Totally agree and we need to move Stafford out or to another area but it's not working and our players are terrible shots for goal set up by very average footy. it must be deflating to the players who once the opportunity to kill the game by scoring something comes over they panic fumble or make bad decisions. Has been going on too long now amd it must be addressed and Goody cannnot just brush it aside. Next week we will be under pressure as it now looms as a must game if we are any chance of Top 2 or even 4. Shocking selection effort and feel very sorry for Tommo who played his best game ever for the Club. Jordon Spargo and Chin are all not playing well and ANB must be dropped to get more out of him. Petty was rushed back despite Goody saying things at times which don't happen. From one of our best efforts which was like a 5/6 goal thrashing of Pies we flounder again scoring poorly when playing well. We have to put goals on the board when on top and not give sides the opportunity to get back into it. That's really 4 bad last quarters in the last 5 games. Port we lead at 3:4 timeFreo was average, against Blues only 1 goal Pies they out scored us as we wasted the shots and this effort we folded again from in front. ' Can't rely on good 4th quarters any more. Looking a bit like last year. There are opportunities but they are wasted with poor football. Whst coach can come up with an answer ?

WhT about Bowser those conditions would probably have suited him.

Yes a big one Kossie please.
  4. Huge commiserations to Bernie's family on his passing and solace to all who were lucky enough to play with Bernie or see him play or barrack for him in his 99 games. He was a very good player and as noted he played a vital role in our Dee' s 1964 team's triumphant 12th flag victory. Vale Bernie Massey No 37.
  5. We could do a lot better in fact a bloo.. lot better of getting Harry completely fit before we risk him in any grade albeit in a VFL game that he need not be playing when not fully fit. Whatever your thoughts you are not serious please, and thinking of Harry's future in any way shape or form.
  6. Sorry my half glass full not empty!!
  7. I was simply providing a different opinion on your post reflecting on close finishes and predicting a 5 -10 finish as what we are worth. Completely different view with a half glass empty and yours not even half full. Cheers for now!
  8. What a mundane summary of our season do far. Suns were never in front and we had 5 more scoring shots. Plus the JVR fiasco stopped a good run at the start of the quarter which helped Suns get back in the game. In the Freo game yes they played better footy but we kicked the game away in front of goal. Also I suppose you thought we were lucky on Monday? Well Pies and Power have been best to date but are they going to be able to maintain the rage? Monday proved ( like in 2021) our footy often improves vs the top sides and now that May Lever Salo Fritta and Gawny have hit consistent form like in 2021 we are a much better defensive group and tighter as a unit all over the ground. We are categorically better than a 5 - 10 position and are up to our eyeballs in this flag race.
  9. It is potentially a younger list when about 3:4 at Casey perform consistently to put real pressure on the AFL "role players" and occasional players who go missing st times but just hang on in there. Butcwe are about 5th or 6 th oldest due to Hibbo Tmac aNd Browny.
  10. No we all love Kossie BUT he is not in good form. First game vs Dogs that's what he can do and simply he is a little undisciplined and not in the right crumbing spots too many times. Needs a small wake up call.

Might be Charlie as he was subbed before 3/4 time. Let Smithyvstst he was handier than I thought. It's an X factor if he can do better than a small forward with goals and tackles and Kossie fills in the gaps as the small it's a win win. Also gives us a roaming presence in a good marking type who can go back if necessary. But he must produce or perish.

Better get used to cheering him as he ain't going anywhere soon. Only spot may be a swap of wings with Lingers or you swapping your preference if which side if the ground you sit. Was an amazing game as I hardly noticed Lachy much except for the obvious and also Trac get 28 disposals. Problem IMO he butchered about a third especially on the forward line. He really must just realise that most times he has another split second to steady and deliberately kick for goal rather than bang it on to his boot ASAP and waste the pill.

