Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed
Jones is just as much outside if not more than in IMO.

AFL Trade Radio
Dont want McKernan As he is same as Mitch Brown but I suppose he can play in the ruck whereas That's not Mitch's forte.

AFL Trade Radio
Josh Dunkley clearly wants midfield time He was not impressed playing a Ruck 2 roll and only about 25% on the ball in 2020.

Hibberd Extends for 2021
Absolutely P2J Hibbo nearly back to his best This season even his kicking. Takes a strong person to do what he did and was consistently near our best 5 each game. Deserves to start in Round1 next year opposite Riv on the HB flanks.

2020 Player Reviews: #41 Jay Lockhart
Complete over reaction on Jay Was unbelievably rejected by Selectors after Bulldogs game. Is IMO a naturally talented footballer with good/high level of skills and as is required takes the game on ( occasionally to his detriment )so that our attacking game can start in defence and give us the best chance of scoring. Perhaps Jay takes on a bit too much but he is an exciting and relevant replacement for Nev. Please keep him in defence he will only get better and gain great confidence after playing with Maysie Jake Riv Hibbo Smithy Salo Tommo and whoever else is playing with him. Two year contract please and fair go at selection during 2021.

The Brodie Smith thread
Why is Smith not to play on wing ?' Has never played half back even remotely Ruth Hawks! I like Salem Up forward and Riv will Play HB mostly with an occasional trip up the ground perhaps when required.

Dissecting the List
Good work Turner I agree But would have Clarry as an A grader based on his 5 years total form and stats. Would def have Langers as a B or B+ After his great season born out in the B and F .
-
Adam Treloar
We would have to have Woods pay proportion of Adams salary and /or Tomac could be used In trade, if Pies are keen. I think he is an outside mid which we need big time but he does butcher the ball nearly as bad as the worst Melb disposer Such as Tommy used to be in defence.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
He is one quick learner Jacko and as keen as mustard and oh so competitive. He will do ruck forward and mid next season and have a good season going all of that .

Rumour only file ...

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Seriously AF and Demon Disciple how long do you think Jacko will take to develop as a regular Ists player? A number of years. Thats not accurate as he will develop next season as a Ruck support for Max and as a floating forward around the Forward line. I have no doubt he will earn his place next season due to his talent competitiveness and determination to succeed. He will learn as he plays and may need a couple of rest days or to be managed but full steam ahead and with Brown and Weid Providing greater support fir each other our Forward line should function much better also with Kossie Fritta and others

Board Changes
That's because we are the last Club to want or get a Base!! Directors all hsve different Board responsibilities like for Football which Brad Green wii get I imagine Others because of Their corporate financial or business skills Will get a Financial Role. Also others are multi skilled or Jack of all trades on the Bosrd. Gender also become important on Boards these days. Thought this was obvious and made clear and open by the Choice of Merrick by Bartlett. Its also harsh to continually blame Boards and Committees NOW fir a raft of decisions for over half a century!
-
Trade Harmes?
Fritta had that role In Rounds 17 and 18 and beat Haynes and Ridley comfortably and scored goals and missed shots !!
-
Board Changes
You queried his appointment indicating that it was prob due to Perty overstating our position at this stage on the Base fir our Club and it was solely on that by your comment Not due to really a smart business Decision to get expertise Where we may need it ( after the previous dIrector had Resl estate skills also) as stated by Bartlett and his loyalty to the Dees as a supporter being relevant also. agsin you took IMIO a negative and cynical look with no praise offering.

Board Changes
HFF you font need to convince me that you are not agreeable to some of Melb's traits And administrative or footy decisions. My point was that people can perform role in changing Clubs or businesses. Also your cynicism about Rob Merrick snd Brad Green is negative way to look at their appointments. A half glass full might be a better approach until you see reason to criticise. Brown and Smith were used as an exsmple of my point as well. It voulcc dc be any footballer. .Who do you think we should recruit in the trade period then? what game are you referring to go back and look??? I am Going to finish my coffee my cup is half full looking towards 2021!!!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
That is about equal for pressure but another tall marking player WILL put pressure on defences like Lynch has at Tigers. Brown will be an asset And his accuracy a boost as well.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
It's not a modelling or hair fashion competition It's a football list precessions yo improve and that why we should embrace any decent player and give him a chance to break a rather long drought fir a glad. Not sure about everyone one but as every season snd GF passes I am More impatient than ever fir success. Lrts give our boys the best chance In 2021 and beyond.

2021 - What excites you?
Foot soldiers worry me Most except Petty (inj) and Spargo Baker and Hunt had a Largely inconsistent ( promising at times) season. The others had their worst seasons ever snd are all lucky if they are not delisted (Jordan and Hore excepted). Need at least 3 good AFL players for forward wing and small running roles plus 4 draft players in addition with good running and disposal skills. Plus great improvement in Gus Harmes Melksham and development of Locky Jacko Kossie and Riv and Tommo Weid and Smith is a given.Oh and add a decent game plan with forward and mids connection on all levels. Then we should be in the line for Finals In 2021.

Board Changes
Oh and Brad Green being employed as a Coach recently. He is now a free agent not tied to any one and has been chosen after offering to GIVE UP his spare time. Thanks Brad BTW 2 weeks ago Adam Yze was employed by the Hawks ! is he not appropriate fir an Assistant or Senior Coaching role? Heaven forbid if we recruit those Brown and Smith characters We will need them to quarantine for 6 mths before they pull on our wonderful Red and Blue guernsey!!! Maybe you can't adjust in your life but others can as they have an open mind and positive outlook on new challenges in life!!!

Board Changes
This is a replacement Of Director Situation and why not utilise a confirmed loyal Dees fan with totally appropriate credentials to assist on the most major Club strategy needed in the next 2/3 years (other than winning a flag)? If we had got a person skilled in bread making you would have been all over that like a rash. Sorry HFF be even and fair and give some credit occasionally and don't be cynical and/ or Disenchanted ALL the time.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Yes you are harsh in your opinion IMO and would prob only have one A grader at the Dees Gawn or Trac I believe we have 4 with Clarry and Maysie also. My opinion of Fritta is beside upon his skill and ability he has. Right now he is prob only a "B" BUT he has so much room for improvement. Strength accuracy footy smarts leading and confidence are all areas and he has indicated he wants to improve his game big time. If he can I believe he will be as important to us or more Jack Gunston has been For the Hawks. I can't help feeling you have already marked his papers never or not to get to A grade for the Dees I have been frustrated a lot with Bayley but poor coaching and development have not helped and his confidence is the most important for Bayley in his improvement.

Assistant Coaches 2021
PJ I would like to see Salem on the HFF really as he upped his competitiveness and urgency after halfway of 2020. Maybe a stint on the ball and in the centre and also the FOrward Pocket would translate into a very dangerous goal kicker. With Rivers and Lockhart coming on I reckon we can move Salo to where he can do maximum damage on the scoreboard Its generally easier to Find a HB flanker from your list.

Trade Targets
Good summary SONS hope we get those 4 Whst draft no's would we have then? 23? 9? A third and fourth rounder undetstsnd the draft no will be About5/8 picks after with FandS and NGA selections at some stages
