  1. Speak for yourself Steno!!!
  2. No No No social football is tougher and more shanks hits than AFL!!
  3. Disagree The 85,000 members that have signed up Consistently lately are More likely the reason. Tasmania supported that with members and Govt funding but it's just the same as saying our NT games majorly helped save us from debt.
  4. We have a choice in life OD positive Or negative or neutral!!! Take your pick you have!!!
  5. My feeling is NO out of consideration of all facts and health factors for Paddy. At the same time I hope that if Paddy wants to play he gets an opportunity. Last year we gave Harley a chance but since feel That Paddy is similar to Weid in that he needs to produce form Early on the make it worthwhile. His form to be fair when available had not been great either. Realise it is a harsh call but entirely realistic one for our Club.
  6. The key words Skills 32 is "lack the skills"!! I don't want a team of kick off the ground lazy players! Lets get skilled team players that put their bodies on the line and back their ability to get and dispose of the ball as best as their ability allows them. There were about 5/6 kicks off the ground last week in the AFLW and I agreed with about 3 of them as to the Best choice as advantage to our team! Wet weather also is the best reason for Kicking off the ground but we get that about Twice a season!!! Maybe you and I will have to agree to disagree ( kick or not kick off the ground) in this case.
  7. Unfortunately that's where it ends Loges their body language expertise ?? Is not matched by their football brains. Talk of always going for " the next best player " In a draft 1st Round and not considering our desperate wants and needs is a lazy and hazardous draft selection policy. BTW who is the next best player?? 18 Clubs look at this so differently.because of their lists and needs anyway. LJ snd Kossie and Laurie and Bowey are our examples. Ironically looks as though Riv at no 32 was indeed the next best player ( actually put that back to end if first round as the next best!!). Loved the way JT stood steadfastly firm That Rosman was the choice "He could easily ( or be ready to ) explode". Its that X factor approach you need occasionally to get a list of all different types which I think we have really got now with 2019 and 2020 draft and trade recruits.
  8. They will do as much ruck relief between them as needed especially LJ who will be Lukey Everywhere as his young legs Build his career like a young colt. Bradtke could also get a chance if necessary but I wouldn't be looking at a ruck especially for rookie or SSS or mid year draft.
  9. Not sure if Round1 but would really like to see the Saints Cats and Tigers games. All depends upon Travel Lockdown and vaccine Plus AFL strategy of course. Qld to Vic and return is very much like a Demons season ( of the past hopefully) plenty of highs and lows!! Really want to see a young side selected So we can grow over the year, as youth is the exciting growth pattern to hit our team if we are to succeed in 2021. OUT (Depth and will get some games but not all in same team.) AVB ANB Jets Milkshake Jonesy ( still will get 300 though) . IN ( Opportunities early on for some but no restrictions over the season) Laurie Bowey Rosman Jordon Sparrow and of course LJ Kossie and Riv. Even Nieitschke Chandler and Bedford are not without hope. BBB of course after Round3/4. Just hope we can all get there and celebrate these newbies combining with the old favourites!
  10. That may well be a thing of the past Layzie especially if we don't get railroaded ( sorry air Freighted) to Cairns.
  11. From all reports Percy Beames and Stuart Spencer were't half bad BUT the exercise IS THIS CENTURY., D 56!!!! There's always some one that plays outside the rules. Please go back to our Team of the 20th Century and create another topic !! PS If you do !!!! I saw all of Wells's games and almost all of Hassa's at the MCG. Wells is the Jonesey of the 70,s great in a poor team and Hassa was a junior in a great team till 65 then was our best player for another 5 years. Alves was one of our best wingers of course only just behind by the legend that is Brian Dixon!
  12. Thanks Rufus A little less "fake news " from D/L and the media driven news Might Temper this impression. Yes it's disappointing and a bit worrying but our own lack of belief also can lead us to imsgine the worst. Lets hope 2021 can allay any fears and we can fulfill our potential success dreams.
