  1. Give me a break. I’m invested about an hour a day, at no cost to the club. Those ā€œgenuinely investedā€ are full time employees being paid a considerable sum. They must be [censored] themselves they are going to lose their jobs. As they should be.
  2. A box office?
  3. What else has it got to cling too?
  4. I think as supporters, most of us would love to have heard Brad say something along the lines of: ā€œAs a Board we cannot accept the type of performances we are seeing out on the field this season. As such we have asked the football department to respond to 3 simple questions asap: What is the problem(s)causing the way we are currently performing? And what are the causes of these problems? How are you planning on fixing these issues? When will these issues be fixed?ā€ While I wouldn’t expect this is a public letter, I do expect that the Board would be asking these very same questions in private to Richardson and Goodwin. And if they haven’t then we have another issue. If the response seems reasonable I’d give the football department 4 weeks to see significant improvement, or else. If the response appears to just be waffle, then the ā€œor elseā€ happens now. Personally I feel there is something very wrong behind the scenes at the Club. Our players are, mostly,,too good to be performing the way they are. Whether it is coach related, or Oliver / Petracca related, or something else entirely, whatever it is, it needs to be identified and weeded out asap.
  5. He’s only 69 Old Dee. If he is healthy and fit, age shouldn’t be an issue at all. It’s his qualities and experience we are after.
  6. Like Ritchie, umpire 22 is dead to us as well, - unlike Ritchie, 22 unfortunately keeps haunting us.
  7. Are you speaking dirty to me Daisy? (This is an example where I have quoted your post and was able to post it on my iPad)
  8. I think it's actually a good bit of both GW. I have been an avid reader of DL, but for the first time I'm not as regular as i was and also find that in some posts I'm skipping pages to get to the last post - something i would never have done previously, for fear of missing some good comments. All we need are few good wins, and things will be swinging again. Just not sure when that will be.
  9. This thread is the Demonlands'equivalent of the old radio serial "Blue Hills"
  10. Reminds me of that old Robert Palmer song: "he's simply unselectable"...
  11. I predict that we are going to see signs that our lauded game plan - (and I have NFI what that is) - will start to gel with the players later in the game tonight. I think we will be well behind at half time but actually come good and storm home. One or two points in it either way at the conclusion. After the game, Demonland will be buzzing with talk of us making the finals. (probably went a bit far with this last prediction)
  12. As previously discussed, my ipad is older and I cannot post - that is, unless i quote another post and then i can! Found this by accident when i forgot i couldn't post. Happy, but can you explain this please Andy?
  13. I think @Dannyz comment that ā€œTracc doesn’t like his teammates and the players don’t like Clarryā€ led me to my comment. If true - and I have no reason to doubt @Dannyz - then it would seem that bridges have not been mended and we are a fractured team. And we are playing like it. There is no selflessness, there is no ā€œloveā€. Its going to take a better coach than Goody to fix that. We may be better off getting rid of both of them. It cannot go on as our good young players are going backwards - Rivers, Fritsch, Petty, JVR - which is criminal, given their obvious talents. I was thinking that Rivers might be our next captain, but you cannot nominate a captain whose playing in the 2’s. It’s time for big changes - do we have the gonads to make them?
  14. It could also be interpreted as ā€œI’m wasting my time in this f’ing team, get me out of hereā€
  15. Goodies coaching is giving players like Tracc and Kossie all the reinforcement they need to seek new homes next year.
  16. Hey @binman , serious questions, can you please explain to me just what our game plan is supposed to be. Because what I’m seeing is just a mass of confusion and contradictions. For example, the keeping’s off game down back is so slow that it allows the opposition time to flood back and block up any forward entry. There is no room for forwards to lead- hence we are always bombing to a pack. So that form of entry is self defeating surely. Whatever it is, do you believe our game plan is suited to and is appropriate for today’s game style? What we are doing looks different to all other teams I’ve watched this year. And it certainly doesn’t look like it is a winning game plan so far. Do you think it’s time for Goody to be honest and admit it’s not working and change our approach? Not easy, and there would be initial pain, but perhaps we’d see some light at the end of the tunnel There is certainly no light at present And the players look and are playing like they are none believers. I know we have injuries to key players, but that doesn’t account for the unacceptable skill levels we are seeing, or the complete lack of awareness being shown (or lack of on field communication) by players with the ball, or simply the confusion demonstrated by the players on how to play the game. They have had the whole preseason to get the game plan working Its now coming up to round 4, we are 0/3, and looking confused and utterly bereft of any shred of confidence. Do you feel that the players have lost confidence in the game plan and, by extension, Goody as well? What, IYO, is the best way forward? Thanks
  17. So the players at fault - not Goody?
  18. Use will be busy - listed as forward pocket and also as the 23rd man.
  19. That’s third world thinking Red (Good Luck tonight)
  20. Thanks D, I've never heard of that explanation. I've always wrongly assumed that first world meant advanced countries, third word meant the poorest nations, and i simply guessed that second world was the inbetweeners. You live and learn!
  21. Thanks Andy. As I said, I can post from my iphone and my laptop - just not my ipad. My ipad has been recently updated, but i noticed just the other day that its latest update version (iOS15.8.3) does not allow me to update the MFC app (needs iOS 16 as a minimum, and my ipad version does not support iOS16.). So that's more than likely the issue in this case as well. Getting old is a biatch.
  22. Thanks Andy. If it's a compatibility issue, then I can understand that. But as it is only certain functions not working, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue with the new version.
  23. Perhaps someone can help me out here. On another thread a poster used the familiar term "first world" - as in first world issue. Obviously, the term "third world" is used often and is familiar. But has anyone heard the term "second world" used or written anywhere? I cannot ever remember it being used - and while i can guess, what does "second world" actually mean?
  24. Hi Andy, I've discovered that I cannot post or quote posts with the new version on my ipad. Everything else seems to be ok. I can scroll and read posts but just cannot post or respond. It has the latest update for this version of ipad (although its a reasonably old ipad). It works fine on my phone and laptop. Are you able to tell me please what the minimum update requirement is to run this on ipad? Or could it be another issue? (obviously I'm sending this from my laptop) Thanks
  25. So now we’ve installed, and are telling the world we have a culture based on love. How about instead we stfu and instigate a culture of winning.
