The 2006 elimination final is one of my favourite comebacks. St Kilda got out to a 27 point lead in the second quarter after Fraser Gherig kicked 3 goals in 4 minutes and then this happened... All pumped up on adrenaline he thought he could run around NC and rolled his ankle, from then we fought back to be 9 points down at 3/4 time then kicked the last 5 goals of the game. There was a St Kilda family of 5 sitting a couple rows in front of us at the MCG. Every time St Kilda kicked a goal they cheered "Goals, Goals, Goals, WHOOOO" with hand actions and everything. When we hit the front I couldn't help myself and yelled goals goals goals whoo as we kicked on to win the game. I'll never forget the absolute joy I had at the final siren. Did not know or think that it would be the last final I would attend until 2018

Rating 2021 team Against 1998, 2000 & 2018
FritschyBusiness replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
This 2021 team would smash any previous Melbourne side ever just based on fitness level and defensive structure. Every previous Melbourne side would be gassed by half time, especially from pre 1980's -

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs

I am just so happy -
Big time. Just having the footy to chat with your mates about was really good It's good that they endeavour to present entertainment as I believe running games with no crowds does not put anyone at risk.

100%, footy helped me get through the lockdown last year for all the reason you listed.

its been 3 games this year -
Very correct P2K we have had poor conversion all year. 11.14 Vs Freo, 12.19 Vs St Kilda. It finally cost us a game

Whilst we all know the two non decisions late game were rubbish Kicking 6.7 to 7.2 after half time didn't help, we had enough chances to get further ahead. I have faith the club is gonna come out and give it to the bulldogs next week with Viney and Salem back in the side

ankle was in a moon boot at the end of the game, will probably miss 3-4 weeks -
The revenge is they wont play finals and their 1 point win was tainted by those non decisions

Yeah the ump that didnt pay the deliberate was born and lives in Adelaide... so you know -
EDIT: Sorry quoted the wrong quote ^ General soreness, Goody covered it post match and apparently he has been a bit sore for a few weeks but wouldn't say where or what it was.

When it gets to the end of the season one of these teams will be playing finals and the other wont be. Learnings to be learnt before taking on the Dogs and the Lions. Go Dees!

Next Generation Academy 2021
FritschyBusiness replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure, I think they have stuffed the draft a bit with this academy and bidding stuff. Theres no way Footscray should have got Ugle Hagan last year as moving up to pick one the way the did with the lack of picks they had is absolute robbery. Having picks pushed back ruins the integrity of the draft and the value of the picks pre draft moving forward F/S I support -

I think its top 20 picks -
If they just removed "making an attempt" so you had to dispose of the ball properly every-time it would solve the problem. You can have the ball knocked out of the tackle then play on and if its pinned to you in the tackle with no prior its a ball up and should be called quickly by the umpire. You can't have the ball leave your person incorrectly in any other situation in the game, so having that rule that you can dispose incorrectly if you don't have prior, I think its utter crap.
