  1. i think we might have a look at a cal sinclair or sam naismith type from the swans both OOC and Naismith a UFA next season to fill that role for a few seasons given Daw's age and presumed frailty long term. Also could stanley or save be available once ceglar joins on
  2. nick austin seemed pretty confident when he said they were not going to be picking any higher than they currently are and that their future 1&2 r off the market, plus they don't have SOS playing as many draft games as we're used to
  3. also on foxtel in the replays section
  4. a bit off topic but this sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole 2022 prospective demons milestones to look forward to: 50 games: Jordon (25 needed), Sparrow (22), Petty (20), Jackson (20), Rivers (16), Pickett (11), Weideman (1) 50 MFC games: Langdon (9), May (2) 100 games: MBrown (24), Fritsch (15), Hunt (6) 100 MFC games: Melksham (17), Hibberd (11) 150 games: Petracca (23), Salem (20), BBrown (7) 200 games: McDonald (7), Melksham (3)
  5. i think taj is one who will thrive more at afl level, he's a good kick and makes good decisions but at this level a lot of simple kicks and handballs are being missed which disrupts the ball movement and forces it into a contested game, appears to hold his width really well tho and on the mcg could be a real weapon
  6. throw in vandenBerg or van den berg or Van den berg or whatever the correct way it's officially meant to read is
  7. who's the blemish?
  8. we do now with the resignings but i'm taking Hill > Chandler and Bedford any day, has shown he's capable the dury well and truly out on our two lads, can see chandler's career following along similarly to bakers is, always just there in case but Hill i can see actually improving our 22 think he's shown enough already to suggest he's more than that. Bobby Hill wouldn't be on more than 300 a season i wouldn'tve thought Bedford + Chandler off the books Bobby in and there's your contract right there
  9. wouldn't be surprised to see other clubs try and do this now, which is a shame coz itll make it harder for us but luckily there will always be F/S and NGA players i guess to force clubs out of the first round, just gotta make sure we're front of the queue with the best offer to improve our hand
  10. didn't like the deal before it was signed, thought adelaide was the right move for him to play -doesn't seem at our level. hate it now that bobby hill is on the market
  11. i can't be the only one who is quite peeved that we've re-signed Chandler who had offers on likely a heavier contract that we initialy would've put to him pre Crom interest and Bedford only to hear Bobby who has bucketloads more upside and also proven afl form/ability is on the market for you'd expect about a 3rd round pick and a similar contract. who ever lands him is getting a bargain, it's a shame it wont be us
  12. surely by now gold coast have moved past recruiting hacks and trash from around the comp and are ready to start recruiting players who genuinely improve the 22 they put out each week instead
  13. be interesting to see what the lions do in the next few days and in the month between now and the draft. currently rolling with picks 14, 18, 50, 54, 60, 76, 90 but only have 2 OOC senior listed players and two retirees off the rookie list, so presuably theyll delist those two boys and re-rookie them and then try and trade up to a 3rd first rounder? or shuffle a bunch of stuff back a year -almost feels like everyone wants out of this draft after the first round/is happy with all the 1-4 year players they've been developing under their eyes instead of gambling at the draft
  14. clubs are finding it tough enough as it is to pay whats already on their lists with many clubs taking across the board pay cuts and pushing money around to other years making it near on impossible to go shopping for big money signings like we're used to seeing, cheers covid
  15. afl exchange podcast on apple podcasts has it. first segment of todays ep
  16. would prefer Jimpey i think we've got the height down there already
  17. Hore will be so so stiff is such a good reserve for lever and we've previously always shown support for injured players nietschke, vanders in particular recently, hope we give him another season
  18. if we nominate them both and they go undrafted after the national draft AMW can be directly added as a Cat B as he's an NGA but taj would take up a cat A rookie spot and i really hope we take him, has more upside than a lot of these guys we've re-signed, really not sure what we were thinking with Baker and Bedford and i hope we didn't up Chandlers offer to 2yrs to ward off Adelaide's interest coz he hasn't impressed me at afl level and doesn't tear games apart as a mid/hf or as a goalkicker in the vfl so i think we could have afforded to lose him. you can sign a mult year deal as a rookie as ethan hughes did at freo a few years ago and i think a lot of the tiges boys did too over the last 5 years. but it can only max at 3 years coz that's the maximum time you previously could be rookied now obviously its 4 briefly.
  19. he could be a 'B' rookie if he goes undrafted and join straight onto the list potentially or we could invite him to train a la Deak smith
  20. do we have to/have we confirmed JJ is definitely being upgraded? as he was delisted last season he has only spent 1 out of a now 4 possible seasons as a rookie so we may have kept him down there and only upgraded chandler who with a 2yr deal must be upgraded as it takes him into a 5th season with us? -still not sure he's worth a 2yr deal and wouldn'tve been disappointed if he'd taken the crows offer but does that mean we can still keep hore and then take pick 17, 37 consume some for Woewodin and then upgrade chandler at the end? with AMW to come as a rookie (cat B)? have i mathed that right?
  21. also tristan Xerri has requested a trade form NM to StKilda, he's a 201cm ruckman who wasn't getting picked ahead of tom campbell for the most part of the season and then was passed by comben and now CCJ is on his way, with alabakis and mckernan getting the flick ryder 34yo and paul hunter not impressing it's a smart move for player and club (SKS) only 22yo he should crack on from here (also the first and only player with a surname 'X' to play a senior afl game ever)
  22. if i'm him it's a no brainer to make the move, a senior contract, longer than 1 year garaunteed and you're 21 growing with a young group in a position they're lacking quality in. if he wanted to make a career out of this afl thing he has to go. it's no real loss for us either he wasn't really a natural goalkicker, never kicked bags in the 2s and never kicked a goal at afl level either, also wasn't really capable of high possession games at casey playing through the middle or has the high half forward the same way ANB was when he was younger, him moving is a good chance for us to continue to refresh the fringes of our list and let JT find some late gems (or maybe come january we can convince jarrod cameron or irving mosquito to un-retire)
  23. Ben Brown goes up - he's a top 10 player at any club as he's a key forward imo Brayshaw, Langdon down - not elite but still good players (definitely fit his 10-18 criteria at every club) Hibberd, Weideman, Melksham down - are they even in our 10-18?? Tomlinson up - did he only put him there because he's injured? doesn't change his ability Bedford down for mine - has had more chances than the others and not broken through
  24. what was the criteria for that list, as it's missing a heap of players who moved during that time period particularly all the suns and giants boys
  25. michael hibberds brother passed away not even 12 months ago, imagine the emotion of hibbo when the final siren sounded, he'dve been thinking of how proud his brother would've been for sure
