  1. This coming year, JVR and Fullarton
  2. Melbourne #6 -> North North #2 #6 -> West Coast (= Curtain & satisfies their want for 2 top 10 picks) West Coast #1 -> North (= Reid) North & West Coast Future First Rounds -> Melbourne Would you?
  3. Love it!!
  4. Am I right in that we are tied with Collingwood for the most amount of games at our preferred stadium (at 14)?
  5. Sounds like we’ll need to make a “Visy Environmental Ambassador” for $500k pa type offer to get him back out!
  6. Hi WCW, The post was on 17-October. Whilst you didn’t attack their post, your response about the futility of lobbying was: “What’s the point though? What would lobbying achieve? A grand total of ZERO is the answer. Seems the only time we get something favourable is when it’s by happenstance, ie. something favours the Collingwoods and Carltons and we somehow are involved. Even then I’m sure it’s not through lack of the AFL trying to negate such.”
  7. Great draw. If we perform we have a real opportunity for a top 4 finish. Sure others have better, but who cares. Most of the time an easy draw is a hubris trap and you’re not competing against the teams you’ll be playing in finals!
  8. Went downhill after Unilever bought it
  9. Hahaha I didn’t know that!
  10. I reckon the final nail was him going to the races the night before the grand final.
  11. Spot on. We should have said no to May.
  12. Greene had a very solid year and I was surprised they delisted him too. He has been injured a fair bit over his journey previously with the Dogs and I wonder if his latest knee injury is a part of this. He would struggle to get a spot with a fully fit JVR, Fritsch, Petty and Melksham, but would be in front of BB and TMac and only 25/6 years old.
  13. 🎾🎾 This year really hurt. 16.28… our premiership this year was in those points Collingwood - 9.6 Sydney - 9.14 St Kilda - 11.11 GWS - 15.11 Brisbane - 19.9 Port - 11.9 Carlton - 11.8 & 11.7 Melbourne - 7.11 & 9.17 We have the worst kicking of all finals teams. Just not good enough.
  14. And that win was last week, when we haven’t won one in 2 years! Historical stats like yours and mine can be abused. Objectively speaking, they’ve won 9 of their past 10 games which included beating Collingwood and Port Adelaide. As they sit right now they have a great midfield and defence, and therefore they are a great team. I genuinely believe that we are better. Still doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate who we’re against.
  15. I’ll caveat the following that I’m extremely nervous and that any team can honestly win it from here. Carlton are a great team, but with many threats from friends of 🎾 emojis (straight sets) incoming if we lose, I’ve got to believe the following… Dees by 36 Defence: May and Lever to dominate. McKay and Martin are massive outs. Martin is targeted more inside 50 than any other player. Midfield: We’ll have ruck advantage with TDK likely having to spend more time forward to fill McKay’s role. Carlton’s midfield has the tilt though. Forward: We’re down on stock, but if we can lower the eyes and stop the high entries, I think our strategy of playing small will beat their tall defence. Hoping the Dees to open strong in 1Q, expect an arm wrestle 2-3Q, then a blow out 4Q.
  16. I reckon he’ll get off. It’s moments like this that can galvanise a team. 12 quarters of footy. That’s all we’re asking for and left. Do it for Gus and beat them fair and square - unlike what they did to us.
  17. Can you please limit the death (been over a few posts) references, torture and assaulting posters and Hitler. It’s offensive and in poor taste to some of the broader discussion of a players welfare. If you want to post about things other than Maynard like the upcoming Carlton game, there is already a seperate thread for this. Lastly, I’d suggest that if you're asking “who cares about Maynard” in a thread titled “Maynard must get 4 weeks”, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Move on mate.
  18. And for all of his line up and preparation, he couldn’t even touch the ball
  19. He looked genuinely out of it when the team was singing the song in the rooms too.
  20. What I hate most from the commentators and media was them all saying that Maynard couldn’t delete himself when in the air. It’s pretty simple - don’t jump. The moment you jump you lose all ability to manoeuvre and that is why his action was careless. Tackling, bumping, spoiling are all footy actions. But the moment you jump and forgo any control of the situation or outcome, you’re being careless. Careless is after all defined as: “not giving sufficient attention or thought to avoiding harm or errors”. Lastly, about duty of care… watch the replay, Brayshaw had his head down to kick and the ball had started dropping before Maynard jumped…
  21. My observation at the game was a lack of forward strategy / structure. Everyone was going to the same spot, no one was decoying and no one was trying to create space. We spoiled each other and on the occasion we blocked it was way too obvious (how can so many other clubs do it and get away with it?). I can’t see a KPF changing things. We need to go back to basics and get a new forward coach.
  22. Who cares about Maynard. Angus going down wasn’t our issue. The fact that we had 32 more inside 50s is the issue. I’d be focusing on that next week. How on earth are we going to overcome a compete lack of forward strategy?
  23. This one will take a while to digest. I’m incredibly disappointed by our forward structure in the first half. Things looked better later, but you can’t give them such a head start. This is comes down to coaching and is bordering on hubris.
  24. Interesting to see Noble has been dropped by Collingwood in favour of a slightly taller Markov. Must be worried about the match up against TMac, but interesting to see if this destabilises them a bit noting Noble has played all 23 games this year. Dees by 14