Same with Sicily on McCluggage. Give em an extra week for being a smart a..e Duty of care is not just an empty phase.
  14. 58er replied to TRIGON's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I would suspend Sicily for ONE match (or a severe fine) in any case for placing his hands on and for unnecessarily applying pressure at the end of the incident to McCluggages back on the ground as he finished face down on the grass. It was completely unwanted and although it had no part in the concussion it had the ability to worsen any injury which no one at that time knew Was. It's a dangerous habit and Sicily needs some boundaries to hone in on his aggression.
  15. I posted last week I felt the real improvement in May Lever Salo Fritta and Gawny ( last quarter ) which did not fully show up in our final score vs the Blues. I also said that this was most important that it continue a la 2021 form for the rest of the season. Mondays performance did nothing but prove that when we have 3 stars in defence plus Juddy Tommo and Riv and Hibbo all contributing scores like 6.8 and 9.8 are true reflections of our defence at its best. Let us reflect and play 3 talls especially now that the tightest defence has returned for a possible 2023 assault from the rear again. It just gives Maysie and Jake the ability to play their roles they are best suited to and to that is intercepting and controlling the game going forward, giving our forwards the best chances to kick a winning total, and they will at some point get it together. Kossie Petty and Smithy in form might just prove the added depth to charge at the flag with a full throttle.

Daniels is not too small. That's a furphy if good enough then give him a go. size is a poor excuse by a team when as the individual most likely desires a chance to prove a reason like that wrong.
  17. Agree someone needs to have a frank and personal chat to Kossie on what ability he has and how he is going about it using that ability. In round terms he has one more chance and faces dropping after the Cats game if he can't get more disposals and affect the game with goals tackles and run and carry plus some crumbing in front and square and also behind the pack. And NO MORE flying for impossible marks ( unrealistic in fact) until he regains his form and composure. That we got a win and really humbled the Pies ( who were poor and off their game) much due to our 2021 style defence. And in fact that really Kossie and Trac were with JVR our poorest players ( no not trying they did try) with all others contributing all the attributes we ask if our players to be a flag contender. I was so proud of them today as they really put Freo and Port behind them and given some normal front of goal conversion would have embarrassed them no end. And we supported their efforts against a very lack lustre Pies fan base who seemed almost bored and assumed the Pies would wipe out their deficit any moment they chose. But it didn't happen and no way did they deserve to be any where near us than over 5/6 goals. We take the four points and agsin must display the same great character at the Cattery in 10 days time, along with some accuracy traits. We are back to our eyeballs with defence and mids gaining confidence with Clarry to put some icing Into this very fruity cake as long as we get some forward connectivity and confidence. Now Maysie Rick Salo Fritta and Gawny are back in form Trac had a mulligan and Kossie needs to find his best. Petty due back soon and Smithy if not suspended showed some ability that he may develop also to contribute a valuable role to that forward mix. Time to keep the momentum going and use our 2021 as the bench mark to improve and kick scurry to ensure no costly lapses. I really believe we can get a double chance and gain a home finals run if we take this next step. No doubt today was the best game all season with most systems firing and in the biggest challenge of the year from the best team and exposure to pressure from the crowd and the Pies ability to invest in and outrun us being chopped off beautifully nearly all day.

Absolute rubbish. He has form and you come up with a ridiculous excuse like that. That's also rude about Fritta's skills or any AFL player being unable to do that effectively. Its strange when on the defensive all the reasons for Frittas selfishness are a joke. Don't get me wrong I think it was his best game for the year. He seemed freer in his movement and more importantly was jumping off the ground. Has he kicked straight he would have got4 or 5 goals. Look for a big game on Monday. Hope he is over that foot issue that seems to have derailed his foot up to now. I reallly think Bailey is vastly underrated in the AFL and by some Dees fans as well. An A grader in IMO.
  19. I thought Fritta Maysie Rick Salo all looked back to their best (2021 form) vs Blues and Gawny had a ripping last quarter clunking some marks and his goal to keep out the hapless Blues!! If they can plsy like that and Rooy and Judd maintain a consistent support like Friday we know Clarry will be in the first 3 on ground ( if he doesn't eat the footy first) so thsts a good start. Teckon Fritta jumped off the ground about 5/6 times but didn't convert as usual. He could be back to his GF exploits agsin! That means we are in it up to our eyeballs. Plus the rest of season with real confidence.

DD ring the Club and you may be able to upgrade still if there are any tickets for seats left. You may be in the gods at Level4 in the Warne Stand but still able to see a great game.
  21. Not so deluded now hey SA? Good to see for Rooy. Deserved it. Now Juddy to get one soon.
