Absolutely gone if we lose tonight. Rather than flogging a dead horse which might see you scrape into the eight best to plan for next year. In particular if we are gone I would take absolutely no chances with Lever. If he does another knee then it turn into an unmitigated disaster. Of the other players mentioned they are either injury prone (AVB); unfit to play a season out (May) over rated (Gartlett) or just to old (Lewis). I cant see these players leading a premiership or even finals assault. Some of the team that are flying such as GC; Brisbane; Port leave us for dead in term of pace and fitness levels. Also I just cant see us competing with the heavy weight. Of the team currently in the eight I think the only suspect teams are Dogs & Freo. The Pies are a certainty so that leave one slot and it hard to see us passing the Swans; Tigers and Crows. No unfortunately where gone and in some respect it maybe a blessing as it will give May/Lever time to be firing next year plus a top draft pick to rectify our key issue outside run. If you factored that in to our team then we would not only make the finals but could be a genuine threat,

To have any hope we need t o try something different. If Frost or OMac play on Franklin where going to get flogged. For mine start Max at CHF; Preuss to the ruck and TMac on Buddy. It might not work but will guarantee if we start with a predictable line up we will get hammered.

I just hope they try something different.Why not give Preuss a go in the ruck and start Max forward. If we go with stock standard plans we will lose. Requires something out of the box.

Have no issue with that and agree far bigger issues than two players but these two are seriously hard to feel sorry for.

There are easier assignments than feeling sorry for O Mac and Frosty. Those two cause more heart burn than any others.

The implied sledge by Melbourne about standard at Gold Coast are complete BS, The Suns train as hard as anyone. Right or wrong May situation look and smell bad. It called due diligence Lever had known knee injuries and May soft tissue plus slow last and fat in the worse team in the AFL. Yes it could have worked but like throwing your last dollars on zero when spinning the roulette wheel. These recruiting decisions were massive fair or not this is a complete bust.

If I read one more quote for Melbourne supporters to be patient. This is not just about poor form the start to the season is an unmitigated disaster. These issues are bigger than the coach and as usual they are a reflection on the whole club. How the hell have we ended up with a goal to goal line which is close to the worst in the league. How have we burnt top draft pick to secure two injury prone defenders. Who is responsible for recruiting a defensive coach who game plan would not work in under 9. How can we come into a season so woefully under prepared. How is it we have one of the best mid fields in the league including the best ruckman yet are on the bottom of the ladder. What strategies are in place to assist Goodwin who is wearing all responsibilty. How can we have no outside leg speed when this deficiency has been obvious for years. Why do we have a president and chair who are completely invisible when the titanic is sinking. This is so much more than poor form it is completely indicative of what been happening since 1965. Successful club have a winning culture it is clear this place is utterly devoid of these principles. Whilst some club under perform it is not to the extent of this disaster. Sorry this has been served up for to long. Supporters were patient through the re build and have a right to expect better than what is being served up at present. The president and CEO need to get off their collective backsides and explain to members how we have arrived at this horror show. I was patient and optimistic with the Roos re build but believe somewhere somehow it gone off the rails. This is far more than just momentary form and I feel that five years of patience has been completely burnt.

Simon Goodwin seem like an honest decent fella but his press conferences are the pits. Surely comment that we have to get better are puerile. It is stating the obvious without any genuine attempt to explain how this horror show has unfolded. These last 6 games aren’t just losses they are debasing the fan base of the club. How about some proper analysis regarding how the bombers forward line was so open and easy to score. Just saying it not been good enough for three week is well short of an explanation. There is nothing he has said that sway you that it will get any better next week. Why not get the defensive coach in to explain how our defence is so awful.

Totally agree with these comments. Roos set a sound foundation. Goodwin is a young coach does he have someone who could mentor him. He will be overwhelmed soon the club need to do something as this is going to get ugly
