It doesn't seem to worry them Bluey - which i guess is all that matters - and their results have been pretty good over a long period of time now, so it obviously works.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Carlton
Totally agree with you EH, and thank you for your astute comment. ANB’s positives certainly do outweigh his negatives, not just on the field, but also off it as well. My comment was a response to both hardtack and fr—ap, who were looking for explanations as to why ANB doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. I simply offered my explanation as to why he doesn’t, and, as you say, why he continually “attracts forensic comments about his skills”. The sign of a really good player is that they perform and excel while they are under pressure. He hasn’t reached that stage, yet. However, he is certainly in my best 22. (NC’s possession and final kick in ‘64 was certainly under accuse pressure given the situation and luckily he came through).

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Carlton
I’ve recently praised ANB for the way he has improved his skills and, as a result, the great season he had last year. When ANB is pressuring a player, he is great, however, when ANB is under pressure, too often he fumbles or gives a poor disposal and the forward flow is haltered or we turnover the ball as a result. This happens too often to just be an occasional occurrence, and as such, until he can consistently improve this area of his play he will continue to not receive the recognition he should by the demon faithful.

- Unity
There would be very, very few posters on here that are not passionate Dee’s supporters. Surely that’s unification. However all of us have different opinions at times, and certainly different ways of expressing ourselves, which is to be expected, and it is what I enjoy about this site. This does not reflect disunity. As long as the banter is respectful (which at times it isn’t) then go for it I say.- Mongrel Punt’s 2024 Season Preview
Nas, do you think he might be a "whipping boy" because all the others you mentioned - except Windsor - have proven themselves at AFL level, whereas Laurie, after 3 full seasons with the club - and a first round pick to boot - simply hasn't?- Petracca: "When the pressure mounted... we crumbled"
I tend to agree Chook, but just wish we had better skills to go with, and take proper advantage of that instinct.- POSTGAME: Match SIM vs Richmond

I don’t think the score line matters (except the “apprentice” would be within his rights to gloat a bit to the “Master”). What does matter if anyone here was able to pick out how we overcame the issues we had last year - which any good coach would be aiming to fix, surely. Forward entry / connection? - anyone notice any changes or improvements? Ball handling and kicking skills? - improvement? Center connection and clearances? - again, improvements? I didn’t see all of the match, but from what I did see, I couldn’t recognise any real improvements or system changes at all. So please convince me we did! Otherwise, given the way I saw the tigers play, I might wish that we had hung onto the “apprentice” - who, given time, might well become the “Master”. - 2024 Injury List
