Nathan Jones in 2021?
It is really sad to see Jones. He is busting a gut because he knows he in the last shot saloon for finals redemption. He deserves better. Has been a great and loyal club man who deserved a better team around him. But life is not fair. As a footballer Jones was above good but the word great is used to loosely. Great put you in the company of a Flower who is the greatest player I have ever seen in a Dees jumper

Damien Hardwick doesn’t mind the caper. Goody speak words that don’t mean anything. Coaching is about leadership and getting the best out of people. Can someone tell me what coaching has gone into Max Gawn kicking since he cost us the game against Geelong three years ago. Nothing the answer. Why is the question I would ask. Gawn look like he just want the season finished.

The positive out of today game is it give a significant reality check on where we sit. The Dees still have the nucleus of a good side but three thing hold us back; 1. The bottom end of our list is woeful and simply not AFL standard. Why people are shocked perplexes me. There are simply to many poor players; 2. We traded the farm because we thought we were close to a flag it was an illusion. Sorry but Lever is a mid range footballer that we are paying huge overs for; 3. Goodwin has overseen the team rebuild since Roos he has to be held accountable for this. THe Dees need to keep building around draft pick and simply offload players who are just not AFL standrad how do they get on our list it just keeps happening. Build a forward line around Jackson; Weideman; Pickett but go all out in the draft for the best key defender we can find. I can hack losing if I see a future but cant abide watching some of the absolute talent less footballers that run around for us. Irrespective of win like the saints until we start to cull the list of those dud players where history. Unless we bite the bullet now we are heading for years more pain. Team like Sydney; Freo; Suns are going to rocket past us. With all the top draft pick we have had our current situation is a complete indictment on those who make decisions.

The Saints had a pretty tough game last week whereas we played bruise free football against Dogs. With a week rest there is simply no excuse to drop this one. However the fact are a quarter of our team has been turned over plus other than a depleted Pies outfit we have beaten no one above us. Lose this and another season wasted win it and redemption is possible. I think where a 40/60 proposition. A loss confirm we are a 10/14 team a win put us in the 5-8 bracket. Big game for club and Goody. This site will meltdown if we lose.

NON MFC: Round 13
Meth coke are a class above. The only good thing about our predicament we don’t have to play them as they would slaughter us. Who need another 2018 prelim final. Evidently there is equalisation in the AFL. Can someone rationally explain how they got Kelly arguably the best player in the AFL last year. Salary cap my a**e

You don’t need to know ground dimensions to do basic thing like man up. This game was lost in the third quarter when Goodwin (who has close to the worst winning % in the league) showed no game sense and failed to lock down the Dogs kicking with the wind. This was blindingly obvious and if we had stemmed them to say four goals we may have been a chance. This added to poor defensive kicking (exhibit A Hibberd) leading to the pocket (exhibit b Fritsch) lairising (exhibit c Petracca handballing over his head) and zero skills (exhibit D Viney) led to defeat. The only positive for mine was May leading the defence as zero midfield pressure should have seen this result blow out. Unless there are drastic step taken at year end we are on the highway to hell something we have all been used to for 50 years.

Sitting at the ground today the least problem we had was May and Lever. By far was the complete lack of accountability to stop the Dogs running from defence. There were loose players everywhere plus their disposal skills put ours to shame. Add the way we butcher the ball the score flattered us. After seven years of rebuild we are such an average football club and the management and coaching group need to own that. Hate to be the voice of doom but I can’t see us being any better in the short term
