The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
In term of being a basket case Dees leave suns for dead. No premiership since 64; one finals campaign since 2006; multiple bottom four finishes over 50 years and no genuine home. That said we would butcher pick two or trade it for another injury prone player.

Round 21 Non MFC Games
Hawthorn are an incredible club. Years of success and no top draft pick but never bottom out. Have let go some genuine stars yet are already beating the like of Geelong; GWS etc. Plus they do it without a Brownlow medal winner thereby ignoring injuries as an excuse for mediocrity. You just know Clarkson will have this team back competing for premiership whilst we will still be arguing over who to pick with our number one draft pick. If you ever want to understand why Melbourne is an average club compare us to Hawthorn over 50 years. Yet we get a coach from Essendon. Surely if you have half a brain you get a coach from the Clarkson production line of assistant coaches. Just look at Brisbane with Fagan it pretty damn obvious.

Round 20 Non MFC Games
Suns aren’t that bad any priority pick knocking Dees down the pecking order would be a slap in the face after 50 years of failure.

The Melbourne Problem!
Can’t see how May action this year qualify him as a leader

Goody Presser (2/8)
May another week wasn’t it meant to be minor. The recruitment of Lever and May a big reason where no good. Can it be turned around in 2020 it would want to be.

Look at Suns potential Day; King and Wright in the forward line. Compare that to Melbourne.

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
Totally agree Jones has zero impact just jog around picking up soft kick. Never break a tackle alway falls to ground. Has been a passenger ever since he dropped that soda in the first game. Been a great servent but it time.

Don’t assume this club has the common sense to ditch some of these players they just resigned ANB the ball butcher.

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
There is no rectification. Our recruiting is diabolical. How is it possible to have so many bad players. There is simply no easy fix but years of pain and drafting. How has it got so bad. Who is accountable? The decline in membership will be devastating but who can blame people. If the Suns improve we will finish last next year.

Other than TMac (stinker of a season) May (alway injured) Melksham & Van Den Berg (never plays) this is about as good as a Melbourne side can be. The perennial excuse of injuries doesn’t withstand scrutiny as many of our other injured players are B grade. This really is a winnable game and the club, coach and team really should be held accountable if they don’t. For that reason I think they will win. If they don’t it really confirm how seriously bad we are and why Gary Lyon assessment is so accurate. If we lose it hard to see us winning another game. Only Suns ineptitude saving us from the spoon. No wonder people laugh at you or feel sorry for you when you say your a Dees supporter. Since 1967 I have been a member what a hellish club to support but once your hooked there no changing. In a way you have to feel for Goodwin a young coach who walk into a seriously cursed club with a life long flawed culture. If Goodwin stay then for god sake revamp the assistants around him a bigger bunch of no names I have ever seen. At a club level push to get our facilities sorted it an indictment on the AFL that every club has state of the art facilities for players and admin except the foundation club of the game. With talk of Suns getting handout who have incredible post Comm games we are getting left behind. Maybe there should be a protest march to AFL house to get some equality.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs West Coast Eagles
Let not kid ourselves Eagles were in second gear and just put the foot down when they had to. Being the second worse team is reality irrespective of today effort; injuries and appalling umpiring. The club is in serious trouble slow on the outside; poor skills and non existent forward line. The question is after a rebuild of years how can we be so bad. The constant reference to it will click next year is delusional. This is not just about Goodwin but the systemic issues at the club such as years of failure; lack of quality facilities; poor recruiting and an invisible board. Losing Roos and Jackson has been catastrophic. Beyond Goodwin it is impossible to have any optimism I truly believe next year maybe even worse

Round 18 Non MFC Games
Injuries have definitely been a factor but 17th on the ladder is beyond injuries. Absolute disgrace for everyone connected with the club. Excuses have been flying but seriously it beyond comprehension. Can anyone believe the last rebuild has been nothing but a complete con job yet no ramifications for anyone.

POSTGAME: Rd17 vs Bulldogs
There are only two winnable games remaining Swans and Saints. Assuming we wiin one of those we finish with six wins and second last. What a coaching feat by Goodwin.
