  1. That’s not what you said, nor what you meant. I wouldn’t dig yourself in any deeper.
  2. I’ll be happy just to make the final 4 first Luci, give our form and our draw
  3. I’d like to see Gus move into the middle for this game if Oliver is out, in preference to Dunstan. (We don’t need another in the middle with poor foot skills when we already have Viney, Harmes and Trac for that). It’s the ground Gus was BOG playing a midfield role a few years ago; and as evidenced in the practice games this season, when Gus went into the middle, he and Gawny had a great connection at the centre bounces. We’d lose a key member of our backline, but it also would give Hunt and/or Rivers a chance at redemption. Our forward line is not functioning, despite what some posters might be saying, and therefore needs a shot in the arm ( not the Essendon type though). Laurie has earned a debut and should get a run. We need a second tall imo and that’s a choice between the tried and rarely true Weid and the untried van Rooyen. I’ve always been wishful when it comes to the Weid, but this time I’d like to see the van Roy boy get a debut.
  4. Haha I think you’ve just reverted back to Jaded again.
  5. Please tell me why that is. Here’s an idea - what if they spread out instead and offered a choice of 2 targets rather than one dirty big pack, where our mids and smalls never seem to prosper from the failed pack mark?
  6. Did anyone else hear the post game comment that Geelong are seriously chasing Gus? If the MFC cannot get Gus to re-sign then it will be the beginning of the end for the club, and I will start supporting Cats - there, I said it. Get it done Dees!!!
  7. I’m going to stick my neck out and say that I believe that all the hype around Jacko - the incredible potential, the generational player - is just noise that at this stage in his career is simply baseless. He may become a reasonable player - but no way will he be “generational”. He rarely holds a mark around the ground - and certainly not one grab - he doesn’t win many hit outs at stoppages, and stats wise, there has been only minor improvement from last year - not the progress you’d expect from a “generational” player. While I’d prefer him to stay - as I think he will continue to be a good back up to Gawny - but if he wants to go, I’d prefer it be now rather than in 2 years time, as I believe we’ll get more for him now than in 2 years time. In 2 years time, the hype will be considerably muted, as his improvement, I believe, will not warrant such hype any more. The old adage of buy low and sell high definitely applies to this. I don’t think his trading stocks will get any higher than this year. Good luck to the kid, no hard feelings if you want to go, but I’m now more looking forward to the talent we can obtain from the trade.
  8. Hey Binman, can you please explain to me again why we shouldn’t be concerned about our forward line?
  9. Of course there is. Anyone who says there isn’t is kidding themselves.
  10. The new Geelong theme song for when they play the Dees: We are Geelong, we’ve always got the flu We are Geelong; half the game spent on the loo, We play the game, the way Maxy wants us to play At home or far away, With our pants down below our knees, you don’t give a phark Down at Kardinia Park.
  11. Not sure about anyone else, but I think I’ll read another topic for a while - at least until this one gets interesting again.
  12. Yes. She’s originally from Perth and would like to go home one day.
  13. The clubs stats have him at 194 ht and someone mentioned he’d put on 5kg so that would make him about 93kg - a reasonable size for a mobile forward or back.
  14. In his brief appearance against the ‘woods, Daniel (or “Page” as I like to call him) looked at home at the afl level. My question is, if May, Lever and Petty remain fit for the next 2 years, what do we do with Turner? I doubt we’d play another tall down back, and he’s too good to play VFL for that period of time - and if we did there is a good chance he’d be getting itchy feet to get a go somewhere else. Could he be trialled in the forward line perhaps? He has a good set of hands and he reads the play very well. It would give him the AFL game experience he would not likely get if we consider him solely as a backman. He can move back to the backline as and when required. Any thoughts?
  15. Had a dream last night where Fritta was announced as the Coleman medalist. If that’s the case, then today is likely to be the first of some big bags of goals for him over the remaining games.
  16. We’ve had great ruckmen for the last, what 30 years?, and we have been pretty [censored] in all that time - only last year did we win the premiership. I’d suggest that ruckmen are simply show bag fillers, and we can still win this easily even without our 2 best big men - because we have strength all over the ground and a midfield that don’t need silver service to perform. Go Dees (please don’t tell Max and LJ I called them show bag fillers).
  17. Flower was absolute poetry in motion. There is little poetry about Oliver, he is pure hip hop. If I had to choose between the two for my team, it would be no hesitation - Oliver.
  18. There is a rumour about to be released that Gus will announce his Re-signing with the MFC on the Gus and Gawny podcast either this week, next week or the week after. l’ve got no further info on Jacko, other than to restate that OD has said he is definitely going - so put your money on Jacko to stay.
  19. Great news. He can probably afford those public speaking lessons now. He’s going to need them.
  20. You waited for 75 pages to finally tell us this? What’s wrong with you man? We’ve already sold him off.
