GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs

McVee showing some incredible poise on the wing there. You only want to see 1-2 elite things a game in first year players to know you have something. -

Better patch of play from the boys. Went to sleep there for 10 mins. Got to maintain that rage. Liam Jones going out will cause a shift in their forward line so now we should exploit the inexperience of Darcy in the forward line. -

Little worried around the contest so far, but it’s looking more like a Melbourne game than a Doggies one. -

Until it’s a Doggies player then there is a special clause in the rules of the game. -

Umpires as usual having a stinker already. -
Surely Dunkley has got a concussion? That looked nasty.

It’ll double in the next 20 as people sit in bars and are either in the line trying to get in. -

If we lose tonight, then One of the two premiership favourites will be 0-2 by the end of the next week. To make matters worse both Bris and Melb face other top 4 prospects in round 3 in the Dogs and Swans respectively. -

Tommos opponent will likely kick a few goals whether he plays a blinder or not - our system should minimise the discrepancy between May and Tommo defensively. It’s the rebound that I’m not sure about, we don’t really have a playmaker now that both May and Salem are gone. Bowey’s a good kick but lacks the experience required to pull it off as consistently as May and Salo do on the rebound. My gut tells me Brayshaws game will have a large bearing on whether we win or lose tonight. Dees by 1 point. -
But can do it all season long? The hunger will sure drive them.

The accuracy of Cats is making this closer than it is. Pies are smashing them in almost every facet of the game.
-
McStay, McStayin on the ground shirking the contest.
-
looks like a full break to Howe’s forearm. God knows what else though.
-
I feel filthy supporting the filth. But tonight I hate Geelong more.
-
Agree with BT I don’t think the carnage is surface. Both teams going out really hard for the dub - probably too hard for this time of year.
-
If the Cats can do it without De Koning and Stewart ….
-
That’s just a technicality.
-
Pies letting Grundy go for McStay was a massive mistake.
-
This looks more like it. Can’t see the Cats maintaining this though - two old.

Turner is still unproven at AFL level so the jury is out. He has the traits but only time will tell whether he can live up to that potential. Petty's natural talent is an intercept defender. I think he is above average 1:1 and will undoubtedly get better. I have questions on whether Petty can help setup the play though. Hard to tell as he's been in May's shadow, but hopefully you are right. With our strong draft hand this year, if we can push into the Top 10, means we will get a crack at a decent KP player. I think we have reasonable stock in Jefferson and JVR up forward and we have an abundance of midfielders, so it only makes sense to look at a KPB - we can always swing Petty forward if it works out. The only priority that would supersede this if you have x-factor player available at our pick, but its the wrong thread and wrong time of year to break out into a more in-depth discussion on this topic :)
