  1. We’d be fine if we could hit a target. F’ing skills are atrocious.
  2. He’s very perceptive your son. I’d pegged you as deranged - but he’s got you as schizo, which explains a lot more.
  3. There is consistency in their inconsistency WCW
  4. Left field: Tommo in to the backline, and send May to FF, just for this game. Tommo at least has decent form in the VFL, and I love to see May crash a few packs up forward.
  5. Done good @WalkingCivilWar. You’re hired.
  6. Not sure it’s the “forward line blues”. It’s more the entry into the forward half that was pathetic tonight.
  7. We’ve got this!
  8. Daz, I think if you were being told you’ve done a [censored] job, you’d take that personally - particularly if you had prefaced your comments by saying it won’t be an insightful report. It’s no wonder posters doing training reports are a dying breed around here.
  9. Binny, my point on this is that 90%(?) of us on here dislike the majority of the football media “experts” - or think they are has-been “[censored]”. Why then should we care what an “[censored]” happens to say about our club or players? Maybe it’s all the unloved years we’ve faced in the past - as you say - that has made us insecure and in need of a little love and recognition. However you, above nearly everyone else on DL, have the knowledge and understanding that we are a very good team that is going to be a premiership contender this year. You know it, I know it, and most on here would luv to believe it - so why the need for further confirmation of this from someone you don’t respect? I love the “us” against “them” mentality. It binds us closer together in support of our great club. Not sure if this is how @Skuit feels, but it’s my personal view.
  10. For once D, I disagree with you. I acknowledge that there is a general discussion board, but how many people on DL visit it? Am I the only one who hasn’t? This is a very important issue and one that the AFL is supporting this round, so I think a stand-alone thread on this board is appropriate in this case. Just my thoughts though.
  11. @Demonland, given the post above, can there please be an explanation given to Kev as to why his post was deleted? I’m sure all of us would hate to lose him as a DL contributor, and it’s certainly not like him to get upset over nothing. I didn’t see the posts at the time, and I don’t need to know what they were about, but I believe @kev martin does deserve an explanation. Thanks. (Think of this as a good-guy defence).
  12. I’d do the opposite DD. I’d scatter the other talls and make Jeffo the main man. I think he is being crowded out by the others. Give him the main role for a few games to see if he can step up.
  13. Can’t be D. Look at Luci’s avatar- she is much better looking than Caroline Wilson!
  14. Is there a real difference WCW?
  15. Eddie is quoted as saying: "Non-Victorian presidents and some Victorian presidents, don't want to have 19 teams," McGuire said on Nine's Eddie and Jimmy podcast on Monday. "There's an easy solution for this. One will go.” Surely when all the club presidents voted on whether or not to admit Tasmania, the issue of 19 teams would have been raised, discussed and almost certainly a consensus solution reached as to how this would be resolved. There are only two solutions you’d think - get a 20th team or cut back to 18. And there would have had to have been consensus on the action before the vote was taken. For Eddie to come out now and say that out of nowhere a large number of presidents now do not want 19 teams is BS - or certainly not new. I’d suggest that the AFL and the current presidents know what action is likely to be taken. This is just Eddie trying to make himself relevant again. The dip-[censored] will never be relevant.
  16. Time to update the screenplay deevs. Instead of a GP, change that to a marquee footballer. Also, you’d have to have WCW in there as a big support character, (comic relief?). Suddenly you have something that is going to resonate with a bigger audience I would have thought.
  17. I’ve lost a day. I thought today was Sunday. I must get off the pizz.
  18. Yes you say this, yet you recommended a 179cm mid. What’s it to be?
  19. I’d like to see Marty Hore back in the side - probably in place of Woewodin, who I prefer on the wing rather than as a backman.
  20. Luv the new name!
  21. I really hope you and @Lucifers Hero are correct. I guess only time will tell.
  22. Clarrie appears to be in a much better place these days and for that I’m sure all of us couldn’t be happier. May that better place remain his for the rest of his life. But there are always trade-offs in life, and maybe one of those trade-offs (although minor in the bigger scheme of things) is that, given what @Monbon has described above, perhaps Clayton has lost some of the football motivation that he had in previous years - because he may now feel he no longer needs football to prove his worth as a person. The massive talent is still there when he wants to pull it out, but his form and on-field attitude since his hamstring injury last year have been very un-Clayton like. (This might be all BS, but I haven’t seen Clayton-the-best-player-of-our-generation-Oliver since that injury and this may well be an explanation). if Clarrie is happy and healthy I’m happy, even if it results in him having transformed from a “brilliant” player to an “average” player with occasional “brilliant” glimpses. But if he comes out next week and has an absolute blinder then I’d be even happier for him.
  23. Great thread @leave it to deever Thank you.
