  1. Harmes is more of a player than AVB is at the moment. I’d rather him on a wing or in the guts. Silly call from Simon. Wagner will play forward. Max improves us. Jones and AVB in the same side doesn’t please me. Rivers is a ripper and I prefer his ball use and composure over Lockhart’s
  2. That is a joke that Langdon has his fine upheld. Absolutely farcical. It won’t warrant any media coverage. I am growing to hate the AFL more and more each day.
  3. So did it get overturned? Haven’t seen a thing on it
  4. I can’t stomach the fact that Langdon was even fined for his action. He was paid a free kick for holding the ball, the momentum of the Bulldogs player trying to break the tackle and handball drove him forward. I know the club won’t challenge it, because they would rather cop the fine and not risk suspension, but it should be challenged on principle. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that tackle, unless they won’t to admit the field umpire made a mistake in awarding a free kick for holding the ball and have egg all over their face. I am so sick of this rubbish. The Dalhaus one is far far worse and has far greater risk attached to it and it only graded slightly more serious. What a joke
  5. Having read the report from the MFC website, the changes you suggest here are all very likely. It does not sound like Bedford did much today, but has some form, so maybe he replaces Pickett. The reports were highly complimentary of Wagner, so would not be surprised to see him in, although I never think he adds much at senior level and has consistently underperformed.
  6. This is one of the best posts I’ve ever read on Demonland. You completely hit the nail on the head. I really feel as though he should be used forward more often and kept out of the midfield, only given bursts in the middle.
  7. Surely it’s time to give Bennell another shot at it. Gawn in, as Preuss showed a lack of footy smarts and that Max is light years ahead of him. I’d like to see Salem moved up the ground. He was fairly ordinary today. Hibberd is not the answer off half back either. He butchers every kick. I’d look at Rivers back in for either Hibbo or Lockhart. Jones for Sparrow the obvious one.
  8. Tim English rolls an ankle and leaves the ground limping in the last minute. Nice way for this match to finish
  9. I think he just overcompensates when calling our games, to the point where Melbourne fans view him as ultra negative. I think he tries to avoid bias so hard that he actually comes across as if he is barracking for the opposition. It’s very frustrating and like Eddie did a few years ago, he should not call Melbourne games.
  10. Happy to have the big Preussian in. Just hope he plays his role, gives Grundy a hard time and then hope the other selections/inclusions allow us to retain the structure up forward.
  11. Do you know how many minutes the quarters were, by any chance? They said he dominated around the ground, but that would be meaningless if they were 10 minute quarters or something.
  12. I’d be tempted to bring in Preuss, but reckon that leaves us one short up forward, as TMAC simply doesn’t suit the role anymore and if it is going to be wet, he is horrendous when ball is on the ground. We are gonna have to rely on midfield goals and smalls this week I feel. I’ll back Preuss, but reckon Brown should be in the mix too. He apparently kicked 5 in the meaningless practice match of 12 a side
  13. Being a traditional Saturday fixture, will teams be announced today? Or has that all gone out the window this season? I find it hard to keep up.
  14. Tom Bowne, yes I know he is unreliable, tweeted that Gawn May miss 4-6 weeks.
  15. Does anyone have information on Collingwood’s arrangements for this weekend’s match? Are they staying on the GC? Flying in the day of the game? The 2 hour bus trip we are taking is not ideal preparation.
  16. Anyone notice Warpole shove in Fyfe in the back while he was on the ground? Exactly like Vanders did, but worse, given Fyfe was grabbing at his shoulder. Not a word from Derm, who quickly changed the topic. He was so so strong on it when Vanders did it...not a word about his beloved Hawk! Disgrace
  17. How does his stats compare to AVB. I don’t see him do enough either and often his possessions are very messy and result in turnovers.
  18. I see many calling for Jones to be dropped next week. I am interested to know what it is people aren’t liking about him at the moment. I understand that he doesn’t get a lot of the ball these days, but I thought that, at times, he composed himself when the other mids turned too helter skelter and set up some nice link play. I am unsure why so many are critical of him. He seems to play his role.
  19. I had never been a fan of Spargo, until this evening. I think he can stay in the side. He was much better than his rd1 form. Good on him.
  20. I personally hope Spargo stays the hell away from the ball. If I see him lead and call for the ball and our players kick long to him down the line, I will be physically ill. He cannot mark overhead, but continues to present as a leading option. He is not particularly fast, so I don’t exactly know what role he should play, but a marking target he is not!
  21. I remember that Bartel incident. It was also a disgraceful decision by the Tribunal. It was obvious he was flopping for a free kick and knocked himself out. I think this incident is the reason why he has a hatred for our club also. If you listen to him commentate our games, he is nothing short of disrespectful. There was another Geelong player, Will Slade, who faked being hit by Yze and threw his head back and knocked himself out. Yze was initially not cited, yet the AFL launched an investigation and sent him to the tribunal. Thankfully, on that occasion, the vision showed he hadn’t made contact and Slade had flopped to draw a free kick and knocked his head on the ground. https://www.smh.com.au/national/yze-clears-his-name-at-tribunal-20030423-gdgnh9.html Then was the Trengove tackle on Dangerfield of Adelaide, where he was paid holding the ball and later suspended for 2 weeks. We really seem to get a rough go at the tribunal and our status as a ‘small club’ allows us to continually be pushed around. I feel bad for the Adelaide player, but there is no way 4 weeks is an appropriate sentence for Neale Bullen. He would feel gutted.
  22. Which is satisfying to know, but where the hell was the free kick from the umpire on the night? It was plain as day to see. I find this most frustrating, when a player is reported, but a free kick is not awarded on the night. Walker is a grub, who can no longer influence games, so tries to flex his muscle off the ball. Weak in my view.
