How are all the panic merchants who assured us he was on the way out doing today?

We saved our absolute best for September last year. Why can't we do that again this year?

I fully expect us to start hitting our straps and getting back to our best footy starting very soon. We all but have our best 22 on the park now excluding Tmac. Hopefuly it starts on Saturday. I think its very likely we've gone through some sort of uplift in training loads at some point recently, and it will serve us well this September as it did last year.

I’m not sure you understand the difference between VFL and AFL.

Time for DL to accept the fact we won’t see JVR until next year. And rightfully so. The age of blooding promising young forwards in important games died with Jack Watts. JVR will not solve the issues we have up forward right now. The best we can hope for is that he keeps developing at his current trajectory. And next year he will play a big part in our campaign if he does.

Fight amongst yourself all you like, there’s no way our club touches him with a ten foot pole. Culture is more important than short term success, believe it or not. Our club has rich ties with the indigenous community. Bringing in Walker for a few short years would be an insult to indigenous players past and present. Would be absolutely astonished if the board and Goodwin would do this. I’d rather back JVR in for the short term than bringing a player that says the things Tex has said in recent history.
