. Same as Dew. It’s not always the best score outcome but they are playing the right type of game, which when they have the right talent will do them well. Compare that to Hinkley’s game which was to shut everything down against us, that was deplorable. So no, Noble isn’t Neeld. And to be frank, I don’t want any team to experience that… except for Hawthorn.
  9. Dean Bailey was a very nice guy. But I still have bad memories on some of the drafting during his tenure. Cook at pick 12 to never play game, Gysberts at 11, Tapscott at 19. Plus Junior was let go way too early. Neeld was a poor coach, but bloody hell inheriting that list is the equivalent of being up s**t creek without a paddle.
  10. I’m finding the indirect effects of Covid has been stopping me from getting to games. Too many births from iso activities, too many catch ups with people I haven’t seen because of travel, too many weddings which have been postponed for the past couple of years, and unfortunately too many deaths from family who wouldn’t go to doctors during that period which would have picked up some things. Overall, life just feel a bit busier as restrictions have ended and we’ve opened up. Coming off covid myself this week, I’m finally - and rather selfishly - extremely excited to be going this weekend.
  11. Does anyone know if this can be used as our clash? I love our indigenous gurnseys, would like to understand if they can be something more ingrained through the season.
  12. Not a problem monoccular. I read it in an article on The Age. Doesn’t attribute to any specific source though. https://amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/we-ve-got-a-plan-yze-to-lead-demons-as-goodwin-ruled-out-with-covid-19-20220427-p5aghm.html
  13. I don’t think we should rush players in from Covid. If they need it, give them another week to get back to normal and match fit. This can have quite an impact on different people and have to think about injuries if they come in unfit. Also, after watching the Saints game last night I really think they will struggle with recovery. They were absolutely cooked in that humidity and contest, let alone a travel day. Would prefer to see the same team as yesterday have another tilt.
  14. I’d like to see Bedford stay and play a sticky role on Sinclair. The Saints ability to move it quickly and accurately off half back is their key strength. In the past, say against the Dogs, has Spargo played this role? Alternatively Hunt.
  15. Awesome by Bedford. That running crum and his running goal were fantastic. Very hard to do and without him we would have looked even more flat. Depending on how some of the team recover, would love to see him get a second gig.
  16. Our next seven games include four teams immediately behind us on the ladder, two on the bottom and one which beat us last year!
  17. That head high impact to Dunstan was pretty rubbish. Was already being tackled and the other bloke elected to shoulder into his head. Should be reported for that.
  18. The closest similar incident I could think of to Cotchin’s studding was Campbell Brown’s 4 week suspension for studding James Strauss in the face back in 2013. Was deemed a secondary action requiring Strauss to get medical attention - together with Brown’s appalling record. Whilst Cotchin’s was a secondary movement too, Walker didn’t need medical attention and Cotchin has a relatively good record. Good call, play on.
  19. Haha you beat me to the edit! It’s the pronunciation of a keg party at the end of one… usually slurring the ‘eeee’s put a bit more!
  20. I’ve got a standing annual bet with a Bulldogs mate on which team finishes higher on the ladder. Been going on for about 7 years and has cost me dearly… but not this time! It rotates between a keg party or long lunch, and today’s the day! If you live around Nortcote, there is a strong weather warning of smugness 😁
  21. Cam Bolton is another one to look out for in the snowboard cross. Placed 3rd in the last World Cup last week. Absolute mad demons supporter, and has played in our demonland SuperCoach leagues too.
  22. Christian Petracca: “I stopped eating pasta 5 times a week…”
  23. Anyone know what the match worn guernseys went for?
  24. Her article about Goodwin the day before the grand final was atrocious. Took pot shots at his gambling background, Essendon drug history, divorce and near sacking. Absolute gutter journalism.
