The Dees Incredibly Frustrating to Watch
Neil Crompton replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think that's a lot of unfair baggage to be dumping on JVR, Binny. For goodness sake, Melksham missing may have cost us the game. Petty missing may have cost us the game. Brayshaw missing probably cost us the game. BBB missing may have cost us the game. Poor kicking at goal certainly cost us the game. Despite your comment to the contrary, you have "hanged the young fella out to dry" unfairly in my opinion. -

Can there even be a half-time in a 7-quarter game? -

There is a rumour going round that WCW will be the half-time entertainment on Sunday. -

Comon WCW. Give us a tune! -
Given the injuries, I'd propose the following for Round 0: McVee May Tomlinson Rivers Lever Hore Langdon Petracca Windsor ANB JVR Billings Fritsch Schache Spargo Gawn Brayshaw Viney Salem Bowey Sparrow Turner Sub: Howes / Chandler

What are insinuating WCW? And if you know something why haven’t you mentioned this before for goodness sake? My god girl, it’s only been 5 months since the event!

I heard he also had a tooth ache. -
I'm afraid that 2021 was the year OD was in world record pessimistic form. I think the GF win has mellowed him a fair bit, thankfully. Cheers OD!

With all these injuries to our forwards, just as well we have Joel Smith. Oh, wait a minute…

And you cannot afford too many more hits to the head WCW 😁

Sorry but Alves was a favourite of mine - and a Club great. Why would you feel the need to make such a comment?

Well if Dusty is allowed to do it in general play, why shouldn’t Max be allowed to do it at ruck contests? He has been unfairly discriminated against up until now.

If you are saying that the chances of winning a premiership this year are lessoned by having him in the side, then can I suggest we seriously consider dropping him for the grand final. Simples.

Sam Van Rooyen in for Ben Brown on LTI?
Neil Crompton replied to Wizard of Koz's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’d say no, but I do think we would be monitoring Sam’s younger brother who could be the best of all 3 of them. -
Karma met with Maynard today. It was only a preliminary meeting prior to the KB weekend where major karma will be inflicted.

He’s done a lot of goal kicking from an arc (ark). -
LG, I wouldn't cheerfully do it for free. But I'd charge less than he would.

Dee, with Tomlinson, TMac and Turner all competing for the role of 3rd tall, I wouldn't have considered Hore as a 3rd tall option at all. He's a flanker IMV and is the same height (191cm) and weight (approx, within 4-5kg) as Howes. So i considered both would be competing for the same role - hence the question. Personally, I would prefer Hore, but wouldn't mind seeing Howes take on a wing role. -

Who is more likely to get first go down back - Hore or Howes - based on training to date? -
PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 19th January 2024
Neil Crompton replied to george_on_the_outer's topic in Melbourne Demons
The thing I really respect and admire about ANB has been his determination to continually work on and improve his basic football skills. He has always been a great athlete, but his ball handling skills, until this past year in particular, have been, imo, well below the standard required to maintain a permanent position within the team. In his early years he rarely had clean control over the ball - he seemed to almost always fumble. Hence, he became a whipping boy on here. But those days are hopefully fully behind him as he has worked his butt off to improve these skills, as the last half of last year showed. He is not a natural footballer like a McVee, so he has had to work harder than most to reach his current standard. He was never a favourite of mine, but because of the skills improvement he has achieved, ANB is now a Dee's player I admire more than most.- 98 replies
