  1. All clubs figures are inflated why pick out us when all are playing the same Clubs but don't draw the crowds we do at the G or in marquee games. It's a fact we draw more fans to our games than Marvel tenants and most of the interstate home teams games in a two city team town. . Perth are best the Optus Stadium rarely has figures below 40,000 for WC and 30,000 for Freo while Crows and Power also have above 30,000 every home game at Adelaide Oval. Naturally their away crowds reduce accordingly interstate. It is a fact that we have very strong average support from our members as a% of total membership and our figures are growing each year we are providing great value at both home and away. We may not ever be in the "big 4/5 Vic Clubs"but we are pushing our position in the AFL in both on and off the field. Some of our supporters here on D/L should start to acknowledge we are in the top half of the financial Clubs and in the top 6 for crowds, coming off a low 5 decades of inconsistent and generally poor results. Another 5 years of great results and a flag or two would be a further fillip for our development and as posted earlier the signs of children and families over a generation could well set us up to ensure our supporter base remains strong no matter what, pandemic or poorer results in a season occasionally. Gary Pert deserves tremendous credit for his positive thinking and leadership and there should be no naysayers now on his CEO status no matter his past or not. Credit where credit is due to all the admin snd Board for their sterling work and guidance of our Club. Just to please the restless natives this is despite no Training /Admin Centre as yet.
  2. The Alice game is not counted in the figures for the MCG. That was the Plan and I have an inkling that neither the Other home games for Teams Pies tigers and Hawks ie their home games on our figures. After last Sunday we had 10 home games at the G and averaged 48,786 that means 487,786 fans attended. The disappointing 50,000 vs Carlton after we lost 2 games in a row and they had lost multiple games cost us the 50,000 average I believe. Ie 63,000 about 13,000 short just stopped us reaching our goal. But we will have overall a total of over 900,000 after Sunday's sellout at the SCG. Without the two big fixtures of KB and Anzac Eve hopefully home games vs Essendon Saints and Geelong plus Adelaide again in an earlier season fixture might make up the difference. We of course may be scheduled one or two home games vs Pies Blues and Tigers just not the marquee dates. We will set this as a benchmark and then hopefully move that figure up in ensuing years.
  3. Depends on who we are playing. if Lions Port Blues we use Clash jumper. No problems if we face Pies Saints Swans Giants and white shorts also.
  4. Let by them take the 15 we have got I think
  5. We have JVR for very good competitive ruck relief
  6. Depends on where we sit with Georgiadies want him or not?
  7. You forgot Jefferson and Petty
  8. I think Hibbo is under concussion protocols for this week so isn't available.
  9. Yes that was an over the top estimate in my brain adding on away totals to our home figures. SCG last year had 44/45,000 when Pies played in Round 22 and prelim Final. SO maybe the total may be any where up to to 910,000. If it's that then our average crowd is only 10,000 below 40,000. If we play Pies in QF we will nearly// just be over / the million mark. Heady days !!!
  10. Actually it was 39,350 at Marvel but was also called a bumper crowd by the Age reporter. Yes we have an advantage as we can attract larger totals of our own and opposition fans as the MCG takes bigger crowds. But remember Carlton have had Marvel games with between 45,000 plus to about 39/40,000 for Saints Dogs Lions and Swans in their early run of wins. So Pies like Tigers and Hawks and ourselves do not go to Marvel as much. Understandable but I like Marvel because of the indoors and consequent speed on the game. Those who claim our figures are bumped up by opposition fans forget it happens to all sides. Thrte is no doubt we are starting to get more fans families and kids to games and if we can continue making the Top4 for the next 3/4 years and get a flag or two we will start to make some ground and May get a million Home and Away fans eventually. This year is about 930,000 plus so not far off. Great response by Dees fans overall.
  11. Agree There are 2 nonnegotiables. Tommo plays so Lever May can play well and their traditional roles in defence. Also Max is lone star ruckman and JVR gives him a spell up forward at the boundary and odd ball up. No Brodie sadly it isn't team balance. And Smith as sub I suppose is a good insurance policy.
  12. Great idea but you are trying to reinvent what has basically failed. The greatest modern ruckman deserves to play where he is best for the team ie the RUCK. Only cameos up forward and also down back. JVR has done ok in the ruck and our team balance is best that way. it's unfortunate but we can't select a team for individuals. We are in the business of winning premierships and that is not negotiable. You and others will no doubt be unhappy if we don't do the team thing and allow Maxy to continue his great form which has resulted in 5 wins out of 6.
  13. Well the estimate average is 44,000 if Alice figures are included and 48,636 if excluded. Nearly double your stab Praha and the Plan says games at the G. That's what was meant and we are not far off it. If both Dees and Carlton had won say the two weeks prior to our May home game and it was a very cold night I have no doubt we would be over 50,000 average with say 60/65, attending that game. FWIW I think we will get between 40,000 and 48,000 at Hawks on Sunday depending upon the Breast Cancer figures and no. Of Hawks that turn up or if it's a replacement game for them also. So close to that 50,000 average despite the 2 big matches vs Pies and Tigers.
  14. There are ONLY 8 Interstate teams unless you are counting Cats or Tassie already. West Coast and Freo can't make it so 4 is the possible viewing for the top 8 as Port and Lions are already in the Top 4. And safe. How does this affect your comment now?
  15. Really Brownie it was too subtle and close to the bone for us really still st this stage if the season and the overall umpiring not to mention the goalies role.
  16. The gear Gus was wearing was promoting our Breast Cancer Game awareness vs Hawks. Gus is always involved in Promotion of other life or matters they the Club is involved in. Also through Gus and Gawn extra promotion around the traps for his podcast is done. Has that affected his firm previously? Don't think so. Footballers have to go the Club line in this day and age it's line ball what the event or happening is sometimes but we are a Club that has very strong social interest around society.
  17. Fritta replaces Grundy I suppose.
  18. He won't be played if he is not 100% fit. What do you think the Club is going to do ? Hi back to lady year and play unfit players again? Not after ALL year being conservative about being 100% and not being selected. He is our best forward also and I am not so sure we can rely on Casey playing I don't know the VFL Finals dates. There is also something about a wildcard round for Finals teams from 4 to say 10.
  19. It's nothing to do with " eyes on the footy." The tunnelling free can be deliberate or accidental. If it occurs it should be paid.
  20. Not if it compromises the double chance. We may not have a choice Swans are playing well and kicking straight.
  21. Fourth line should read: "but it seems the players have"
  22. They can't really as the 6;6;6 rule is in place at the bounce I am certain. Also Simpson said they had not trained for a close finish as they hadn't been in any recently. Make of that what you will.
  23. He seems part of the problem to me. Belatedly they are getting rid bybretirement butcsermdcyhevplsyers have initiated this mostly. Will be interesting when they do their list snd trading weeks start.
  24. He's saying maybe play him in the centre ( not the ruck rover) but all day might be a stretch too far. Could he rest for a short while forward? Prob not. Rest on the bench in 23 and get tank really going for a bigger role next year. Of course he can go back to HB if needed. Sometimes we may need his extra height across HB or last line.
  25. LRedFE So we trade because we have about 5 players able to take Salo's spot (not necessarily his style of game either) and are about $2/300,000 less st this stage of their career. To say Salo has been poor this year is grossly wrong. He was down last week in disposal and composure, his two greatest assets. His season has been good, not great as in 2021. We don't get rid of either ANB or Salo and as has been stated both play different roles. ANB is in rare form (career best) finishing his work with goals and I am backing Christian to return to his proficient and classy best.
