  1. Great read - well done
  2. We had only lost our first 3 games by April 3 (although 2 bad losses). Seems early for Smith looking for replacements?
  3. I think that was back when we had a coach, a CEO and a President.
  4. After Gawn’s comment on MMM, Campbell in and Gawn on Darcy!
  5. Just two things I want to say: thank you for your outstanding dedication to this Club, and particularly the players. The fact that you are so well loved within the playing group means you are entitled to feel extremely proud of your efforts and the legacy you will leave. We are a much better club for having you onboard. Secondly, time you signed up to Demonland and gave us the inside goss on all things MFC. Best wishes for whatever you do next.
  6. Goodwin was all class under trying circumstances. Good luck.
  7. 1pm announcement apparently
  8. I'm going to wait for the official Board announcement before i make judgements about the call and its timing etc . At this stage we don't know what has transpired internally - only the outcome (and I'm sure Morris could only care about the outcome).
  9. so the f what? - As long as they were appointed because of their ability, what should it matter? Do we choose players from the draft that only barrack for the Dee's? You only seem to appear when you want to stick it to the Board. And even that's ok if you have a valid complaint - but you don't this time, so this only makes you look petty.
  10. I’ll admit I haven’t been Clarry’s greatest fan for the best part of 2 seasons. Yet a couple of weeks ago I noted on here that I thought I saw small signs of the old Clarry starting to reappear - only to be disappointed in him last week. But this week he started to look like the Clarry of old, his confidence, which has been sorely missing, just seemed to grow as the game progressed. I know the competition was poor, but if those signs continue over the last 3 rounds, he may well get back to his best next season. Fingers crossed. I don’t think I’d be trading him.
  11. TRAB, it helps when you have 100,000 members to get good attendance figures. I noticed WC pointed this fact out on their banner yesterday - I guess you cannot blame them for boasting about something.
  12. Unless I've missed it, it appears as though someone isn't pumped today.
  13. Petracca - a very selfish player who has too high an opinion of himself - an opinion that is totally unjustified this year.
  14. I’d like to see Lever start obtaining his coaching credentials as I think he’d make a great coach - hopefully our backline coach one day. I very much doubt the 666 penalty would have occurred if he was playing.
  15. If Clarry and/or Trac request a trade at the end of the season, we get screwed if we let them go. My answer would be that if they want to go then we will oblige them only if they tear up their existing contract with us. This is the only way we will get fair compensation for these players. This should be mandatory for all players requesting trades while under contract.
  16. Did Maynard have clenched fists when he slaughtered Gus? Bet the flucc he did.
  17. Go on, take it. You know you really want to.
  18. Just out of interest, are there any other DL’s that played for the old Springvale club?
  19. I got the impression last night that Oliver is making some headway in changing his old habits - he seemed to look for a target - by hand or foot - at every opportunity that I can recall, instead of banging it long every time. This is so pleasing to see, and bodes well for both his and our football future. Can’t say the same about Trac unfortunately.
  20. Excellent post. Losing to bottom 8 sides this year, while performing better against top 8 sides is both staggering and totally unacceptable. That to me is a coaching issue, not solely a player issue. We have poor skills, but the players look like they don’t know what they are doing, where they should be or where they should be leading to - they look confused, and as a result, they are not confident in their delivery. I’d go as far as to say that their skills would improve no end if they were confident in what they were doing. That to me is a coaching issue. 9 or 10 years is a long time in a coaching role - especially when performance is on a steep decline. Yesterdays performance was the final nail in the coffin for me. The players are lost - time for a new voice.
  21. Haha, you mean like WCW?
  22. Without knowing the selection criteria each week - which none of us do - you cannot claim their isn’t any selection integrity. I’m sure there are many good reasons why one player is or isn’t selected - and certainly no ridiculous reasons like “playing favourites”. Nothing can, or needs to be “looked at”.
  23. OD, I’m prepared to put out here that Luker Kentfield will start to display Hawkins-like potential after a full pre-season. That’s my prediction anyway. (My prediction during pre-season this year was that Disco Turner would become our most improved player this year - and I think I’m not far off nailing that one). I think Luker, JVR and Jeffo could well be sensational in our forward line in the next year or two. In other words, we don’t need an outsider - we already have what we need.
  24. This thread needs a change of pace - and by pace, I mean pace, and changes. Scotty Boland gets another shot and he nails it - match figures of 6 for 36 including a hat trick. What an absolute champion he is. And like TMac, should never be drooped again.
