  1. It’ll double in the next 20 as people sit in bars and are either in the line trying to get in.
  2. If we lose tonight, then One of the two premiership favourites will be 0-2 by the end of the next week. To make matters worse both Bris and Melb face other top 4 prospects in round 3 in the Dogs and Swans respectively.
  3. Tommos opponent will likely kick a few goals whether he plays a blinder or not - our system should minimise the discrepancy between May and Tommo defensively. It’s the rebound that I’m not sure about, we don’t really have a playmaker now that both May and Salem are gone. Bowey’s a good kick but lacks the experience required to pull it off as consistently as May and Salo do on the rebound. My gut tells me Brayshaws game will have a large bearing on whether we win or lose tonight. Dees by 1 point.
  4. But can do it all season long? The hunger will sure drive them.
  5. The accuracy of Cats is making this closer than it is. Pies are smashing them in almost every facet of the game.
  6. McStay, McStayin on the ground shirking the contest.
  7. looks like a full break to Howe’s forearm. God knows what else though.
  8. I feel filthy supporting the filth. But tonight I hate Geelong more.
  9. Agree with BT I don’t think the carnage is surface. Both teams going out really hard for the dub - probably too hard for this time of year.
  10. If the Cats can do it without De Koning and Stewart ….
  11. That’s just a technicality.
  12. Pies letting Grundy go for McStay was a massive mistake.
  13. This looks more like it. Can’t see the Cats maintaining this though - two old.

Turner is still unproven at AFL level so the jury is out. He has the traits but only time will tell whether he can live up to that potential. Petty's natural talent is an intercept defender. I think he is above average 1:1 and will undoubtedly get better. I have questions on whether Petty can help setup the play though. Hard to tell as he's been in May's shadow, but hopefully you are right. With our strong draft hand this year, if we can push into the Top 10, means we will get a crack at a decent KP player. I think we have reasonable stock in Jefferson and JVR up forward and we have an abundance of midfielders, so it only makes sense to look at a KPB - we can always swing Petty forward if it works out. The only priority that would supersede this if you have x-factor player available at our pick, but its the wrong thread and wrong time of year to break out into a more in-depth discussion on this topic :)
  15. interested to why the calf strain is associated with the elder statesman of the game. Anyone have a clue?

Looking back at OMac and Frost as our key pillars now makes me shudder. I think we have to really invest in another KPB as May is on the wrong side of 30. He's going to be really difficult to replace as he was more than just a defender as we all know. There are only a few in the comp that could be considered similar - that is they play exceptionally well in the zone, 1:1 and can often initiate the rebound. It is what makes him so valuable. Tom Stewart really is the only other one that comes to mind that is a current player, Moore maybe as well. its a consideration for this year's draft for sure.
  17. But it doesn’t sound like a 1-2 weeker either. My guess will be 3-4.
  18. So the Blues, with 3 talls, struggled all night to keep the ball in their F50. Gives us a taste of Sat night. As long as the Doggies talls arnt clunking it, they’ll struggle to keep it in their forward half.
  19. I’ve said it many times before I’m the LJ and this thread. There needs to be compensation for walking them to the PSD. Until then it’s an incomplete system.
  20. Robbo reckons Shai top 5 in comp! He is good but top5 ? Please!
  21. The fox coverage saying May has hammy but I’ve read Richo’s comments on selection sighting calf. Hopefully it’s not both and that it’s only a 1 weeker. Will need him more next week at the Gabba.
  22. None of these teams are top 8 material from what I’ve seen let alone top 4 as some have predicted. Time for this game as season kick off to end. I love the GF rematch as the season opener.
  23. So Tommo in… ok then. What are the matchups given Doggies are playing 4 talls? You could have lined Turner up on Darcy, kids played like 2 games. Petty takes JUH Tommo Naughton Lever to Darcy Gawndy on Lobb We really need to dominate midfield and not allow clean clearances to the Doggies otherwise it will be a goal fest. Also read May has a hammy not a calf. did anyone else see that?
  24. The team seem to really adore him as well. I think he has the potential to become something special, just needs an opportunity.
  25. The media sure loves to pull us down and talk us up at the same time. It is to be expected when we are at the top. So i choose to take it as a sign of we are doing something right.
