  1. He has got to go really this is insane !!
  2. Oh and further this action was "behind play" refer free kick.
  3. Jibroni do you want Bruz in or out? 2 things once your feet leave the ground it is a charge or virtually an illegal tackle. At the Tribunal there are no such clauses which can include "unfortunate" or "unlucky". If you jump into and mame injure or concuss no matter the fortune you are putting yourself in an untenable situation and should pay for the consequences of your actions. ie don't get yourself in that situation.or position. 3/4 weeks. Is fair given the damage and fact that we lost a player for the whole game.
  4. You are saying we need forwards yet want the best looking one for ages Harry Petty to " ideally play on the backline." So much for your Concern about our greatest weakness our forward line. Glad you are not deciding our recruiting based on that judgement. Harry looked every Inch a 75/80 goal forward let's leave him there please. Next Friday night I would try Turner on the forward line as he can mark hopefully kick as well. Change Smith to backline perhaps. I do agree that we go after a ready made forward as well in the trade period. Perhaps Membrey or Fullarton or Koschitzke. Or Lord for a future Ist or 2nd rounder as part of a Brodie deal if he goes to Port.
  5. Ridiculous overreaction on our midfield when we need forwards with skill. Also put Woew back on the ball. Look at Paddy Dow or alternatively Jade Gresham. Perhaps look at Tim Membrey to bolster our goslkickers. We need to be creative and also part ways with our firearm coach please.
  6. Really what a disgraceful option. Old injured and no future with him. Get a younger prospect please. Even Goldstein would be better. !
  7. It just may be as simple as MOVING ON or changing our forward line Coach. I have posted this idea about SIX times in this season and I can't recall any support . Ridiculous ! If you need to change something look at all the factors. Our forward line is a mess and partly the way they are trained obviously and also our shanking of the ball affects our accuracy. All those shots that went out of bounds on the last quarter were poor attempts because the player was not directly facing the goals when kicking or he didn't try an snapshot style of kick at goals to give the ball a Chance. Sutrky all the Coaches must know this. Why don't they get Garry Lyon David Neitz and David Schwarz in for a think tank snd a hard truth ideas session and come up with a strategy. The next thing is to follow up with draft snd trade selections for finishers who have excellent skills to maximise our huge no if forward entries that are just wasted. We are too spendthrift with our quantity over quality attitude. Finally a personal plea to Greg Stafford PLEASE RESIGN ASAP and save our dynasty hopes. You must be sick of this mess anyway. .
  8. Stafford needs to be moved on and this is about the third time I have said in this forum. New forward ideas needed and yes a couple of classy finishers.
  9. Here here Another appalling attacking effort that did every thing to ensure we lost the game. poor connection poor forward effort in no isolation and ghastly attempts at passing to a leading pass. Also multiple times we crashed into each other and lost the ball. Enough poor set goal kicks to ensure we didn't kick enough goals. Every time we did something good one or two players spoilt our efforts by committing changers. A game we should have won yet we didn't play well enough and that's probably why we didn't ultimately win.
  10. That's quite obvious with your c..p selections. Please go back drinking and don't embarrass yourself with such ridiculous selections with not an ounce of common sense or footy logic.
  11. Had had more injuries than most in his last 2 years and lucky not to be outed by the MRO a few times. Would put him on a games played base contest with bonuses for 3 years and tske a chance. Or pay $800 per year for 3 and upset all and sundry.
  12. 3rd Forward is Fritta's to lose He May be 4,5 or6 depending upon where Kossie fits!!
  13. He can if he comes stop the ridiculous habit of Kossie flying for impossibles or unrealtistics!! Goody can impose that on Kossie and he can kick 50 instead of 40 per season!!
  14. Laurie ( although out nearly all first year injured) has taken 2 years and about a dozen VFL and 2 AFL games to mature and I am genuinely excited about his potential. (Think Sam Mitchell style) ie not fast but clean and good on both sides of his body. Will be very hand today if subbed early enough I hope!). Nearly 2 seasons slower than Judd but who cares if they are given a chance to make it now under our system. MJ could be same. Doubt whether we can give all players 6 years like Maxy but thank g.d we did. A Roos/Goodwin win and TJ and Lammie so far credit for Bill L.!!
  15. And never seen MJ play in the flesh!!!
  16. Good point DD and for what it's worth I am in the Picket Fence camp on MJ. He will be a very very good player for us in the future. Just give him time as my earlier post suggests.
