  1. I’ve gained 2kg over the past two weeks. I can’t stand this anymore. I’m a nervous wreck. Been trying to find comfort in wine and pasta. Made the mistake of watching one of our H&A games against the Dogs… you better believe that resulted in a 2014 Shiraz and pasta, butter and cheese. One more sleep to go. Thinking spagbol tonight.
  2. Pandemics, riots and earthquakes… the Demons are coming 😈
  3. Acknowledged his role was unlikely to continue when you get beaten by 186 points. Showed and read his diary entry for that day he got axed. Certainly didn’t get on Demonland 9 years later to have an unrelated pot shot.
  4. He was a guest at a virtual work workshop I was at a couple of weeks ago. Was frank about the past (Richmond and Melbourne), his firings, depression, life in general and life after football. No comments as you’ve described, but a lot more decorum than you.
  5. I’ve never been embarrassed to wear the red and blue. Certainly, it could have been easier, but it wasn’t. We were in a tough spot. $5m in debt at the start of the GFC, two expansion clubs, free agency and an ageing list. There have been a lot, particularly within this administration who have gotten us here, and sure things didn’t go well with coaching and draft selections back then, but my gosh Jim picked us up and put us on this journey. For if he didn’t start us off I don’t know if we would be here. This win would mean the world for me, but deep down this one is for Jim.
  6. It was good seeing TMac being able to switch down back in the Geelong game to cover May. That versatility puts him ahead of Weids for me at the moment. That aside I can see him improving in the future and if he doesn’t want to go anywhere I wouldn’t trade him. Both Browns have injury history too.
  7. “which way are they going?”, “oh why did they do that?”, “my father says he’s texting you - why haven’t you responded?”, “oh good it’s the ad break, you can talk to me now”, “easy on the red wines, I don’t want you snoring”, “my grandmother wants to know how you’re feeling”, “oh well there is always next year” and my favourite “see, I’m a good footy commentator aren’t I?” to which my response is always… “yep, better than BT!” I love my wife but I need to watch this somewhere else.
  8. Hmmm the doggies are a very dangerous team. Deep and powerful midfield, who know how to put scoreboard pressure on too. This is going to be an awesome game.
  9. Given my ticket to a mate’s son (WCE supporter) who has been barracking for the Dees this finals… under the strict condition that he gets a scarf and doesn’t go home until he’s lost his voice. Go Dees!
  10. Just heard that the RSPCA has been inundated with calls about cat abuse.
  11. Win or lose I am so unbelievably proud of Jack Viney. What a game. Absolute finals footy efforts.
  12. I'd like to see the number of rules addressed. Make it easier for the umpires, and it aligns to the AFL’s vision of faster footy. Kicking in danger and 360 degree tackles being holding the balls are hardly paid. Get rid of them. Put the focus on the ones that matter. I’d rather see less holding the man and more blocking players from competing in marks. That’s more exciting footy. IMO the AFL did a similar approach to rucks taking possession and it’s been fantastic for fast flowing footy.
  13. Any further news on Bonts knee?
  14. Last time we met, we won three quarters - but got destroyed in a 20 minute patch lost in the midfield. Both teams played their own brand and we came out on top. Confident we can address what went wrong and come back harder!
  15. Don’t know why Taranto wasn’t played in the mid since the start. Has had an immediate impact.
  16. I’m available anytime for you Wrecker
  17. Well said - no one should feel like that in a sporting club or business. Regarding Bailey, no coach could ever keep their job after a 186 point loss. Plain and simple - he had to get the axe. Roos at the time was still on a big wicket at the Swans Academy and my understanding was that he wasn’t interested.
  18. It was once Hawkins, with a much less offensive action, and he copped a 1 match ban, which would have been 2 if he didn’t plead guilty.
  19. That’s like saying Sam Frost has a wiser head than Hunt because he’s played 129 games. Bowey seems a lot more composed in disposals than Hunt, hence the feeling of ‘wiser’. IMO a few commentators were echoing the same sentiment on the weekend too. 2021 Bowey: 16.4 disposals / 84.1% efficiency / 2.2 clangers Hunt: 13.7 disposals / 73.4% efficiency / 2.4 clangers
  20. As it’s been sent straight to the tribunal I don’t think he can submit an early guilty plea on this one? For Hawkins’ contact in 2018 they didn’t mount a defence and used their time to apologise. IMO that’s exactly what Greene should do. No justification, no defence, apologise and cop it.
  21. There are 9 offences which go straight to the tribunal without a plea… Greene has done two! Eye gouging and umpire contact.
  22. But there is a “me” and me paid for a guaranteed ticket and me wants to go Should we get in
