Jess Gawn to deliver during finals?
FritschyBusiness replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Father/son rule has become father/son/daughter rule and the kids of former players can get picked up by the club for either AFL or AFLW team. -
Three years makes a difference
FritschyBusiness replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
98% of the improvement has been between the ears of the players and their change of attitude. The other 2% is Mark Williams -
I'm waiting for the premiership merch.. only 5 weeks away.

The 2021 All-Australian Team
FritschyBusiness replied to Pickett2Jackson's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd say Fritsh would be ahead of Kozzie and ANB for the pocket spot with how many goals he kicked this year. Toby Greene has the other pocket spot sewn up for sure -

Wow, I am so overwhelmed with happiness from that incredible win. Gawn after the siren is poetic, I really love football and the Dees.

Me too, it upset the chemistry in the side. Its like having Frost back

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
FritschyBusiness replied to binman's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think they struggled to beat the Top 4 teams because of those players (Rozee, Butters and Grey) being out Watch them win by 5-6 goals tonight, easy -

Thanks for the article. I know there was always a knock on his one on one defending which I didn't think he was that bad at this year, this article points out he has only lost 29% of one on ones this year. -
I find it interesting that Goodwin preaches continuity and uses the least amount of players all year. Yet now picks Smith over Hibberd after only one game where he came in for someone saw who is now back in the side. Joel was decent on the weekend, but Adelaide are not Geelong. Auditions in round 22 and 23 seem very un-goodwin like and thats what has me worried. I'd rather see Joel Smith in the side round 1 2022.

I thought this year had cured my MFCSS, I really did. I haven't had symptoms since we kept delivering wins. Now over the last two weeks my symptoms have come back and I've found the source its - In: Joel Smith

Thanks for your response. Completely understandable with younger players/lack of pre seasons and fatigue, I think there could possibly be some mental fatigue for younger players too. I agree and feel like we have run games out well. I don't take much from the WC game post Lightning stoppage, it was a big benefit to WC as they were cooked by that time.

It wasn't like for like when Tmac came out against WC for Jordon so we can go smaller on a wet deck. Going back to our usual 2021 line up it seems. Not related to the above quote and response, I have noticed a lot of posters saying players need/should get a rest cos the look tired. The players get 6-7 days break from games, It's plenty of time to recover unless knocked around a bit, a big corky etc. Players wont be rested for being "tired", players get rested if they are sore and have not been able to train at 100%. ie: Salem, Tmac and May from this year. Having a week off for "rest" when we might possible get a week off first week of finals is counterintuitive to progress of this side.

I think what transfers well is the philosophy behind playing. In basketball you are a bit less "see ball get ball" and are thinking about the play to create an open shot ie: putting on the block and creating space for the team mate to gather the ball. I think its something Dogga does particularly well when in the middle

They say in the report Majak hit Cox with an elbow but in the video I can only see the arms come across his neck. So it looks like a forearm to the throat. Is there another incident other than this one? For Majak to do something like that (I'm not excusing his actions) maybe Cox has said something to Majak during the game, he is a trash talker on field.

Not every player is gonna get 20-30 touches, Its about impact. When he has the ball either him or the person he kicks it too impacts the scoreboard.

Out: Smith, Jordon, Sparrow In: May, McDonald, Viney I think Melksham has the X factor and the foot skills we have been missing. Very happy with him in the side the last two weeks. Unfortunately I see Jordon and Sparrow coming out to make way for more experienced players
