  1. If LJ goes, then Hayes or Draper (latter contracted to end of 2023)
  2. Published a couple of days ago, so apologies if you’ve seen it already, but ooft…. https://www.afr.com/rear-window/josh-frydenberg-s-extraordinary-afl-game-20220626-p5awps
  3. Looks like he got back up not too long after! 🤞
  4. By the strength of his back and the sweat on his brow, Viney is going to get us over the line. What a legend.
  5. That’s ironic considering you’ve been the most offended on behalf of De Goey. But good news… at 7 posts and 5 replies you’re in the lead!
  6. Watching Fox Footy before today’s game and just heard that the Dees said it was May who threw the first punch. Anyone else heard this or am I slow to the news?
  7. Maybe a lesson to May in getting drunk and lippy…
  8. Anyone reckon Sam Draper could be an amazing apprentice under Gawn? Loved his ruck work, contest around the footy and his couple of snap goals. 205cm and 23 years old!
  9. You know what, as I woke up this morning the one of the first thoughts that ran through my head was: “that was a verb you muppet not an adjective” Explains my poor English results!!!
  10. Another adjective might be more appropriate thanks
  11. So I guess the umpire dissent rule has gone out the window? Stringer and Draper should have given 3 away by now
  12. Libba is such a [censored]
  13. I think you’re onto something here Sue. Looks like the rhetoric machine has started up. Was listening to the radio this afternoon and they made a good point that the way the rule is written is that it's irrelevant if it’s an open hand or fist.
  14. Spot on. I was watching him too and felt that he was looked very reactive to every situation. No early body work, no early leads. Just watching the ball and getting pushed out of the contest. Allowed for his defender to go uncontested and BB to get blocked by his.
  15. I’m in Perth today and have a few hours to watch the footy. Anyone recommend a great pub in the CBD to watch?
  16. Can the title of this thread be replaced as “Non-Narrm: Round 10, 2022”?
  17. If Swans back ended Dusty’s contract, could definitely see them in premiership contention with Buddy, Dusty and Heeney up forward and their pretty strong midfield. Meanwhile, with the oldest average age list in the AFL (27.1?) we wouldn’t be hearing from Richmond for a while.
  18. Martin is no doubt the GOAT for big game matches. But GOAT of all time? Please. Surely Ablett Jnr would get a look in with 2x premierships, 2x Brownlow, 3x AFL Coaches Association player of the year, 5x AFL Players Association player of the year, 8x All Australian, 4x club leading goal kicker^, 6x club B&F*, 357 games… and carried a whole team on his back for 6 years! ^1x Geelong 3x GCS, *2x Geelong 4x GCS
  19. So many courageous acts tonight - particularly from Brayshaw and Gawn. It’s amazing to think how normalised this has become. The thing I’m struggling is, is determining how good we are. We’re clinical and efficient, which sometimes hides things. All commentators claimed how good Saints were to get close to us last week even though we completely dominated. Even tonight the commentators were carrying on about West Coast and we pumped them by 12 goals! For once I would like us to get out of second gear… guess we can look forward to seeing how bloody good we are in finals!!!!
  20. Regulation win - how good is that!
  21. I think the drafting under the Bailey period was horrible, and I don’t think many great coaches could make success from that list. Notwithstanding, I think Neeld was a very, very bad coach. I hope we can all move on at some stage, and I take a lot of solace knowing we got here from there, but bloody hell that was tough. I like the way Noble takes the game on. Same as Dew. It’s not always the best score outcome but they are playing the right type of game, which when they have the right talent will do them well. Compare that to Hinkley’s game which was to shut everything down against us, that was deplorable. So no, Noble isn’t Neeld. And to be frank, I don’t want any team to experience that… except for Hawthorn.
  22. Dean Bailey was a very nice guy. But I still have bad memories on some of the drafting during his tenure. Cook at pick 12 to never play game, Gysberts at 11, Tapscott at 19. Plus Junior was let go way too early. Neeld was a poor coach, but bloody hell inheriting that list is the equivalent of being up s**t creek without a paddle.

I’m finding the indirect effects of Covid has been stopping me from getting to games. Too many births from iso activities, too many catch ups with people I haven’t seen because of travel, too many weddings which have been postponed for the past couple of years, and unfortunately too many deaths from family who wouldn’t go to doctors during that period which would have picked up some things. Overall, life just feel a bit busier as restrictions have ended and we’ve opened up. Coming off covid myself this week, I’m finally - and rather selfishly - extremely excited to be going this weekend.
