Seaton, TC. Been pushing for him all year, and just when in serious contention he got injured.

I’ve never backed favourites, and I have a solid dislike for most things Collingwood - but they are not good enough reasons to not select Buckley. However, I’m leaning towards James Kelly as our next coach. His record impresses me. Three time premiership player - so a winner. 300 odd games played - so had longevity. Been part of the successful Cats coaching team - including a premiership in ‘22. A renowned people person, and last but definitely not least, a Jim Stynes medal winner. Buckley cannot match any of these traits/ achievements - so I’m backing Kelly for our role.

I would of thought that the only link Bevo would ever have with the MFC was his hatred of Tom Morris.

My thinking was twofold PSD. Firstly, I saw Jackson as Max’s ultimate replacement - he actually is better as the primary ruckman. Secondly, if we had the opportunity to get Jackson, surely we’d need all our draft picks to get it done. Hence my comment.

If he can get on the park and show some form, Shane McAdam may well take Jake’s place next season - similar mercurial player, same height, but 3 or 4 years younger and quicker and has a better leap.

I’m not angry at this loss - as so many on here are - (we were expected to lose comfortably) I’m just disappointed that we got so close and couldn’t put them away. It’s too easy to list all the things we did wrong - particularly our backline mistakes, our forward bombing and our woeful disposal - but with so much wrong, why / how did we get within 6 points? I’m going to give Chaplin much of the credit for us getting so close. We saw a free flowing game style (despite the skill errors) that we haven’t seen before - and one (minus the turnovers) that could well take us to the finals next season. It’s a shame Troy isn’t applying for the coaching role. So, disappointed yes, but so excited for next year.

so impressed with the level of skill improvement with the women's game since the earlier days. Congratulations to the coaches and the ladies themselves for working so hard to improve their skill levels. Perhaps the men could poach their skills coach for the preseason.
