  1. i think it's recorded way earlier in the week hence why last year they had to delay an ep when they broke josh wagner getting picked but had to wait for team announcement
  2. maybe true but its inevitable he starts the season in
  3. based on? half as good as a 5 game player? sheesh
  4. Pickett and Brayshaw are comfortably best 22, theres no way to spin that. why would you not want our best players playing if they're available that's enough to win our club goalkicking in the last two seasons, seems pretty unfair
  5. he wanted to cross the border? and we offered him more than others to convince him to join us ahead of a queue of suitors
  6. that screams i played most-every game and therefore accumulated votes on merit without actually doing anything of note from friday's side to round 1 i suspect it will be OUT: Baker, Jetta, ANB IN: Brayshaw, Hibberd, Pickett and jones for viney the following week or maybe an underwhelming chandler? which would be disappointing imo
  7. whilst the nab league has gone to 19yo's im not sure if it affects the academies and nga tied-ness of "mature" players? happy to be corrected if anyone has an official source saying otherwise but thats my understanding. is it just is raised to allow exposure to players who didnt get any
  8. this couldn't be more obvious right now than at NM, will phillips everyone expected to walk in and deliver in their midfield instead Powell, Lozarro and Ford were picked ahead and spicer is equally in the mix as new draftees
  9. maybe not a cut but definitely front loaded i'd imagine given the OOC players in the future they'd be absorbing more now while clarry/trac/salo and the younger boys are on smaller deals
  10. lockhart took 12 days ?‍♂️
  11. was it not this time last year where we were screaming out for anyone under 180cm to do something in the forward half? and now you're complaining that we've looked at too many? a non t.mcdonald need. whether we intended to use him on a wing but the lack of KF means he's there now so we need someone for the near side with tomlinson going back is the case? or as a backup to lever as an interceptor without hore? who knows but i think it's a good sized addition to the list
  12. false, the SSP thread said 6 (not sure how accurate) but richmond had 5 when mansell, egg, josh green and gallucci and the other lad whose name escapes me were all training
  13. vanders is a btec viney and we missed he/brayshaw more than vanders as inside mids as they offer more with ball in hand whilst also having his attack on the ball, particularly JV tim lamb was adamant we would take a pick to the MSD given covid affected season in vic and the tendency for top players to come from obscurity in their 18th year. David Noble was also on and he said north didn't even bother with trainon players and will take their spot to the MSD where theyd get you'd imagine 1st/2nd crack
  14. club would be pleased* to some extent that they haven't had to pay out on some of the bonuses he would have had in initial deal around BnF/AA but at the same time probably would have liked him to have hit them coz that means it was a good signing.
  15. when zac langdon now of WCE formerly of GWS was first drafted he was Zac Giles-Langdon and Kozzy pickett is actually kropinyeri-pickett its interesting how some players drop half the name and others don't, doesnt really make sense why you would right?
  16. Pert was on SEN today and said we had 5k membership spike since beating richmond last week alone. thats pretty handy if ANB was a midfielder he would have been off an afl list before we'd even heard his name. the club acknowledged that tried to adapt him to another role, now we have more exciting options there and he is back in the wilderness. hunt similarly, club recognised his disposal wasnt good enough off HB at a time where we struggled to go i50 effectively and trialled him forward where he had some ok performances but was largely a passenger but new rules and stronger options forward of centre have reverted him back to HB and imo he was lucky it was a two year extension and not only 1
  17. hopefully they flattened out his salary to help load up on clarry and salo
  18. he's 25 and been on a list for what 4/5 years now? doesn't get more mature than that, i think it's time we move on i agree re jones but i'm having a harder and harder time believing any baker hype, last year i was keen to see him in sooner as we seemed to have too many undroppables and similar types each week (mostly melksham and vanders) but i don't think his disposal is afl standard and he doesn't accumulate enough of the footy or use his speed to its full potential, maybe he's more suited to HF where he seems to be able to find the goals but i don't think he's the long term or short term solution for that matter we're gonna trade our future pick every year for ever and ever, the draft has as it seems an infinite life time so every season you can bring a future pick forward so we did the right thing using two first rounders on jacko and kozzy when we did
  19. im yet to hear a reasonable explanation for how this would be beneficial instead of training full time with us? he was very clear that we would carry a spot over and that hore hadn't been moved to the LTI inactives list but given the timing of the injury (x2 now) there is such a slim chance of the player(s) who are both considered outside best 22 making it back before finals and then less chance of actually being picked. the club should be filling at least two spots now and carrying two over. with news the eagles are passing on all 3 of their train-ons due mostly to not having a spot available i would be having a conversation with cedric cox who i believe has done some decent work at HB/wing as well as HF
  20. alex johnson of sydney and dan menzel both did to some extent
  21. the commentators kept screaming about the Egg being a level above in that second game and given richmond have one spot available and currently 4 train-on players as well as having already signed a running HB in mansell surely we ask him the question given we now have 4 spots to fill and we've lost another dashing HB/wingman option?
  22. that was the worst notification i've ever received on twitter, can't imagine how he's feeling
  23. there is no way the club goes into this season with 3 unfilled spots. how is he going to progress more training at casey when he could train daily in an afl club? surely that is the best place to nurture him and if he doesn't show enough then he sees the door come end of 21
  24. they've ruined any chance they had in creating a good footballer out of him by swapping his ends every preseason and then not even playing him where he trained come season proper. poor player management really i think everyone is overstating the match fitness importance of players. they've just done a full preseason and guys like brayshaw are in full training already i expect he and pickett will be in from the start. haven't heard much on where viney is at but if he's training he's playing same with melky form allowing
  25. this competition no longer runs, its back to VAFA/other local level leagues for the non-playing vfl players. or in farmers case he'd probably get a run as an overager in the tac cup competition
