Issue is that Brissy don’t look that good either.

It’s shocking .. we had a few last week as well.
-
Gawn looks heartbroken - hope it’s Not ACL
-
Look disinterested. Need a rocket up em
-
Such a shame. He is shaping up to be one of those players that can never get their bodies right and hence reach their full potential.
-
You can just see it happening ... right when we are about to get our fair return (Yze, Brown, White etc) ... lets just hope Geelong have something in the pipes at around the same time to ensure it remains.

Agreed. It’s easy to defend the corridor and push them wide ONLY if you pressure them coming out of HB. if you let them out easy they’ll kick over the zone and then it’s 1:1 defence. Got to run with N Daicos and push Josh to the boundary.

Im going a bit early but … A new sports bet multi on why Geelong will lose tonight according to Scott. 1. Surface has recovered too well after we trained all week at the skating rink 2. J Cameron’s newborn kept him up all night and couldn’t train fully 3. without Duckwood we were unable to get our usual 2-3 goals from questionable high contact frees in our f50

it’s early in the season but the signs are ominous

Geelong look ship house

How many warnings for Hawkins to clear the area.. we’d have copped 3x50m penalties

Well it certainly doesn’t equate to the ok ‘all duck no dinner’ we dishes up last year. I think it’s going to be a huge game on Friday and it will be a spirited encounter. We have a point to prove given last years loss and they have to rebound in front of their own sell out crowd. They have more pressure on them to perform and I get the feeling they crumble a bit when the heat is on. It’s with going to be less than a goal either way or 60+ point win for us.

Then I’d educate myself on the matter before jumping on here and critiquing others on their views as it is no laughing matter.

Absolutely he does. Don’t get fooled by all the hype and inuendo in the media. He is protected by all. Buddy’s hit was not a football action and was direct to the opponents head. The check that both Kozzy and McAdams performed were only problematic as the opponent was not in the right state to protect themselves and hence secondary impact to the head was inevitable . Now I don’t support these acts by any stretch and I think they should be outlawed as the have, but Buddys cheap hit was vile, unprofessional and had actual intent to impact the head - which has been overlooked by all.

Completely healthy, what’s our best 22 ?
Gawndy the Great replied to Floody100's topic in Melbourne Demons
ill have a crack - assuming all are healthy and are in-form. B: May Lever Bowey HB: Brayshaw Petty Salem C: Hunter Viney Langdon HF: Trac TMac ANB F: Spargo BBB Fritta Foll: Gawn Oliver Kozzy Bench: Harmes, Grundy, Sparrow, Rivers Sub: McVee Emg: Tommo, Hibberd, JVR Sorry to: JJ, Chin, Milkshake, Laurie -
McVee on Cameron is a gamble. Is he ready to take on a seriously creative and fast SF? I don’t know him well enough but perhaps we think about bringing Hibberd into the mix. It doesn’t feel right to drop McVee it doesn’t feel like the right matchup - he is better suited to Zac Bailey. Perhaps Bowey takes Cameron. Laurie has to come out, just don’t think he has the goods. Out: Kozzy, Laurie, Tommo In: Fritta, Viney, May.

I’ve watched the hits again and I’m going to change my view a bit. Buddy was the only one that had a clean hit on the head. Both Kozzie and McAdams had incidental , secondary head contact and thus I’d say that contact for Buddy was intentional whilst mcadams and Kozzy was careless. I won’t debate the Impact grade as it’s a dogs breakfast trying to work that out, but ultimately Lance should have received the biggest penalty out of all 3.

Which midfield combination do you prefer?
Gawndy the Great replied to Orion's topic in Melbourne Demons
That is all out attack setup not much defensive presence there. -
And the culture of the club probably held him back a year or two of development.
-
What are you alluding to WCW? Do yo you know if he is close ?
-
Based on what evidence? he has been in the system for 3 years (4 preseasons) and really has not strung together 2-3 great quarters let alone games. And please spare me the GF 15 minutes in the 3Q - yes he done his job well, but there were at least half a dozen others that also deserve the plaudits for changing the game on that great night of football. Talls take longer- i get that- but they tend to show some solid form in a number of games as they develop more consistency in their game. LJ right now, is nowhere near what people are expecting of him, maybe that'll change and he'll come of age, but the longer this goes on, the less im inclined to believe much will come of him.

I think that was more a reflection of game style and being more direct and quicker in transition to prior years where we relied a lot more on contested marks. We monstered them in i50 marks 17:7 by better kicking inside 50, which is a great sign against a strong(ish) opposition.
