POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
We are not good enough to win it, it’s that simple Same as last year poor composure, poor kicking we are the Greg Norman of the AFL last year was our 96 Masters This year pick any one of his other throw aways there is zero accountability for the umpriring which only compounds the disaster - will Pert or anyone say anything? Doubtful, just like the Maynard incident - crickets

GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Carlton
I don’t understand why more club execs don’t question this in public For a multi billion dolllar enterprise it’s absolutely unacceptable heads must roll if nothing else pert just question the treatment of max Bigger than umpiring though. Post the Maynard attempted murder pert should have beelined for media hip and shouldered daixos away and said “THAT. WAS. NOT. A. FOOTBALL. ACTION. We expected 8 weeks.”

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong
I am 45, 5’7”, 62kg, reasonably fit. I started training this year for the GC marathon (July) targeting 3’30, after doing 1200km last year as base on top of cycling. About 4weeks in at around 40km load a week mostly 4’15- 4’40 and hitting half marathon long run , left side plantar fasciitis (change in shoe probably) - very hilly road running (think 200m+ elevation gains ). how these blokes manage the loads and speeds - in footy boots - is quite amazing, lingers in particular .

Who do you remember/ honour?
Great great Uncle in the first few days at Gallipoli Paternal grandfather who flew Spitfires over northern Oz. Not bad for a boy from Tallangatta Maternal grandfather who was an AIF mechanic in Moresby and Solomons. He’d be rolling in his grave what’s happening there now. Some bloody funny stories of zero raids on their camps. Ended up with a captured Japanese prisoner (called George) as his assistant . Stayed pen pals for years They don’t make many like that any more