  13. However the impression about a prac game today at Casey between Tigers and Dees gained any traction staggers me. Clearly the dates of Feb 25 or 26 were listed ( and are still) so how come this mythical practice event warranted even Comment that it got is also surprising. It's the same Bleating snd constant posting about Casey Fields training and lack of Club website reporting since Jan or even late 2020. Access to Casey Fields is vital ( especially now with snakes around) but not one rep. From D/L has apparently to my knowledge spoken or contacted the Club Ie CEO, or Footy Dept about Possible access or importance of that role for our group to provide reports due to the tyranny of distance. This in no way reflects on the varied and comprehensive contributions that we have greatly appreciated on occasions We do tend to believe our posters and this practice match is a prime example. Did anyone ring the Club for verification?? Amazingly the doyen of our training reports of Previous years has either gone troppo or can't find his pen Or car keys to update Us. Has he retired? Can he approach the Club about ground access With his alleged contacts or has he retired? Or Is Casey below his dignity! Or is it so Covid related that the Council have ruled out restricted and safe access totally!! BTW hope he is in good health. We Are at times are our Own worst enemies believing the universe begins here and Are Often left with egg ( and mayonnaise) on our pens and faces to our detriment. Back to the real D/L infoline or the hotline to the Club might be better value.
  14. I know Who most Teams would like to face At the opening bounce and it's Bruce and Johnstone rather than Clarry and Trac. Ironically Trav is a Centreman really and Bruce mainly a half forward So changing them and 10% toughness would be the result.and players in their best possie also. In addition Vince might provide versatility but our Bernie is not the Adelaide version do Robbie as our third highest goal kicker earns a bench spot on decade of devotion and thrills he gave us! ( Still he hardly ever picked up a ball off the ground once he flew and missed the mark). Did Bizzell play long enough ? I mean Ward Walsh Even Hibbo have played enough In comparison. Ingerson surely over May who in 2 years will be a cert for FB.
  15. Bit harsh on Tommy but he has to perform no doubt. So does Mitch Brown who is very honest when selected Think you will find both Fritsch and Jacko will with Kossie get more of the ball this year and do much more with it with Bowey ANB Laurie Rosman Debuting and Spargo improVing our competitive assault we should get a lot more goals with team play and varied style players crumbing leading and greater skills in conversion. Then BBB can come back and provide a spearhead of quality with Weid about mid year getting his opportunity to join a productive and improving forward line.
  16. Agree and Yze will need to change our stats stars phobia (except for Trac who just instinctively shows great disposal and team traits). Clarrie and Jack need to change and Harmes needs to return in form in the midfield and I feel that both Sparrow and Jordon are waiting in the wings impatiently for their turn To help our team as well the likes of Salem and even Bowey and Laurie may get Yzes nod to cameos Where and when considered necessary or and/or appropriate.
  17. Suggest you alter the facts Biff and if that was your son doing that what would you say? Being a good son or Imply that it does not mean he can't play footy (and you know it! )
  18. How many games played of available ( when not injured is the critical figure but you left that out for Whatever reason ) ??? I agree this injury puts pressure on Sam but if ever he is hogging to make it this year is his best chance. I have faith that given a chance he will respond but at best now he may not be to convince Club other than a one year contract extension or even a rookie chance. Heres hoping Sam can show he is good enough.
  19. Line that idea I have picked Salo in my early dude's fir 2021 but lately based on his form determination and the track reports are convinced that Fraser Rosman is advanced enough in his development and also importantly physique. Plays naturally and creates opportunities with run all day. No point in delaying him if he is ready and earned an opportunity on the wing. Will also add to our marking wherever he plays at 193cm. However Salem is still a great option fir wing or even half forward with his elite Skills.. Also don't think we should rule out either Bowery or Laurie for a start up forward wing or even half back using Jake as a Caleb Daniel type. Plenty of options I MO if the newbies show up in the trial games, But still like moving Salo further up the ground Pates your idea and mine is a good one. Sales last few games in 2020 were top class in output and impact.
  20. Others will stop Goody this year and he is obviously not fit!
  21. Done more training in full match practice than Melksham!!
  22. How come you have not ruled out Melksham he has done very little training also ? Rosman a shoe in on the other wing.
  23. He can be training up forward on Friday DD if asked. He has been up forward you would know but many Dees fans believe he could play Forward also with success, asked on about 3/4 games in 2019 up forward. Your statement seems just like Goody's inflexibility which we don't need at our Club especially when injuries are occurring in a major way.