  17. Hawkins was a diff type yes but we were a basket case on 09,10, 11 thru to 2015. He didn't breakout really until the 2011 GFinal last quarter and still kicked badly that day as Stevie J got a handpass goal from Tommy in the early stages of that last term to almost seal the Pies fate. MJ May never be a brute but as was mentioned Josh Kennedy is his prototype and never stopped him! He even should have been rubbed out about 3 times and got lucky ( Once vs us in Perth diff rules over there!!! ).
  18. Solved play Laurie who will be perfect as the sub in these conditions. Tmac JVR Fritta Gawny Trac all good in the air and ground. Plus all the smalls and mids up forward and Centre. we have almost over anslysed for experts. Let's leave it to the amateurs like Goody and his six pack!!!
  19. If you read my text I also referred to rain in addition!!'
  20. Agree Grumpy if we had the GF team we would be a bit taller and prob too tall. Happy with Juddy Chin Hunter and JVR. Providing the three small/ mediums dot do a Kossie and fly unrealistically ( not one mark yet I can remember since he started his attempts at MOTC ) Century) is he due tonight? Happy if Goody bans him trying. Much better at ground level and JVR and Jacko about even. If JVR can clunk more then 2 he will have scored 3 goals probably!!! Advantage us !!!
  21. Think they were still talking about the effects also of rain mate. Strong westerlies will prob bring the rain quicker.!!!
  22. I think you are overestimating the Lever influence. Sure Jake is the No 1 King down back with plenty of help from Maysie. But To say he he has the same influence in the workings and strategy onfield in our Forward line is overstating his role. And that is a good thing. It doesn't make sense that Jake is the Captain of our forward line. I regard Jake as one of our best players and leaders and ge may be our next Captain after Gawny. He does a fine job down back and that's enough to ensure control there. Great that he is with us another 4 years and let's go out and beat those Pies on Thursday.
  23. We also have to remember every recruit is different. Just as about 90% of D/Landers were ready to throw Bailey Laurie on the scrap heap about a month ago he has looked in about 3/4 games ( some D/Lers we're vocal on his being given the promotion saying how did it happen) small sample but very effective and looking comfortable and up to the AFL standard. Another slow developer was Chin but ha has save for a game or two looked very much an AFL player. We are a little, some a lot too often writing off players and it has proven that our steady as she goes can produce AFL players. And the Judd McVees are more a rarity from the lower parts of the draft. What a beauty he is. Naturally we expect our high draft picks to mature quicker and that is fair enough. Rjay has 2 knocks on Jeffo both only points in my opinion not reasons he hasn't the skill to make the grade. One is that he is introverted. That may be holding him back in his first year but next year he will have another 5plus kg on his frame and will no longer be the "baby" in the group That Will be the 2023 Draftees and he will also be in pushed from under by wanting to develop to a higher level than the newcomers. It's a mental thing. If he thinks about his game as Picket Fence says he does I will back him to be more out going and noticedin 2024. The fact that he was selected on a "needs basis" and for this same reason James Cook was also and looking at him he was introverted. He was a total failure as a CHF/FF recruit so MJ has the same two reasons for failure as Cook. No mention of the fact that we were a basket case in Cook's years and refer to the last 7/8 years of very successful drafting and trading so let's back JT and Lambie on their record plus our development program has been high class since the same period. Also Casey has developed into a reliable and consistent base for our list I the same period with the likeness in game style etc. the same as for our AFL heroes. Nothing is a given but most would agree that MJ has shown at times his undoubted class and skill and this is a great base to build a career upon and Avery good reason he was a No15 First Round Draft pick. That he is a boy/ man at our footy Club going through a first year is similar to first year at High School after being the big boy or kahuna at State School. Perhaps Fritta or Tmac could take him on as a sort of a project to work with him from pre season on and fast track his ability and game smarts etc. Let us remember Juddy smf more recently Bill Laurie and that breakout lamp in the dark sensational 2015 Cattery breakout game from Maxy. MJ is not near that yet but maybe in the scond half of 2024 he will play that breakout and be on his way then in 2025 he joins JVR in the big time regularly and our forward setup is as Goody JT and well over a quarter of a million Dees fans are salivating about now. It just takes patience and trust plus development and time. We gave Sam Weideman 4 years after his 2018 breakout and showed patience but it didn't work but Chin Tmac Sparrow and Laurie are proof that a little time especially for key position forwards is worthwhile and the rewards are definitely there. T. Hawkins says Hi!
