I find it puzzling the media piles onto Melbourne so much. I mean, I get it - papers to sell, clicks to collect. Maybe it’s just a reflection of actual issues in the club. But I also wonder - why aren’t Collingwood under scrutiny for missing the finals? Why isn’t alleged wantaway Josh Daicos part of the cycle. It’s just weird.

Did anyone mention the person ringing in to Tim and Garry (gee Garry made Tim look like a dill) and say that Petracca wants Roffey and Goodwin gone. Said he is very close to Petracca. Interesting. Was thinking about brand Petracca - he may need to consider a brand manager because apart from letting himself get speccied on in a Colgate ad (-#cringe) he is absolutely killing his brand here - if some of the stuff being reported is true. Perhaps sponsors won’t care, perhaps they will. The Ralph Lauren stuff is a bit cringe too - photo in his hotel room with a mirror behind him…even my cycling product reviews are a bit morw pro than that!

I’m so glad my long held admiration for Clayton has not been torn asunder! And that I can retain the #13 across my guernseys. My 9yo is a little confused about the Petracca situation as we talked about it - “why does he want to leave? He’s my favourite! What number will I put on my top now Alex Neale Bullen is leaving too?” I said number 13, 7, 11 or 6! Or 1. Decisions!! His grandmother did have Jake Lever at Romsey kinder though so there is that 😂😂

Love your posts I wish we could be clear eyed as you Speaking to a work colleague today reflecting on the year and he remarked how he laughed when at the start of the year I said we’d miss finals. I remember a discussion a while ago about how nice our players are. And you said at the time there’s one who’s quite rude to support staff, volunteers etc. I always suspected it was number 13 but now I wonder anew if it might be someone who is at present the subject of wild speculation. ps can we please all be kind to one another? I’m far more concerned with data scraping by data brokers and whatever Facebook is doing (even though I have a grey account), and with what vision companies are doing (particularly with images people take where me /my family are in them and they are posted to their socials without consent )

That line of argument would support a surveillance state proponent. It’s the principle and about informed consent. Just because someone has your email from a data leak or by scraping sites doesn’t invalidate the desire to control its release by entities with whom you have a relationship.
