  1. It was good seeing TMac being able to switch down back in the Geelong game to cover May. That versatility puts him ahead of Weids for me at the moment. That aside I can see him improving in the future and if he doesn’t want to go anywhere I wouldn’t trade him. Both Browns have injury history too.
  2. “which way are they going?”, “oh why did they do that?”, “my father says he’s texting you - why haven’t you responded?”, “oh good it’s the ad break, you can talk to me now”, “easy on the red wines, I don’t want you snoring”, “my grandmother wants to know how you’re feeling”, “oh well there is always next year” and my favourite “see, I’m a good footy commentator aren’t I?” to which my response is always
“yep, better than BT!” I love my wife but I need to watch this somewhere else.
  3. Hmmm the doggies are a very dangerous team. Deep and powerful midfield, who know how to put scoreboard pressure on too. This is going to be an awesome game.
  4. Given my ticket to a mate’s son (WCE supporter) who has been barracking for the Dees this finals
under the strict condition that he gets a scarf and doesn’t go home until he’s lost his voice. Go Dees!
  5. Just heard that the RSPCA has been inundated with calls about cat abuse.
  6. Win or lose I am so unbelievably proud of Jack Viney. What a game. Absolute finals footy efforts.
  7. I'd like to see the number of rules addressed. Make it easier for the umpires, and it aligns to the AFL’s vision of faster footy. Kicking in danger and 360 degree tackles being holding the balls are hardly paid. Get rid of them. Put the focus on the ones that matter. I’d rather see less holding the man and more blocking players from competing in marks. That’s more exciting footy. IMO the AFL did a similar approach to rucks taking possession and it’s been fantastic for fast flowing footy.
  8. Any further news on Bonts knee?
  9. Last time we met, we won three quarters - but got destroyed in a 20 minute patch lost in the midfield. Both teams played their own brand and we came out on top. Confident we can address what went wrong and come back harder!
  10. Don’t know why Taranto wasn’t played in the mid since the start. Has had an immediate impact.
  11. I’m available anytime for you Wrecker
  12. Well said - no one should feel like that in a sporting club or business. Regarding Bailey, no coach could ever keep their job after a 186 point loss. Plain and simple - he had to get the axe. Roos at the time was still on a big wicket at the Swans Academy and my understanding was that he wasn’t interested.
  13. It was once Hawkins, with a much less offensive action, and he copped a 1 match ban, which would have been 2 if he didn’t plead guilty.
  14. That’s like saying Sam Frost has a wiser head than Hunt because he’s played 129 games. Bowey seems a lot more composed in disposals than Hunt, hence the feeling of ‘wiser’. IMO a few commentators were echoing the same sentiment on the weekend too. 2021 Bowey: 16.4 disposals / 84.1% efficiency / 2.2 clangers Hunt: 13.7 disposals / 73.4% efficiency / 2.4 clangers
  15. As it’s been sent straight to the tribunal I don’t think he can submit an early guilty plea on this one? For Hawkins’ contact in 2018 they didn’t mount a defence and used their time to apologise. IMO that’s exactly what Greene should do. No justification, no defence, apologise and cop it.
  16. There are 9 offences which go straight to the tribunal without a plea
Greene has done two! Eye gouging and umpire contact.
  17. But there is a “me” and me paid for a guaranteed ticket and me wants to go Should we get in
  18. I think Matt Stevic was the same umpire involved with Hawkins? A lot of the recent cases of umpire contact below were quite careless and unintentional. The only one I can think of that that is similar in intent to Greene’s would be Greg Williams back in 1997 for 9 games. Has to be suspended, particularly when you watch some of the videos of the ones below. My guess would be 4 weeks. Tom Hawkins (2018) - 1 week, made contact with an umpires arm Ed Curnow (2018) - 1 week, minor push on an umpire. I think this was after a match review and the umpire said it was so fleeting he didn’t recall it? Heath Shaw (2009) - 1 week, grabbed an umpires shoulder Justin Koschitzke (2008) - 1 week, ran into the back of an umpire in the VFL whilst rucking
  19. BOG for Geelong is by far the men in yellow. 16 to 5
  20. Unchanged H&A to Finals
 gosh that feels good!
  21. Port seem a lot more dangerous with Fantasia in over Georgiades (injured). Our small forwards did well against Geelong.
  22. Coach and success aside, this process has been disgraceful. Would be incredibly demoralising for Teague, the coaching staff and players. This is the type of stuff which can seriously damage a business’ culture (similar to Adelaide’s performance camp).
