NON MFC: Round 17
Zak Jones will miss Friday night’s clash with the Giants with a hamstring injury. The St Kilda midfielder reported soreness following the Round 17 clash against the West Coast Eagles, with subsequent scans revealing a minor strain. https://www.saints.com.au/news/813616

Mumford Fined For Punching Gawn
Noticed it on the replay, fair whack to the back/side of the head. Surprising no fine for the whack he gave Oliver too. Mumford continually came in late with force .

Adam Saad
Even if they are difficult to deal with, think past dealings with Hib/Melk were favorable to both parties so potentially good relationship between the clubs

Serong/Pickett trade
Decided to check how Kossie ranks compared to other MFC players Yes there are some areas he can improve on, but the below not bad for a first year player IMO Contested Possessions - 10th Ground ball Gets - 8th F50 - Ground ball gets - 5th Shots at goal - 5th Score involvements - 11th Tackles - 7th Tackles inside 50 - 2nd Goal assists - 5th Pressure Acts - 6th Now are these stats supporting of Kossie or an indictment on some of the other players aha.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Brown will be hungry to prove a point against the Bombers. Liked his efforts in recent weeks. When is the next injury report from Burgo due

Time to have a talk about Jayden
It's a strange year for the players, wouldn't read too much into body language.

Serong/Pickett trade
Exactly, not every trade/swap etc will have a loser.

Time to have a talk about Jayden
I like Hunt. He's a good versatile squad/depth option and you need those - that factor may be important if lists are shrunk. But agree with an earlier post in the thread, he may ask for a trade

Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
especially as 2018 was a strange year that came together late. By the time Goody had re-signed for 3 years at the club the "Is Goodwin the right guy...." was 97 pages long.

It's very Melbourne how the season worked out. Before the season people were saying we had a fairly good fixture but then someone ate a bat.

Brayshaw Out for Rest of 2020
Hopefully not the last we see of him in the Red and the Blue!

Jack Gunston
Wonder what would be needed to get a deal like that over the line
-
Aiden Corr
Agreed not most pressing - Upgrade fine provided the salary doesn't go overboard. OMac and Smith, imagine one if not both may not be there next year - so there'd be a spot - Unless they throw Tmac back there again. Seems we've put Tomlinson on relatively good coin and the best games he's played have been in the backline.
-
Tom McDonald
I know we shouldn't pay too much attention to some ex-player pundits, but that's quite a shift over the course of a shortened season
-
Aiden Corr
Ah yes another tall defender, wonder who he'd replace in the squad or if they'd persist with Tomlinson down back.

Tom McDonald
Interesting one isn't it, used to dominate time trials etc now seems a different player. If he's hampered by injury - bit of a concern that Burgess and team haven't been able to come up with an apparent solution. If he's bulked up too much and that's led to reduced mobility etc, surely they would he detected this at the start of the year. Reminds me of when Lukaku bulked up too much for the WC in 2018, got back to his club side and struggled with form as he had lost that bit of pace etc. If he's a confidence/form player then the lack of adequate 'reserves' comp won't help him get into it. Uncertain of a trade, still could play a role in some description IF body can be sorted.

ANOTHER WASTED SEASON WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO?
This is the thing for me, the bottom X amount of players -from squad to fringe etc. If we're looking at it from a point of view that coaching can't help these players improve. What structure/format/changes/gameplan could the coach implement where these players are more cogs in a wheel and their deficiencies sort of 'hidden' as such. Drafting has been somewhat scattergun and there are players who aren't at the required level i understand that. But surely a coach should be able to construct some form of a system that doesn't highlight their inefficiencies as much.

How the year 2020 can redeem itself
I care about what Hawthorn do, hopefully it's lose all remaining games to boost our pick

TRADES, DELIST, PROMOTE
I'd like Hunt to stay, think he's a versatile squad option. But he's been out of the team for large chunks of the season, writing may be on the wall for him or he may be may want to seek other opportunities

Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers
Cry me a Rivers. Jokes aside he has been a very good selection with hopefully a lot more to come for the red and the blue.
