Nibbler signs 3-year deal
A hugely underrated but important part of team both from a structural and cultural perspective. I've doubted him at stages over the years, but he's proven to be a real pillar of this team. On ya Nibs

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
I don't mind the idea of getting 1#, and Harley certainly sounds good, but who does he replace in the team in the short term? I have always preferred the Moneyball approach having said that. For me, whatever Taylor ends up doing is ok. He knows all.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Fully expect us to bounce back and beat the tiges convincingly. I'm not buying into the post-loss Demonland hysteria just yet. Dons are playing pretty good footy and missing BB, Gawn and Lever was a huge issue structurally. I hope Tmac gets dropped, he's a downhill skier of the highest order and well past his best. I'd be looking at dropping Spargo too. Stay the course Dee's, its a long season and frankly I'd love to peak in the second half of the season rather than the first.

It's a long season guys. Players are entitled to periods of bad form. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater yeah?

Absolutely blows my mind that year in, year out, I have to listen to the media tell me how good Carlton are gonna be this year. Full blown pretenders. Cripps is very overrated.

I won’t be reading into this one too much, those midfield numbers are clearly an outlier and that’s exactly where the game was lost. Tmac isn’t competitive enough in the ruck, and I don’t think he does enough up forward as well. Time to give the boy JVR his chance. Petty had his most forgettable night, his turnovers resulting in goals tonight gave them so much momentum. Harmes can pack his bags and head to Casey for awhile. Showed good resolve to claw back percentage. That’s the type of thing the demons of old were not capable of so it’s one thing I’m proud of about last night. That’s it though. Figure it out boys, if we see that again vs the swans I will hold grave fears for our September chances.

- The 3 best & worst off-field things associated with football
The good: 1. When "all the goals" is uploaded after a dominant win 2. Walking to the G' on my way to the members on a crisp Saturday afternoon after a few beers 3. The wide range of emotions I go through during every single game we play The bad: 1. Living in Canberra with a young family, hardly being able to put my MCC membership to good use 2. Commentators in general, particularly how the legendary dry wit of the likes of Cometti has mostly just been replaced with yelling 3. Footy media in general, especially how they tend to cross the line between reporting on relevant footy issues and delving too deep into players personal lives- Every AFL Player Ranked
