It’s very interesting Stretch because Goody has always protected each and every player during his press conferences. This is the first time I can remember him doing something like this. He usually takes one for the team, but not this time.

I think Goody has been great for this Club, but he was seriously out- coached yesterday. The players may have got a bath but so did the coach. And it seems that the Dees are serial offenders at [censored] the bed when absolutely critical games are at stake (except in ‘21). What is embarrassing is that after our earlier defeat, Goody claimed that Freo had not seen the real Dees. Well I think they have, and Freo played like they knew they had. Our coaching staff and our senior players (except Langdon and May), particularly our on field leaders, really need to hang their heads after that performance. It was the “kids” that showed some ticker, and they were let down badly by our coach and our senior players. Let’s hope they truely learn something from this game, and actually act on it.

No way I’d trade Clarry, but ffs he has to be held accountable for his performances this year - particularly today. Doesn’t defend, doesn’t tackle, doesn’t chase, and is an appalling kick. He needs to be dropped - not because there might be someone better to replace him (although after yesterdays effort, Pup deserves his spot), but to give Clarry a wake up call.

Name a Freo player who kicked a goal and Lever was on him at the time!

Hang your heads dees. Never seen Lever play a worse game. His direct opponents have cost us at least 6 goals.

Clarry should really think this through - horizontal stripes would make him look chubbier.

Not sure i can agree with this Binny. If, as you say, Goody's aim is to have our team in our best condition for the finals, and if, as you say, without a decent preseason you are not going to get any fitter during the year, then, to me, it makes little sense not to have our best player in the best possible shape we can get him into come the finals. You state that his current level "may be above that of 80% of mids playing the game" - which is debatable - but for us to be a presence in the finals this year, we need Clarry as close to 100% as we can get him - at only 80% we are probably not going to be good enough, I fear. Hence my question about giving him a mini preseason during the year - possibly during the period he had the hand injury when his performances were (to put it ultra kindly) un-Clarry like. Certainly, based on his form at that time, we would not have missed him too much at all, and it would have meant that we could have blooded Rivers in the middle earlier than we had - which is likely to have been a big plus for us.

Which really begs the question why play him without doing a mini preseason at the start of the year? Why play someone you know is not fit enough and won’t get any fitter during the season? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I think his last line sums up this poster pretty well. Empathy has never been his strong suit. His analysis work is usually spot on, and engaging, but when he “plays the man”, he loses me every time.

Just my additional thoughts - your choice if you want to use it.

What if the NT Govt threw in, on top of the approx $800k, a charter flight from Melb to AS, and return, so we could transport a few hundred lucky MFC members (and cheer squad!) to and fro the game?

Why have we given 2 pages of air time to this f’er and his BS? We all hate him with a passion (he and that Pies POS are about equal in my eyes), yet we spend 2 pages doing exactly what he wanted us to do. FCS ignore it ( and by “it” I mean him).

When we make the finals- as I’m certain we will - we will have come into September with momentum and belief. As such, I can see us doing some serious damage, and a grand final appearance a likely scenario.
