  1. OMG no wonder we lose OMac to Frost to Weid to TMac. At the moment this is our best no wonder where totally no hope. So depressing. If this is our best. Unfortunately that is our reality.
  2. I would agree with that if I had not experienced 50 years of failure. The sign for the club are very ominous that not throwing in the towel it reality.
  3. Gary Lyon had a shot about May fitness. May himself confirmed he was not at the standard required by the club and has since suffered two soft tissue injuries. We lost Hogan for this guy did we do any due diligence on his work ethic. I have posted before that living on the Gold Coast have seen a lot of May. Has alway had soft tissue issues and appeared lazy. Lyon article seem to shine a light on this. https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/garry-lyon-takes-second-stab-at-melbourne-recruit-steven-may/news-story/1f1237011f0c654c6f4bb1f1441d64f9 By the way Petracca by any definition is not fat.
  4. Putting aside our ability to condition players to avoid soft tissue injuries question need to be asked about recruiting players who are injury prone. At the moment the recruitment of Lever and May are bomb. Lever had known knee problems was it worth the risk. So far the answer is a resounding no. How was this recruitment decision assessed. Before I get howled down about May as a regular at Suns games he suffered from numerous soft tissue injuries beyond the fact he is slow and lazy. His groin injury come as no surprise. If these trade decision blow up it will set Melbourne back years. Let hope they got it right but to me the risk was bigger than the reward on these trades.
  5. Totally agree it not just Goodwin. There is something inherently rotten about this club. The only time we have improved is when Roos and Jackson were imposed on the club by the AFL. Now they are gone we are slipping back to where we normally habituate the sewer. There are reason why there are successful clubs this club just doesnโ€™t cut it and I am sorry to say never will.
  6. One word. Misery. Fifty years of this crap. We were never going to win this game but didnโ€™t even give a yelp. Good clubs Geelong, Hawthorn just keep winning loser clubs like Melbourne alway fail. We are so far off it year on year of crap at least we wonโ€™t have the misery of another flooding in the finals. Sure we will get more Goodwin [censored].
  7. I just canโ€™t buy this concept that Petracca is unfit. As an example during the off-season he trained with Dustin Martin in Bali in extreme heat. Training where he worked just as hard as Dusty. This is training beyond official sanctioned training. Petracca is fit but with minimal pre season game time players of his build lack match fitness which is different to general fitness. Reading these threads it is implied that his unfit state is linked to a lack of effort. I donโ€™t think that is either fair or correct.
  8. Totally agree. There has to be some common themes as to why each of last years top 4 struggled. It a long season I would not be cashing in the chips yet. I was at the game yesterday down from the Gold Coast and could not believe how hot it was. In the first quarter it passed my mind that Port were doing an Ali rope a dope. The Dees attacked furiously for a quarter for a small lead but clearly spent all petrol ticket doing it. They were spent after that and it showed up in the last when we did not score. I think there were one off factors relating to this game such as heat and fitness that wonโ€™t be so big in future games. The nucleus of this side is very good and performance should be judged over a season not one game. I am confident this will turn around but probably in for a rough few weeks.
  9. We can only hope that Burton is a gun and Scully & Wingard are busts. Seriously other than the Dees winning a flag my greatest hope is to see Hawthorn slide. 50 years of domination is enough.
  10. I read it make sense!
  11. Seriously Freo have been undermining one of our key players in Hogan for years. Now they have a chance to get him they want under or get severe stage fright. Talk about indecisive. You can build a whole forward line around Hogan. I for one hope they stuff him around and he sign a long term deal with Dees that see him full forward in a Dees premiership. I seriously hope this trade fall over to mention May in the same sentence is laughable.
  12. Absolutely spot on. Not to mention Kennedy and Darling! Defence is a major impediment. As Collingwood found out a lack of a key defender can cost you a flag!
