PREGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Don't think so BBP.....good attacking & gutsy backman when up & running, however, like many, been disappointing & managing injuries this year....I don't think he has the endurnace to be an accountable mid either, but only my opinion.

PREGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
The only thing I can think of is that Marty Hore must have a bonus payment or trigger in his contract at 15 games this season...... (ATM hes played 12)

Jack Martin
J Martin's season averages: 18 disposals @ 61% efficiency, 4 turnovers & .5 goals per game, 3.8 score involvements B Hill's season averages: 25 disposals @ 68% efficiency, 5 turnovers & .3 goals per game, 6.1 score involvements

The Future of Jordan Lewis
He has been an ornament to the game but it just doesn't make any sense to keep him on the list. (as a coach maybe) Why clog the list & restrict the promotion & development of our youngsters.......

Aaron vandenBerg
one again, ANB signed for 2 years

Stats-file 2019
Its hard to pull the trigger when Billy hasn't had any consecutive games (until this year) in the seniors since round 1 to 5 I think 2017. (I stand to be corrected though) How can you build confidence if that's the case. It's clear that the current coaching staff have zero confidence in him & IMO underrate what he brings....never shirks an issue, tackles hard, runs harder than most & never looks for an easy kick (something our current captains can learn from) Plenty of non-impact players at the Dee's at the moment RN & I'd be happy to make a list for you? At least with Stretch, & others like JKH & C Wagner etc, the effort is there & if you observe his numbers both at senior level & at Casey, I think you will find they are better than most. Maybe you'd prefer a senior player who just won't tackle, has an average or 7 turnovers a game & runs around the back of players to get an easy kick? My nephew, who goes to the club training sessions regularly says Stretch is universally loved by all players because of his accountability, work rate & team first habits. The fact that the coaches want 22 bulls playing every week, is unfortunate for Stretch & he'd be better off finding a more welcoming environment & a club that might give him a go. If the club is going to get 'anywhere near silverware', as you say, they've got far bigger pending issues than whether to p[lay BS or not. Maybe sorting our whether or not the current 22 actually have any care for one another, whether the coaches have an alternative game plan & for the likes of Viney, Jones, Lewis, & co to show any form of leadership. I must say it was nice for JKH to get a run & perform well last night v Richmond. His speed, run & carry was exciting & something that has been clearly lacking the last 6-8 weeks. 20 disposals @ 80% efficiency is evidence that he should be out there.....

Brad Hill
Why would Brad Hill want to come to the Dees......Just looked at his stats & averages 5.2 turnovers a game, 5 contested possessions & 2 tackles per game...... Goody & Macca won't like that!
-
Sam Frost - Contract status
Hang on to Frosty for sure.....provides flexibility & run which is clearly lacking on our list st the moment.

Martin Flanagan Talks Dees on SEN (30/7)
I'm just comparing JV & Jones with some of the other AFL captains like Selwood, Pendlebury, Heppell, Fyfe, Davis, Kennedy & Hurn.......Not in the same league unfortunately, unless I'm missing something? Jack is a contested beast but unfortunately, contested footy isn't Melbourne's problem & the sooner we stop being selfish & play a team orientated style of game, the better the the club & the culture will be. Max for me. (daylight second)

Alex Keath
Won't be ANB as he has signed for 2 years.......

You could also include: A player that demonstrates a team first attitude & behaviours.

Ranked 16th for Best U23 Talent
Just looked up the 2 SA boys birthdays & ANB turned 23 in Jan this year & Stretch still 22. FFS get it right guys......

Ranked 16th for Best U23 Talent
ANB I think is still 22 & Stretch is definately only 22. So 16 players in totlal.....

Roosy: "Deplorable" Dees have "no recognisable brand"
Roos escalated our wins, developed a sustainable game plan that held up against quality opposition & finally the MFC supporters could go to the footy with some confidence that the players would be competitive. Success at football clubs is about wins, loses & premierships & whether you agree or not, we were heading in the right direction with a recognised 'brand' or the right 'balance' that won enough games to elevate the club. Unfortunately, the current regime has squandered all of Roosey's great work with no game plan, no balance & thoughts only for their own personal development & success. One step forward & 2 steps back.....

Jordan Lewis is NOT cooked, give him 1 more season.
Yeah not sure I agree...... The fact that players like JKH, Baker, Chandler, Jordon, C Maynard, T Bedford & C Wagner (up & til last week) are overlooked & Lewis is preffered sends a clear message, that either the coaches don't rate our youngsters or they have a very high opinion of themselves & Lewis....... Either way, we are in trouble if that's the case. A coaches role at best would be the appropriate move in my opinion.

Jack Viney's Kicking
Viney has been doing this for a long time now & unfortunately everyone, including the opposition, knows exactly what hes going to do when he gains possession. We have been very predictable this year......Maybe a quick handball & a block would be better & more team orientated. The coaches strategically removed O Mac from games for a few weeks to address his fitness & confidence, so why cant they address Viney's kicking & others for that matter? Me thinks that Goodwin isn't concerned & is prepared to back Viney's effectiveness over his turnovers. He's backed a lot of his boys this year but unfortunately its ended in tears.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Out: Hannan, Brayshaw, Lewis & Jetta In: JKH, C Wagner, Baker & Jordan Hannan horribly out of form & needs time in the 2's, Jetta back way to soon. Lewis can offer more in a coaching/mentoring role & is standing in the way of development & Gus needs some discipline. The in's are deserving of a chance & offer obvious speed, agility & more importantly game time.

Angus Brayshaw to Fremantle Rumours
I love Angus, but he's been pushed out to the wing because he's not accountable as an inside mid......consequently not happy & a reason for his lack of enthusiasm. Also your comment about 'old mids' getting priority......that is so true & is where some of our issues start. JKH & C Wagner have more than deserved their recall & will provide more enthusiasm & pace. Coaching dept. have no balls.

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs
I don't normally play either but why not.....my players Jones: 7 costly turnovers Brayshaw: Time for Casey Jetta: Was never going to be ready (haven't the FD learnt yet?) Fritsch: 50% Efficiency.....ouch! Lewis: Stopping development progress Hannan: Dear oh dear Preuss: not fit enough
-
Bryce Gibbs
I have always liked Gibbs especially when he was at the Blues & cant see why he still can't have an impact at another AFL club. Its obvious that Pike doesn't rate him & I know there has been some other issues that have been mentioned that may be effecting his performance, however, he should get the hell out of there. With Goodies choccy box already full, I don't see a spot for him at the Dees, although he could always slot him in at HF, HB or the wing......like Lewis & Jones
-
Where the Fritsch?
2019 Average: 17.6 disposals, 4.1 turnovers, 1.9 tackles @ 74% efficiency (4 goals) 2018 Average: 16.3 disposals, 2.7 disposals, 2.6 tackles @ 77% efficiency (17 goals)

On SEN Today the following question was raised
Jimmy changed the landscape for ruckmen in the late 80's early 90's & was essentially a ruck rover & having Stawbs in tandem gave Jimmy relief in the forward line. It did work well for a while & with the km's needed to survive in today's game, I cant see why the Max/Preuss combo couldn't work. Worth a try I reckon.......nothing to loose now!
