AFL Trade Period
would prefer Jimpey i think we've got the height down there already

Bunch of Dees re-sign
Hore will be so so stiff is such a good reserve for lever and we've previously always shown support for injured players nietschke, vanders in particular recently, hope we give him another season
-
Bunch of Dees re-sign
if we nominate them both and they go undrafted after the national draft AMW can be directly added as a Cat B as he's an NGA but taj would take up a cat A rookie spot and i really hope we take him, has more upside than a lot of these guys we've re-signed, really not sure what we were thinking with Baker and Bedford and i hope we didn't up Chandlers offer to 2yrs to ward off Adelaide's interest coz he hasn't impressed me at afl level and doesn't tear games apart as a mid/hf or as a goalkicker in the vfl so i think we could have afforded to lose him. you can sign a mult year deal as a rookie as ethan hughes did at freo a few years ago and i think a lot of the tiges boys did too over the last 5 years. but it can only max at 3 years coz that's the maximum time you previously could be rookied now obviously its 4 briefly.

2021 List and Contract Details
do we have to/have we confirmed JJ is definitely being upgraded? as he was delisted last season he has only spent 1 out of a now 4 possible seasons as a rookie so we may have kept him down there and only upgraded chandler who with a 2yr deal must be upgraded as it takes him into a 5th season with us? -still not sure he's worth a 2yr deal and wouldn'tve been disappointed if he'd taken the crows offer but does that mean we can still keep hore and then take pick 17, 37 consume some for Woewodin and then upgrade chandler at the end? with AMW to come as a rookie (cat B)? have i mathed that right?

AFL Trade Period
also tristan Xerri has requested a trade form NM to StKilda, he's a 201cm ruckman who wasn't getting picked ahead of tom campbell for the most part of the season and then was passed by comben and now CCJ is on his way, with alabakis and mckernan getting the flick ryder 34yo and paul hunter not impressing it's a smart move for player and club (SKS) only 22yo he should crack on from here (also the first and only player with a surname 'X' to play a senior afl game ever)
-
Kade Chandler
if i'm him it's a no brainer to make the move, a senior contract, longer than 1 year garaunteed and you're 21 growing with a young group in a position they're lacking quality in. if he wanted to make a career out of this afl thing he has to go. it's no real loss for us either he wasn't really a natural goalkicker, never kicked bags in the 2s and never kicked a goal at afl level either, also wasn't really capable of high possession games at casey playing through the middle or has the high half forward the same way ANB was when he was younger, him moving is a good chance for us to continue to refresh the fringes of our list and let JT find some late gems (or maybe come january we can convince jarrod cameron or irving mosquito to un-retire)

Gary Bukenara on Demon’s 2021 List
Ben Brown goes up - he's a top 10 player at any club as he's a key forward imo Brayshaw, Langdon down - not elite but still good players (definitely fit his 10-18 criteria at every club) Hibberd, Weideman, Melksham down - are they even in our 10-18?? Tomlinson up - did he only put him there because he's injured? doesn't change his ability Bedford down for mine - has had more chances than the others and not broken through
-
Fool's gold
what was the criteria for that list, as it's missing a heap of players who moved during that time period particularly all the suns and giants boys
-
Those who should never be forgotten...
michael hibberds brother passed away not even 12 months ago, imagine the emotion of hibbo when the final siren sounded, he'dve been thinking of how proud his brother would've been for sure

Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
this is a very outdated 2012-15 type opinion. we need to be arrogant and maintain high standards, we're the best side in the comp, but if someone is not on form regardless of their age, how they joined the club, their wage/contract etc we have to be prepared to drop them, its good for a players career to go back and be the number 1 mid in the 2s instead of always playing spurts through there if theyre low on confidence or not performing, and i have absolutely no issue with those boys playing less simply if dunstan is playing better and contributing because he's out there to help the team win just like the other 21 blokes

but they could get worst, settle on one flag, content with their place in the side, not feeling any pressure from underneath and suddenly you're butler/higgins and out of the side and on the trade table or caddy rotting in the 2s or dan rioli and at HB, thats why we need melky around and others to hold the senior players accountable

Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
absolutely spot on here, for so many years (about 12 really) this club has been about building, youth, development yada yada and finally we have a solid 22 who are all going to play together for the next 3-4 years at least with no glaring issues, we don't gift games anymore, if a draftee is good enough they'll be given a chance and they would have earned it, but as jimmy jordon and in a sense fritsch have proven there is nothing wrong with a player playing 3yrs of consistent vfl footy and familiarising themselves with mens footy and the dees game style to give themselves the best chance of succeeding when they do step up, similarly to signing majak and mbrown they're an insurance policy and they're hardened bodies to keep the pressure on at training and provide the senior 22 with healthy competition so they don't get complacent. Dunstan is that too and if he proves his worth in the 2s then i have no issue with him displacing sparrow, jj, harmes brayshaw whoever because he would've earned it and then its up to them to earn it back and not get complacent with a spot in the side

AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
they approved rhys palmer for pick 107 going a couple of years back so i think they'd be ok with this too
-
Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
agree with most people, if he remains unsigned after the trade period and goes through the draft definitely invite him on board in january to take up the last spot on the list for a packet of chips contract purely for depth, can't see the suns picking him up given how full they are

Delisted Free Agents
naish interests me only if we move on baker as he seems to be able to find the ball more regularly during a match and baker hasn't established himself in 5 years so i think it's time to give someone else a go, i also would have a conversation with james cousins, if no one else will talk to him he could be worth a rookie spot, a solid and younger inside mid to play at casey and if everything goes to sh**t in the seniors hes a mature body to step in + i think he could thrive in a successful side definitely knows how to find the footy even if he has his limitations
-
AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSÂ
how does naish compare to baker statistically at afl and vfl level?

melk for AMT i can see that ;)

List prediction 2022
chandler doesn't have to be upgraded, new afl rule for this season due to lack of second tier comp and ability to develop players can spend a 4th season as a rookie
