Wouldn't read too much about a long weekend fixture against an interstate team. COVID plays it part too, whether it be the ticketing system, people attending things that were delayed due to covid or fear of covid itself etc. I've been to the 3 home games and flew up to the Goldy, have seen 4 wins - in some other seasons that's as many games as we won all season aha
  2. He's had 3 already would like to see him stick around in a bit longer but as said before BBB a best 22 player, imagine they'll drop SW before Tmac
  3. Was an emergency for the GC game though, so not sure what is going on there
  4. Hunt has some deficiencies by foot and a little inconsistent with his distribution but still think he has some different ingredients to some of the other defenders so should stay. This season he's currently =8th in terms of clangers. I guess defensive mistakes more noticeable ?
  5. Liked the way Chandler went about it in his first game in 2019, 9 tackles. Hasn't he only gotten on the field twice? Feel sorry for Bedford/Chandler - they've lost valuable experience and development with COVID. Both seem to be very popular the club and i am happy they are on the list for now. Not sure they'll ever get an extended run in the team where we'll be able to judge them fully though
  6. Nobody post a thread about our 100% Win Record.
  7. Ch7 were going on about our squad and our 'embarrassment of riches" last night, we've moved on from plain embarrassment at least. Hopefully these selection headaches will keep players on there toes. Without injury hard to see the Dunstan cracking this team for a while. Will be hard for Smith to get back into the team next week, will be even harder when Petty back. I like Weid, but think he'll be out next week.
  8. If you add up the AFL and The Age Tipsters only 1 of 22 are backing Gold Coast. Surprised me a little given how they played at home against us.
  9. Winger and someone back from an ACL injury, warriors Eddie can run all day, what a LEGend
  10. Quite a conundrum. Smith's athleticism and leap have been impressive this season. Tomlinson been solid, hasn't done anything to be dropped but still might cop it this week. Hunt has butchered the ball a bit but still has a good run and carry (yes it can be off sometimes). I don't know the answer. They may delay BBB this game but that only delays the decision a week and with Petty a few weeks away it's going to get even tougher for the selection panel.

  12. https://www.mcc.org.au/_/media/files/mcc/my-mcc-membership/2022-afl-football-guide-for-mcc-members.pdf?la=en It's category 2, not fully ticketed BUT you can reserve your seat now, So it's semi ticketed. 13. Let's see how good our conditioning is post-Burgo then
  14. Good news, still remember bringing a pal to a Melbourne game last year who hadn't watched much footy in a few years - In the first quarter he said Spargo looked too small/slow, by the end of the game he saw the light.
  15. Didn't let us kick ahead, some good individual performances. Wonder how long they'll be able to maintain this effort this year. Went up for this game, was surprised how many Dees fans there were at the game, nice little stadium too, was worried it was going to rain so got tickets near the back, false alarm but still good view.
  16. Googled things to do in crap weather and was sad to see this place had stopped. Australia's shame
  17. River end, is that a GA area?
  18. Anyone know the best area to sit at Metricon? Or alternatively is there a specific area that Queensland demon members may sit etc.
  19. OUT: Me attending a game at the MCG IN: Me attending a game on the Gold Coast
  20. He'll be ok in the interim until the others are back, new recruits and a more defined structure with leadership will help this time.
  21. Probably did a voice recording as he didn't want someone to screenshot his message, but you can screen record anything on an iphone either way - easy to capture -
  22. I can understand why that one was given from a rules perspective (given Smith had no eyes on the ball ) - very unlucky for Smith but think Weightman did initiate some minimum contact to get the free - simultaneously milked and conned the umpire. Found it funny Clarry/Gawn responsible for 13 of the 30 frees.
  23. Speaking of Newcastle and outbursts against Journos, reminded me of when Joe Kinnear (then interim manager) had a go at a Simon Bird (a journalist) and opens his press conference with... JK: Which one of you Simon Bird? SB: Me? JK: You're a c*** (rhymes with punt) He then proceeds to have a go at another Journo and just swears at everyone; full transcript below https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/oct/03/newcastleunited.premierleague
  24. In '96 I was turned 12, so there would have been some sadness without being fully aware of the ramifications but would continued to follow. But as Jack and Todd discussed, going through the struggle made the grand prize more rewarding.
  25. Oh understand the facilities are good at the above, just found it funny years later in 2022 we're still trying to source a training base/facility. That being said if we did merge, would the club be training at Dingley, Glenferrie Rd or have jumped in before Collingwood to secure whatever its called now.
