The Pick 1 Thread
I think we have two clubs (NM and WC) playing chicken at the moment to see who will give way first. I think we leave them alone and do our own thing and see what happens. Would the Hawks be willing to trade their pick 4 (and a guarantee we would not pick Watson) for pick 6 and our future first? We then have a nice hand at the draft - 4 and 11, which I'd be happy with - but it may also make WC be a bit more inclined to relinquish Pick 1 (certainly more so than our previous offer to them) if WC's main aim is to be more certain of getting Curtin and another good first round player. So, if we are lucky, it might net us Pick 1.

Dees win $1million McClelland Trophy
WCW, you were looking for ways to convince people to attend the AFLW. You suggested the begging approach. I offered that I thought the carrot and the stick approach would be more your style. Now obviously you cannot physically go beating DL's on the head with a stick, but you have been known to occasionally deliver a decent verbal beating on here when appropriate, and equally, a number of carrot offerings as well. Use what you do best - and that definitely aint begging.

Begging doesn’t become you WCW, and would certainly not be believable. I think you are more of a stick lady myself.

Dees win $1million McClelland Trophy
The average AFL player gets paid over $400K. The average AFLW player gets paid $46K. If we won the McLelland Trophy, the $500K player allocation, shared between our 75 men and women players would equate to $6.66K each. This equates to a 14% salary bonus for the ladies, and less than a 2% bonus for the men (hardly chump change for the majority). It would therefore be a very nice gesture from the men (except perhaps for the rookies etc) if they donated their share to the ladies. This would equate to about $16k bonus for each lady, which would be significant not only in value but also in terms of how the Club values the ladies and their performance this year.

The Pick 1 Thread
Although I’ve only seen highlights, they are pretty impressive, and Curtin looks ready made to me. I’d certainly grab him if available at 6. He already reminds me of Steven May.

Jack Ginnivan
Dee, I believe Ginnivan has no one to blame but himself. He made his bed now he has to lay in it. I do hope this is a wake up call for him as no one likes to see unfulfilled talent. I wish him good luck, but I still think he’s a little [censored].

Every Club's Trade Period Ranked
Could we have done any more with the “capital” we had? I don’t think so. So it’s been a very good draft for us. As such, comparing us with other clubs is such BS. I’m sure no one at the club is today comparing our performance with others - or even cares. Such click bait BS.

Harrison Petty
Only one way he can repair this. Sign a new contract extension. Otherwise I doubt the players will have a lot of faith in him and he may not get many leads honoured.

Harrison Petty
While I am totally against trading Harry, as I feel he will be a key player in our premiership attempt next year and the year after. As such I cannot follow the logic of wanting to trade him. I'm assuming we'd do it to try and get better currency to obtain Pick 1. However, I'm also assuming that WC would only trade Pick 1 if they were guaranteed of getting Curtin, and another high first round pick, and maybe more. Even if we traded Petty, I don't think our haul would satisfy WC - ie we still won't have a pick high enough to guarantee them getting Curtin. We would probably have to trade up to get Pick 2 or 3 or possibly 4 to be able to guarantee WC a pick that would get Curtin. Problem is, I don't think we'd have the picks left to offer WC, along with Pick 2 (3 or 4), that would entice them to trade with us. So, I cannot see the point in trading Harrison if we cannot guarantee getting Pick 1. But as I said, I am against selling Harry and I'm against selling our future first pick. Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Well, if WC don't want to play ball with us so that we can get Reid, then more than happy for us to pick Curtin at 6.
